Awesome for iPhone and Android™

Once your iPhone's connected to this Pioneer's front-panel USB input, you'll be able to access your playlists with the receiver's controls. You'll also enjoy control over your favorite Pandora® stations on your Android phone or iPhone from this receiver. A handy front aux input handles just about any other audio source.

Android Open Accessory 2.0 (AOA 2.0) lets you access music files stored on many Android phones through USB, plus it lets you control music streaming apps like Pandora® with compatible devices. You'll enjoy excellent sound quality and you won't have to pick up the phone whenever you want to skip a track.

Download Pioneer's Advanced Remote Control App (ARC) to your iOS or Android device, plug in via USB, and you've got a smart remote control for your Pioneer in the palm of your hand. You'll use your touchscreen to access advanced functions like source selection, playback, music library browsing, music app selection, and much more.

Turn on the color

The DEH-X6800BT CD receiver spans the color spectrum with a multi-color display that lets you choose from thousands of colors for the display and controls — you can even choose different colors for each. MIXTRAX adds to the fun by adding transitions between songs along with a light show that pulses and changes color with the beat of the music.

Tailor the sound

With Pioneer's potent MOSFET amplifier and 5-band EQ at your disposal, you can be sure you'll hear a big jump in sound quality over your old radio. Two pairs of preamp outputs make it easier to add external amplifiers or a powered sub.

Faceplate when detached feels a bit cheap but it's fine when on and looks flashy. Other than that 5s all around.

Pros: Fairly straightforward to use, looks great, sounds great, doesn't stick out.

This is a light show and nothing more. Error 10 on Bluetooth. Replaced with an Alpine. Wires were thinner. Sound quality were worse than the alpine.

Pros: Like 4th of July light show. Silly

    Cons: Everything

    As good as expected

    Trevor from MN on 7/29/2016

Works just as expected. Looks cool, sounds good, bluetooth connects very fast. Only issue I had was that the wiring harness kept getting stuck behind the radio, and not allowing it to slide all the way in. This is easily fixed, however.

Pros: Good sound quality, cool lighting, does what it says it does.

Cons: If no mic is connected and you use your phone for a call over Bluetooth, the radio doesn't use your phone's mic.

i have an older vehicle so i felt an update was mandatory. this units has nice look and great sound. i didn't read the details as much as i should have an found out it more compatible with iphones than android phones..... i have an android. seems most radios are this way (which kinda sucks). scrolling the menu could be a little simpler but once you've done it a few times it gets easier. all in all a great product for a great from Crutchfield.

    Pros: price looks sound features

    Cons: more iphone capabilities menu

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Incredible value, great features and great sound. This was a replacement for the factory deck in my 04 Ram 2500. Yes, I lost 6-disc changer...but who listens to discs anymore?!? Now with bluetooth control, I have all my music in lossless format on my phone which pairs perfectly. Also, the hands free calling is excellent. I purchased the additional connector to keep my factory steering wheel controls and this works wonderfully. One thing to note...If you are using an aftermarket amp, make sure you configure the settings to allow the rear RCA ouputs to work. You have to choose to use the speakers out, the RCA outs, the subwoofer or a combination of them in the initial setup. If you don't hear anything on the rear RCA, this is why! Anyways, great sound. I paired this with Polk db651 in the rear doors, Polk dxi691 in the front doors, and MTX Thunder35 in the dash. Very happy!

Pros: Great sound. Love the bluetooth and hands free calling. The color cycling is very cool and my 2yr old loves it!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The stereo in our van was on its way out; the tape player(!) didn't work well with tape adapters and the volume knob didn't respond to a gentle touch. Our van has stereo controls in the steering wheel, so I opted for the extra connections for that. Instructions for how to install were perfect, until I couldn't get the Bluetooth to work. I emailed Crutchfield on a Saturday expecting to hear back on Monday, but was very pleased to receive a response that same day. I tried their suggestions, and followed up later Saturday. Sunday morning(!) I heard back again and the return was processed. This is above and beyond customer support and I am very pleased with the end result. I only dealt with support through email, but that was perfect for me. I judge companies by how they respond to failures. The initial unit was defective, which is disappointing, but Crutchfield's support turned the experience into a good one.

Pros: It works, does what I wanted. The ability to set a custom colors is appreciated; anything to tone down the gaudiness of most other aftermarket units is fantastic. Actually that was one reason I went with this unit.

Cons: First one's Bluetooth didn't work; but a quick replacement from Crutchfield and we're all set now. I removed some stars for "Ease of Use" because it wasn't especially easy to figure out that the Bluetooth module was to blame for my problems.

