My, my, my!

I had Infinity Kappas for the whole set along with the Sony XM-GS4 amp and stock sub (yes). The Kappas were OK, but I had an earlier Pioneer Premier set and I could not forget the sound! I thought that going back to Kappas would do something - but they kept me thinking about Pioneer. I made the move on the TS-Z65CH - which are better spec'd than the old Premier, and those gave me what I wanted! I then used the Kappa rears with the Pio fronts, and they Kappas were dragging the sound down big time! I did not want to spend the money, but I knew that I had to as these were the only 96K car speakers that I know of. Matched up with the 100K range of that Sony amp, and you have an experience that you DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE!!! Once matched up - the sound was better than expect, full bodied, highly detailed with details - not high treble, and each sound has POWERFUL IMPACT! Many people don't get it, but you need an AMP for these to make them do what they need to do, and I would HIGHLY recommend that Sony amp, as it is the only 100K amp that I am aware of. I always hi-res files for almost 20 years, so I needed this. Plus, Acura does not play FLAC files from the cars, so I had to use Android Auto and this system to bring it out! It is brought out! Once these rounded out the set, I did not want to leave my car! I will find excuses to take long drives now. No DSP or EQ needed! The Infinitys could not hang with that Sony amp and even Sony does not make 96K sp
Pros: Complements the front TS-Z65CH perfectly! Combine with the fronts - perfectly balanced! THIS model not lacking - unlike previous! Better crossovers than previous models! Small box! Clean, precise and fully realized sound!!!!
Cons: Cheap connectors! They could have included connectors... I hope that the connections does not fall off, it's a lot of work to get to them in an Acura!

Pioneer for the win
Joshua from Detroit, MI on 6/1/2021
Haha finally someone who understands had to review after seeing the one from Kevin. Pioneer is THE GO-TO when you want those ultra highs and mids. They have been in every vehicle I've owned since I was 15 (my first). They make killer everything there 6x9s are undervalued even though they are the best. Everybody is JVC this or Scar that ect. For subwoofers I wouldn't choose pioneer but for everything else pioneer hands down. As for these they scream like others have mentioned don't fade just EQ or turn down treble or mid on head unit but I always suggest a EQ I have a pioneer EQ I've used forever it just hasn't broke or failed me so I continue to use it.
Pros: Pioneer is the best for you mid and highs needs (sorry not sorry).
Cons: None, if it's a little bright to you just use a EQ or turn down the mids a little.

Old School Rock and Pioneer all the way!

These speakers are great sounding speakers, but you don't want to use them without an amp because you will hardly get any bass. But the treble is crisp. About the highs being bright as said by some people, that's what your treble knob is for on your stereo. Turn it down. But it's better to have too much than too little. You can always turn it down but you can't turn it up if the speaker won't do it. I'm an old school type guy who goes for high fidelity speakers rather than songs with nothing notable about them but the noisy mumbling of subwoofers, so these should be great!
Pros: Great power handling up to 110 watts, great frequency response from 32hz to 96,000khz (compared to normal range of 20 to 24khz that even far more expensive speakers don't offer). These can't be beat in the bang for the buck department.
Cons: You just gotta use an amp if you want these to perform well at all. That's what they are designed for, so you gotta get an amp with these. Otherwise, you won't get good bass response. So get lower priced, lower wattage and higher sensitivity speakers up to 50 or so watts because without an amp, you are leaving performance that you paid for on the table with these speakers.

I am using these in the rear doors as rear fill. I like that I can aim the tweeters. The tweeters are a bit bright, but I just fade the rear out a little. It looks like you could remove the tweeter and put in somewhere else if you wanted to make a mount for it. Over all a smooth sounding speaker, just really bright on the tweeter.
Pros: Easy install, tweeter can be aimed.
Cons: Tweeter mount seems a bit flimsy.

2014 Nissan Versa Note
Installed 2014 nissan versa note with Pioneer head unit and small amp. Mid and bass sound are really great, I can listen loud rock songs with no stress and noise. (Especially drum sounds are amazing cool). But High pitch sound is not that good, (sometimes too much depends on songs) maybe because of my setting, but I could handle with head unit EQ. Overall, amazing sound as 2 way speakers for this price.
Pros:
Cons:

They don't work for my setup
Tom from Minneapolis, MN on 8/4/2018
2018 Hyundai Kona
2018 Hyundai Kona AWD Limited, factory head unit and Alpine KTP-445U brick amp. By the specs I thought these would give me more bass then my Audio Frog 2-ways. But they could not match the sound quality of the Audio Frogs, not even close. Way too much treble that could not be quenched by adjusting the head unit. Mids and bass were weak compared to Audio Frogs. Maybe a high buck amp and head unit would help???
Pros: None for me
Cons: Could not match the sound of my recently ordered Audio Frogs, too much treble

Pioneer does it again.

I've always been a fan of pioneer and thes z series speakers are top notch. I'm powering them with a pioneer 400watt amp and they are wicked loud. If I was not such a bass head I could probably live with the lows the produce.
Pros: Movable attaches tweeter is awesome for getting highs just where u want them.
Cons: I had to hide these great looking speakers behind my door panels.
