About the Pioneer TS-W261S4

Built tough for solid bass

Pioneer's TS-W261S4 10" subwoofer is built to take it as well as dishing it out. This Pioneer Champion Series sub features a ribbed cone that's injection-molded for exceptional precision and strength. A double-layered elastic polymer surround supports the woofer during cone excursion so you'll get accurate, hard-hitting bass notes even when the music's turned up loud. Wire a pair of these in parallel and they're a great match for a mono amplifier.

Add some boom to your daily drive

If your vehicle's audio system is sounding a little thin, this Pioneer sub can remedy that situation, bringing out all the punch and power in your music by filling in the lowest frequencies of the sound spectrum. Throw one or two of these subs in your daily ride, power them up with a nice amp, and you'll understand what the fuss is all about — whatever you listen to, great bass will make it sound much, much better.

Product Research

Features

Woofer: The Pioneer Champion series TS-W261S4 features an IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) cone. This process of cone molding assures a uniform cone thickness for superior linearity and clarity. The cone is lightweight and rigid for low distortion and superior bass response.

Surround: The surround is made of dual-layer, fiber reinforced elastic polymer.

Terminals: The woofer's spring compression binding post terminals are side-by-side for easy wiring. Each post will accept a pin connector, a single banana plug, or bare wire up to 10-gauge.

Double-stacked Magnet: The woofer uses double-stacked magnets to create a powerful magnetic force. This increases the control exerted over the voice coil.

Sealed Box Volume: The recommended sealed box volume is 0.8 ft³ (from 0.65 ft³ to 1.25 ft³ is acceptable).

Vented Box Volume: The recommended vented box volume is 1.1 ft³ with a 3" diameter x 5" long port (0.9 ft³ to 1.5 ft³ is acceptable).

Single Reflex Bandpass Volume: The recommended bandpass box has a sealed chamber volume of 0.42 ft³ and a ported chamber volume of 2.6 ft³, with a slot port measuring 14-5/8" x 5-7/8" x 11-1/8". Other acceptable designs keep the same sealed chamber size and the ported chamber changes to 2.3 ft³ with a 14-5/8" x 9" x 11-1/8" slot port, or 3.0 ft³ with an 18-1/8" x 3-5/8" x 9-5/8" slot port.

Q
how many inches is the sub from the front to back motor?
[ Andrew  Dec 14, 2017 ]

A
The mounting depth (from the bottom of the mounting ring to the back of the basket/magnet) is 5.5". The mounting height from the bottom of the mounting ring to the top of the woofer) is 0.627". So, all together, 6.127" I hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