The Digital Receiver unit felt good and solid right out of the box. The wiring harness and more importantly, the wiring instructions made my DIY installation easy. The added parts fit like a glove and was easy to install. I pre-wired the harness and the time to uninstall and install the new unit took only 35-minutes. After re-installing the cars trim and turning the ignition key; the receiver turned on and I programmed the unit with all the radio stations, clock, Bluetooth; and Pandora, took only 15-minutes. Now, I'm driving with a digital receiver making my factory car speakers sound like a thousand-dollar system. Many thanks to Crutchfield for great priced unit, on-spot instructions, and great customer support!

Pros: Great price. Easy to understand wiring instructions. Great customer support.

Cons: Customer support wait time was a bit long.

Since this was just installed I'm not sure of durability. I had to return the first one sent because of a problem with the Bluetooth. Crutchfield had a second one in my hands quickly. No problem with the return. Installation was pretty simple. The biggest problem I had was removing the first one to install the second one. Setup isn't complicated however the instructions are a little vague in some areas. Certainly a good value and with Crutchfield's help you don't have to pay someone else for installation.

Easy hook up. Sounds great. I gave wrong info on factory radio and Crutchfield sent me the correct harness free of charge in 1 day (Awesome). One thing to note..the Red and Yellow power wires may need switched for this vehicle. Before installing completely you may want to check this by powering the unit on and setting the time (or channels) then turn car off, pull the key and restart to make sure it holds memory. If not just switch them (Red to Yellow and Yellow to red) or just call Crutchfield and they will give you the same info. Alternating display illumination is a little weird.... Find one you like and save it. I suggest White

Pros: Easy hook up Great sound Hands free BT works great Charging port. ........... Remember---This is a $99 CD/Radio with BT. You will be very happy at this price point

    Cons: No issues

The value is pretty good as Pioneer always delivers on ease of use and connectivity via any of the options. I am not too highly impressed with the quality of the sound as it always sounds muffled a little bit. The powerful and other settings that it has almost distort the music rather than help it.

Pros: The color changes to match. Bluetooth and other connectivity is easy. Easy set up on initial install.

Cons: Cannot read the buttons whenever there is any sunlight present. Music quality could be better.

First off kudos to Crutchfield for the great packaging and installation kits. Made the install very easy. Unfortunately my experience with the DEH-X6800BT was not perfect in that I could not get the BT module to work. Trying to access BT would result in an Error 10 message on the unit. After talking with Crutchfield technical support they shipped me a replacement unit but it also had the same error message. Frustrating to say the least. Crutchfield allowed me to select a new receiver and shipped it immediately.

Pros: Very clean interface and easy to setup.

Cons: Bluetooth was not functional Bezel lighting was too bright

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If the tuner is going to wind up taking up two spaces in the dash, why not go ahead and make the face bigger to allow for easier input of the controls. Price was competitive. Prior experience with Pioneer tuners and this one shows great reception and sound and volume. Would like to have more division and assignment control over illumination of screen and controls. Pioneer has a great record for long lasting products.

Pros: Pioneer reputation, quality, sound. It's a higher end company.

Cons: If the tuner is going to wind up taking up two spaces in the dash, why not go ahead and make the face bigger to allow for easier input of the controls. Would like to have more division and assignment control over illumination of screen and controls. When I push the release button for the faceplate, I have to jiggle the faceplate around to get it to let go. Am afraid it will eventually break some plastic part of the latch and then it will need to be replaced. If that happens, won't buy another.

this is a nice looking radio, installation was easy, bluetooth pairing to my android was simple and works everything well. the display is course and cluttered, not quite bright enough to read on a sunny day, the clock is hard to read. the track and preset buttons are a bit small and have no tactile feedback, no click. there is no mute on front panel only on the remote which is too big to stick anyplace handy.

Pros: nice looking, good price, decent sound, easy install and set up Crutchfield customer service is excellent

Cons: controls are a bit clumsy

    Good Bluetooth function

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bluetooth function performs well. Tuner presets almost invisible, especially at night. Photos of the unit make the presets look more legible than they really are, once the unit is installed in dash. Tuner reception not as good as other units I've had from Crutchfield. Light on either side of bezel-way too bright. Tried to tone them down with a sharpie, but still annoying. Other than these few cons, unit functions fairly well -especially for the cost of the unit (relatively inexpensive).

    Good Factory Replacement

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got this unit to replace an 18+ year-old factory radio in my Civic. Kept the old radio in the car because it controls the keyless entry. Crutchfield's instructions were good, but had a tougher time storing the old radio behind the dash that I thought. Haven't gotten the Pioneer App to work properly via USB, but Bluetooth connection to my iPhone works most of the time, so I haven't tried that hard. Streaming music through Bluetooth works okay, but I feel like the sound quality isn't the same as with the CD or radio. The LED display is difficult to see in daylight--especially wearing sunglasses. The radio station preset buttons are small and seeing the number presets on them is essentially impossible for me during the day. Also, the wires from the unit are very small gauge and difficult to strip as was seeing the tracer color on some of them. Overall, I like the unit. It has lots of great features and I especially like being able to use my iPhone with it and I am happy with the upgrade from the factory unit.

    Pros: Lots of features.

Cons: Difficult to see in the daylight. Small wires.

2002 Chrysler Town and Country with Infinity sound system

gpop from Stone Mountain, GA on 5/12/2016

    2002 Chrysler Town and Country
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Hey guys, much respect to Crutchfield first off, what a great resource and knowledgeable staff. They make the difference in any build. OK, I am an old school guy. Like to do installs myself, (why pay, when you can play for free, right?) I finally decided to upgrade the stereo in the 2002 Chrysler Town and Country, with the Infinity sound system. I bought the Pioneer DEH 6800BT. At install, I did not realize that the installed system came with speaker amps installed with the door speakers, that use a relay to power them. So after soldering and wire capping all the connections, I installed the unit. No sound, AND, the units CD player did not work. I called tech support, and Gage hipped me to what the problem was. He informed me that I would have to account for the speaker amps with an adapter to account for the speaker amp relay, and he sent a new unit, because obviously the CD was defective. Got the new unit in 2 days (great response and free shipping by the way). So, I got the new unit installed. I found a work around for the speaker amp problem by wiring a 16 gauge wire to the 12 volt hot lead (Red), running it through the firewall, and connecting it to the fuse box NBS relay pin #87, so the speaker amp powers on at unit power on.

Pros: Wow, this Pioneer DEH 6800BT is fantastic. Paired with the Infinity speakers, it sounds like they were designed together. The Pioneer DEH 6800BT is an amazing piece of engineering. The controls are efficient and simple to use. All of the features I need. I can pair my Android phone to it, plug my USB media player to it, I'm not an Apple device guy, but It can handle those as well. I love Pioneer. I recommend Pioneer, and with Crutchfield, you get the best experience in car audio.

Cons: The only con is that the detachable face place is a little tricky to remove. The detach button works, but the faceplate sticks a bit, so you have to work the right side to remove it. I just need to get use to it I guess, not a show stopper!!

Great radio. I installed a few radios in the '80's when you guessed, after cutting the OEM wiring harness about which wire went where. The detailed wiring diagram included with the package made it clear. My wife saw the package and said "who is going to install this". The Crutchfield team was WONDERFUL!! I had a couple of questions about the installation and the team was fantastic - I was concerned about a couple of steps - called on Saturday morning - NO PROBLEM! - all questions were answered - system installed and everything worked GREAT!!

I bought this stereo to replace the factory head unit in the truck I just got for my son. He is just learning to drive and I wanted a stereo that would have all the options he needed and simple to operate. Most stereos on the market today seem to be confusing to use to this old fella. But this one looked easier than the others to use.

Pros: Radio picks up weak stations well.

Cons: The display doesn't look like it's changed since I was a teenager.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is my second Pioneer receiver I get for my vehicle. The receiver is pretty easy to work with. Self installation is a breeze if you are a bit handy and features on unit are great. Really affordable price with pretty much anything necessary for music and calls on the road. The blue tooth built in capability is super easy to set up and once I did set it up it will sync with my iPhone as soon as I get in the car. Will start playing music where right away as soon as l turn the ignition on. It also has the usb portal which comes handy when you need to recharge the battery in your phone. Or to listen music through usb devices. Color displays are a nice feature although would be a bit better if the LEDs inside unit will be a bit brighter. Sound quality is great and choices for fine tuning the audio are basic great. Remote control could be a plus when you have a vehicle with third row seats. So people seating in the back can perform basic operations with it. Not having to ask the driver to skip songs or bring volume up or down. Plays cd's as well so a complete array of music formats are well covered.'

Pros: CD player, blue tooth built in, Pandora and XM radio (with adapter, not included) capabilities. USB portal for charging and music features.

Cons: Display intensity could be better.

I have had my DEH-X6800BT installed for about a month now and cannot be more pleased. Bluetooth works great for streaming music and using the phone part is also easy and functional. I have four 4x6 Pioneer speakers as well as the Pioneer GMD1004 GM slim amp, which I highly recommend, and the sound is clean. Highs and lows are great. The whole system sounds like it cost a lot more. Thanks Crutchfield, for helping me out... I had to call 4 or 5 times as this was my first install, and the advisors were extremely helpful and patient. I cut the harness from my vehicle and had to wire everything old school, I guess.

Pros: functionality, price, looks and ease of install.

This isn't Tokyo Drift. I'm not at a car show. This complaint has already been voiced hundreds of times on the forums. I want a strong backlight for text and low lighting for the "illumination effects". I just want to listen to music, and I don't need the inside of my car to look like a freaking carnival.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for a radio for my teen daughter's first car (a 97 Cavalier) because the stock radio was not working well. While this model clearly has good sound, for us, we left the stock speakers in, because our goal was for the features of this radio, not to turn my daughter's car into a rolling dance club. :-) I wanted: radio, cd player, phono jack input to get songs from devices, and hands-free calling. This radio had that and more. The USB input is convenient, but most of all the hands-free features are just GREAT, both for calling and for wireless music playing via Bluetooth, and even for voice control. The remote control works well and is a nice feature. One needs to read the manual to understand how to work the radio's features, and at first it may seem like this is a confusing model / interface, but quickly after using it it's rather intuitive. She likes the ability to change color combinations, etc. I have used the mic provided for hands free calling, even at highway speeds / wind noise, and the other party said I sounded clear / no problems. So, we're just a family, not looking for a "rattle the neighborhood" radio - we just wanted some useful, and some safety, features, and we got that and more. FYI, we used a different dash kit than what they sent because we wanted the little storage space for a CD or whatever, and the standard one Crutchfield sends works, but doesn't have that, nor do they sell one like that..

    Pros: Features Sound Cost

Cons: Display is a bit dim in full daylight.

I'm really happy with this unit. I waited for years because I didn't want to change the look of the factory radio with something that didn't look like it fit. With the trim plate there is a little empty space to the right of the receiver. That space turned out to be a good place to mount my Iphone with a Steelie mount. The Bluetooth works seamlessly with the music on my phone and making calls. For those with a BMW 325i, you need to remove the vent above the stereo and the factory plastic cage that this receiver will fit in for a good install. I removed the DIN sleeve to get a better fit and used some spacers to justify the receiver to the left side. The wiring harness needs to rest on top of the plastic cage and behind the vent for a good fit.

Pros: Bluetooth works great with my Iphone.

Cons: The illuminated colors look really good but the display is dim in sunlight. I set the display color to white so I could see it during daylight hours. The installation information was not detailed enough for my specific car. I was able to find videos online of other stereo installs in BMW's to figure it out.

After reviewing several different brand replacement stereos for my truck I decided on this model Pioneer. It was simple to install (actually the truck it was being installed in is what made it easy, less than 10 minutes). It sounds great and the display is large enough to read without having to really concentrate on it while driving. And the hands free phone is excellent.

Pros: Blue tooth is excellent. The USB port is super since I just plug in a flash drive full of music and can listen for hours on end while on a long drive. Removable face plate is nice if you are forced to park in areas that might experience break-ins.

Cons: Display is bright at night but in the daytime not so much. It makes it had to see if the sun is out. The diameter of the main control knob is good but it could be a little longer for those of us who don't have petite size fingers.

I drive a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited w/Infinity Gold stereo system with 10-disc CD changer. The systems with the CD changer don't come with a CD player in the head unit, just the AM/FM radio and cassette player. Listening to the same CD's or having to go to the back to swap out CD's was an inconvenience. I wanted to upgrade to something with a CD player, a USB input on the face, and bluetooth to use my phone. The DEH X6800BT offered what I needed at an affordable price. At first I thought the multiple color illumination was just a bit too much but I actually like the fact that I could customize the color so it matches the rest of the interior, giving it a more "stock" feel to it. Crutchfield's recommended harness adapters and instructions made installation a breeze and everything works perfectly... and I got to keep my steering wheel controls as an added bonus! The sound quality was greatly improved with the new head unit so I ended up keeping the Infinity amp and speakers. The stereo itself is easy to use and it's very intuitive. The learning curve to navigate the controls was very short and everything is laid out well. This was at the perfect price point and is definitely a great value. I'm thinking about putting one in my girl's truck just so she'll have the bluetooth for phone calls. (right now she puts me on speakerphone and puts her iphone in her lap) All in all, I would definitely recommend this model to anyone.

Pros: Bluetooth for audio Bluetooth for calls Customized colors to match existing interior USB input on front face Ease of use Great price point

Cons: Wasn't free (in other words, I haven't found any cons yet)

Great cross over features, great pre-amp, audio options, etc.

Johhny J from stow, OH on 2/11/2016

Last Pioneer I bought was this unit's older brother, circa 11', which was still going strong powering 3 external amplifiers, but had odd freq. adjustment points with less actual choices, and buttons are annoying . First off, if you've owned previous Pioneer, this sets up fairly much the same, with minor differences. Turn unit OFF, and holding center knob in, reaches hidden settings clock and sub/rear output settings. Biggest setting they were nice enough to keep for stereo guys running external amps, is if you select the rear/rear setting and change to rear/sub. This will force the actual unit into L/R stereo operation, and remove the fader effect, allowing for the front channel RCA outs to be in true stereo, but you are better off off leaving the rear-out wires unattached in externally amped systems. Not doing this, you unfortunately have only the front channel of the fader section being amplified via RCA, which can make sounds impossible to hear as the rear radio channel would need to be outputted to a high-level input on an amplifier to balance out, which is no good. You still get actual sub-out from the 2nd set of pre-outs, and they are still adjustable, but the fader option is deactivated. However, if you don't run subs, you can output the sub outs as rear outs instead, though you loose the pre-out independent adjustment at the HU, as well as subwoofer related options. The custom colors are very nice, and can blend with virtually any car's dash lighting.

Pros: -Tons of high pass and low pass freq. cut points. Goes much higher freq. on both. Can't remember the last time I saw 200hz as a cut, and you get 12 and 24db slopes to compliment everything. -Custom EQ settings have nicer freq. adjustment points, and actually includes more of them, with a mid-bass range that's missing in older units. For bi-amped systems, this is very nice to have so much adjust-ability. -SLA still exists, as does every other audio adjustment from 4 years ago, very happy.

Cons: -Still has less-than friendly, small, almost flush buttons, but knob is big, so that helps. -What's with the DJ "Mix" setting? Completely pointless clutter. -Only has front RCA and Sub out, though front RCA can be converted to true 2 channel L/R only signal w/o fader, though it's not explained this exists in manual and is a hidden feature carried over from older models. -Unit is cluttered with gimmicky features, but makes up for it with vast audio adjustments.

I found this product to be exactly what I wanted, the only reason I lowered the rating from 5 on ease of use is at times I have to mess with the band button to get Pandora to work with bluetooth. This is typically when starting from a poor network connection location (leaving work). Other than that it is easy to use, functions are good and this is the 3rd unit I've installed. I put one in my daughter's truck, liked it, put one in my car and then my dad's truck. My wife's car is next, cell phone use tickets make the stereo seem free.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I chose to buy this unit because of its great reviews, affordability and Bluetooth hands-free call capability. The sound quality is extraordinary even with my fossilized, old & busted, 25-yr-old speakers. I don't have single negative comment regarding the sound. The downside is that I ended up buying this product TWICE through another retailer due to the Bluetooth module crapping out when trying to receive calls. Phone pairing was seamless, but on the very first incoming call after installation, the BT disconnected and the display showed an "Error 10" code, thus rendering the BT inoperable. The manual said to reset the BT module by turning the unit off then back on, which worked, but only until the very next call. I returned the unit for a replacement, but the second one experienced the same Error 10 fault after a few days. Frustrated, I called Crutchfield and spoke to an extremely knowledgeable representative about whether this Error 10 business was a common problem. He spent a lot of time with me discussing my issues (with the radio, that is) and assured me that he had no documented returns to CF for that problem. The unit was $20 more through CF, but the piece of mind I get with a no-hassle return and fantastic tech support was well worth it. The new unit is working well and the BT has been working great so far. I'll certainly be going to CF for new speakers to fully capture the unit's capabilities, if I can chip out my old ones.

Pros: * Wide variety of features for audio adjustment (High-Pass Filter, 5-band EQ, loudness, bass boost) * Seamless Bluetooth pairing to ancient flip-phones * No problems with illumination brightness (despite many negative reviews) * Backlight color choice customization is really cool * Extensive menus, but easy to navigate and change options * Rapid switching between sources (USB, CD, Aux, Radio, etc.) * Bluetooth: excellent mic pickup (even from backseat) and voice quality through

Cons: * CD eject button is right above the Power/Source button. One road bump when trying to press either often yields unintended results * Small buttons * Wireless remote needs to be line-of-sight so you can't just use it anywhere in the vehicle * Numerous button presses to exit menus * Users' Manual not very organized & only somewhat informative * Need to buy from an Authorized Pioneer Distributor (like Crutchfield) or factory warranty is void - total BS

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Does anyone really need a gazillion colors for car audio? What some of us care about is a system that is easy to set up which this one is not. The fact you even have a criteria called coolness factor that counts as much as sound quality shows you don't get it. The sound quality on this is good but not outstanding. Take out the goofy and overly complicated setup and the colors and you would have a giant killer. In a system with high end speakers this is overmatched. Crutchfield gets five stars for their service. Even with their help had to really struggle to get it to fit. Ended up pulling the whole center console. Although advertised as fitting a Mercedes 500sl this is just barely a fit.

    Pros: Has USB and bluetooth

Cons: Setup overly complex. Too much emphasis on the "coolness factor" and not enough on sound quality. The color setting is overkill. I use my vehicle as part of my business. It does not impress a client if I have audio better suited to a teenager. Like a tie on a good suit an unit should not call attention to itself.

I put this radio in my 1989 firebird after my original radio died. The sales person at Crutchfield was unbelievably knowledgeable and it it wasn't for the fact that I don't allow anyone to touch my car I would have let them put it in for me. The radio plays great, the functions on the radio are easy to learn, the bluetooth works amazingly well, the price was well below what I was expecting to play for this radio. I was given everything needed to install the radio (mounting faceplate kit, wiring harness kit and antenna kit) for free. I did not have to cut or modify one wire in my car. The harness kit was easy to understand and allowed me to keep my original harness as it is. Everything worked great. I've been using the radio for 2 months solid with no problems at all. I'd give it 6 stars out of 5 if I could. I'll be going back to Crutchfield and buy the Pioneer speakers to go with the radio this summer as my original speakers never were that great.

It's a single cab, so if you replace your speakers, use the recommended ones from Crutchfield (which is what I did about a year ago). The sound now is amazing! And it looks pretty cool, too! The only drawback is that the display during the day is dim. so I have the display on white all the time. That makes it about the best to see. I left the color wheel on for the rest of the unit. Easy installation, Really! BTW, IF you want a space under the unit for a CD Jewel case, use the Metra #99-4000 dash kit. It really does fit perfectly! Honest, I have pics!! Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The original radio in the 2007 Subaru had no Bluetooth or USB connectivity. I had asked my daughter, who has that car at college, if she wanted to be able to play her various playlists. Of course, the answer was yes! I has our mechanic install it. The art provided by Crutchfield were exactly was was needed. With that being said, this was a fit. So tight in fact that the removable faceplate is not exactly removeable. I am not exactly worried about it being stolen, so no big deal. Sound it good, setup was easy, and my daughter is happy.

Pros: Good sound quality, easy to use, easy controls.

Cons: The installation kit for the vehicle we put it in made for a VERY tight fit. The radio is installed correctly and yet there is not enough space for the faceplate to be removed properly.

    Great Product !!!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My daughter is just getting her license and has an old Hyundai. I wanted something basic and simple that would allow her to play music off her phone, as well as receive a call hands-free. This head unit was the best rated at this price point. I installed it (with the help of the technical advisors at Crutchfield - cannot rave enough about their knowledge and their willingness and availability to help, let alone their ability to speak to my level - someone who installed a few car stereos in his day, but not in the past decade) and have not looked back. Unit sounds great, and while the initial setup (displays, etc) could have been a little more intuitive or better documented in the manual, I got there and it is perfect. Not too complex, not too flashy (want to keep her eyes on the road), but does what it needs to do and does it well.

Pros: Plays all sources, great sound, simple to use.

Cons: Setup could be a little more intuitive.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am very happy with this purchase. The product arrived on time and as it was described on the webpage. Since I was replacing an older car stereo I purchased from Crutchfield, the installation went very quick. I installed the stereo in a 2007 Honda Civic with speakers I purchased from Crutchfield in the doors and in the rear. I configured the rear RCA outputs for my bazooka tube. Since I had an already existing system in my car, this new radio install took only two hours total (taking longer than needed since I am a perfectionist)0. My previous radio did not have Bluetooth and I am very pleased with this Pioneer's automatic connection to my phone every time I start the car. Also I like how you can configure the colors to match the rest of your interior illumination.

Pros: - Crutchfield customer service - Credit card sized remote. - Bluetooth streaming from iPhone 6 - Customizable illumination - Ability to configure rear RCA outputs to sub woofer outputs.

Cons: - Detachable face plate is slightly more difficult to remove then my previous Kenwood unit.

This is a very nice stereo with lots of features. I installed it on my car using the factory speakers. The sound improved a lot. I get more bass and clear highs from the factory speakers. Great stereo for the price, have no complaints about it. I strongly recommended to anybody who wants to upgrade from stock to after market stereo.

Pros: Bluetooth, sound quality, and price.

Cons: The Settings are kind of confusing at first. Just have to play with it to get use to it.

Great overall product. Easy to install which was very nice. Crutchfield supplies all the items necessary for a fast easy clean install. This item works great. Love having the ability to hook my phone up via bluetooth. It connects automatically as soon as my phone is in range which is really nice that I don't have to connect it every time I get in the truck. It is pretty self explanatory when using as well. Buttons are labeled well. I also like being able to change the color of the radio. I have a Green themed vehicle, all my interior lighting is green, so being able to match my other green leds was a very nice touch. All in all I am very happy with choosing this set up.

The unit and all accessories fit PERFECTLY !!! During installation, i had to contact support for some assistance in wiring. Eli took my call, helped me complete the wiring and finish the installation. Top notch sales and knowledge and superior support. I will certainly purchase from Crutchfield again.

Pros: Receiver is outstanding. Installation was smooth. Sales assistance and installation support are far better than anything I could have asked for. And it added bluetooth functionality to a 2004 vehicle !! So the wife is super excited !!

The sound is actually better than I expected. I installed this in a 1997 Toyota Camry to give us some digital music/Bluetooth capability. Very pleased. Sound quality on the hands-free calling works great. Installation was a breeze. Just wish there was a way to make all the individual wire connections simpler. I highly recommend this receiver for a quick upgrade to an existing old factory unit. Five Stars!!!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this receiver as a newer model to the 6700 that was recommended on the Wirecutter website. I was looking for a receiver that would allow me to add bluetooth capabilities in my Kia Sportage as well as streaming music from my phone. I like to use my phone for music and so connectivity was very important. I can use the bluetooth to stream my music as well as the built in USB port. So far I have liked the sound quality of the bluetooth connection which is far superior to the FM transmitters I have used. One small complaint I have is the actual phone interface is a little confusing at first for making calls. Took a few uses to get comfortable with it. Another issue I have had is with the detachable face. I don't remove it very often but I have found you have to be very careful when removing it and re-attaching it. The face hinges in and out with the latch mechanism on the right. The faceplate can get stuck on the latch mechanism when removing, requiring some effort to disengage. It can also get stuck on the latch when re-inserting making it difficult to realign. Otherwise, receiver is great, radio reception is good and there are plenty of sound settings to tweak to your taste. I am very satisfied with this receiver.

    Pros: Bluetooth Sound adjustments

Cons: Phone interface takes a little practice Faceplate can be hard to detach/reattach.

Pros: Great sound & looks. Set up not to complicated once you've read the manual. Display color choice is a great feature.

Cons: The only minor drawback is the brightness control. Even @ the lowest setting, the vertical light bars @ each side of the unit, are brighter than I would like, especially @ night. It would be nice to have independent brightnness control of keys & display, like you do for the color choices.

This unit was easy to install, and worked well for about six months then the left channel died, the right one does not sound too hot either. I found It is hard to read the display in bright sunlight. I found the menu system to be annoying but I am an old guy. Basically I could live with it all the little nit picking issues had it hadn't crapped out after 6 months. Crutchfield's installation instructions were superb, as was their customer service when I called to order a new receiver, and guess what, not a Pioneer.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love this radio. It installed really easily in my car and the controls are easy and logical. The display and buttons have many different colors to pick from so you can probably find one that makes this stereo look a little closer to OEM. MP3 playback is excellent and can play from either a CD or a flash drive. The bluetooth also paired to my phone with no issues and works really well. I compared this to other stereos and picked this one because the controls are much easier to use. A big clock display that remains on when the radio is off was also a must and this has it.

Pros: Good controls, display is easy to read and use

Cons: None really. My only complain is the cheesy flashing lights that you can mostly turn off. Even once you do, there are these two big LED lights up the two sides of the front of the radio. I wish there was a way to turn them off. Other than that, I haven't found any cons yet.

Scott D from Louisiana on 10/13/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield recommended this radio for my 2003 Toyota Tundra and that was good enough for me. The directions were easy to follow, radio sounds much better than the factory radio that it replaced and looks real nice. The changing light colors for radio display adds a nice touch as well. Only issues I see an agree as I have read on some of the reviews is -- very hard to read radio display during day (Illumination is dim) night t is great, and very difficult to know what station to press for station presets as the button are very small and there is no clear indication. Also, I would prefer pressing the main knob to on / off radio. instead you have to press a small button on the top left corner. Makes it difficult if you need emergency silence. All in all, I am happy with the purchase though.

Pros: - Good price - Nice display light show (Many colors) - Great directions for install / Easy install - Sound is clear and not as muddy sounding as factory radio

Cons: - Radio wiring is ridiculously small....hard to trim off insulation. - hard to read display during daylight.

    • Guest Mode: "Guest Mode" allows you to add and replace a 3rd mobile device instantly to the receiver; Guest Mode is a great feature for a family vehicle with multiple drivers or a driver with multiple devices because it allows users to pair and delete devices easily without a lengthy registration or deletion process.
    • Dual Phone Connect: Once the pairing process is complete, the head unit will automatically connect two phones when in the vehicle to make and receive calls and stream music from both mobile devices.

Hands-Free Communication (w/ External Mic): The DEH-X6800BT supports wireless hands-free communication (HFP/PBAB) for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. And, thanks to the latest Hands-Free Profile (HFP 1.6) with wideband speech capability, the DEH-X6800BT provides more natural sound quality and details during wireless calls. The head unit will display the caller's information and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker during an incoming call. You can manually answer an incoming call or have the unit automatically answer the call. The DEH-X6800BT allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the head unit's external microphone and your car audio speakers. During a conversation you can adjust the volume, as well as switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode. Using the DEH-X6800BT, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:

    • Phone Book: The phone book in your Bluetooth enabled cellular phone will be transferred automatically when the phone is paired to this unit. After finding the number you want to call in the phone book from the head unit, you can select the entry and make the call. If a lot of numbers are registered in the phone book, you can search for a phone number by the contact person's name alphabetically.
    • Presets: You can easily store up to six phone numbers as presets for speed dialing.
    • Call Log: The most recent calls dialed, received, and missed are stored in memory. You can browse them and call numbers from these lists.
    • Voice Dialing (Siri & Google Voice): When paired and connected with an iPhone 4S or later via Bluetooth, the Pioneer head unit has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. It also supports Google Voice for select Android smartphones (not compatible with Samsung "S Voice"). You'll be able to dial a phone number or contact via voice command.
Note: The external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of many aftermarket or factory radios. The microphone features a 13' cord that plugs into the back of the radio, and comes with an adjustable visor-mount clip. The microphone measures 0.475" (diameter) x 1.445" (depth). The unit is not equipped with an integrated microphone.

Wireless Audio Streaming (w/ Advanced Music Navigation): The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The head unit can stream music stored on your Bluetooth enabled device or music apps you have downloaded on your device. In addition to basic playback functions (Play/Pause, FF/RW, Skip, Random/Repeat), the DEH-X6800BT lets you browse your stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, etc. (AVRCP 1.4+ phones only). The head unit will also display your music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title (app must also support). When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call.

Siri Eyes-Free Control: When paired and connected with an iPhone with Siri via Bluetooth (not USB), the Pioneer DEH-X6800BT has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel controls and external microphone. Simply press and hold head unit's phone key to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice will heard through your vehicle's speakers. All Siri functions including hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more can be done through the DEH-X6800BT and its microphone. You can even ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Siri. The head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

Note: The head unit's front-panel LCD will only display hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the Pioneer CD receiver; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device)..

    Android & iPhone Integration

Android Direct Connect via USB: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT enables playback of stored music and music apps on select Android devices through its front-panel USB port. There are two types of modes to choose from based on your type of Android smartphone and what content you want to listen to.

    • AOA 2.0 (Stored Music & Music Apps): The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT supports Android Open Accessory 2.0 (AOA 2.0), which lets  you connect your Android smartphone (OS 4.1+) to the DEH-X6800BT's front-panel USB port and listen to stored music and select music apps from your Android device through the Pioneer receiver. You'll be able to control basic playback functions such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track. Other advanced music navigation will still be done from your Android smartphone's touchscreen. In this mode, the head unit will not display song/artist information; you'll continue to view song/artist information from the Android device's touchscreen. You'll still be able to access other functions and applications from your Android smartphone's touchscreen, while listening to music through the head unit. If you make a call or answer a call from your smartphone while listening to music in this mode, the music will pause until you are finished with the call and then start back up again.
    • MTP (Stored Music w/ Song/Artist Info): The DEH-X6800BT also supports MTP for playback & control of stored MP3/WMA music files on your Android (OS 4.0+) device through the Pioneer receiver's front-panel USB port. In this mode, you get basic playback control (like Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track), plus song/artist information on the receiver's LCD screen. During MTP connection, you cannot use your Android smartphone's touchscreen to control music playback and you cannot select music apps from your smartphone for playback. However, you can continue to listen to stored music on your Android smartphone through the head unit while you check your Calendar, Facebook, Texts, etc on your phone.
Note: You will need to setup Android connectivity within the head unit's menu. Select "Memory" for MTP mode and "App Control" for AOA 2.0 mode.

iPod Direct Connect via USB: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT supports audio playback of stored music & music apps on your Apple iPod/iPhone, along with control and song/artist information display through its front-panel USB port.

    • Connectivity: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT's front-panel USB port can be used to connect your Lightning or 30-pin dock connector iPod/iPhone to the head unit.
      • Lightning: If you have a newer iPod/iPhone with the Lightning-connector, you can use Pioneer's Lightning-to-USB cable (130CDIU52, sold separately) or the Lightning-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect your iPod/iPhone to the DEH-X6800BT.
      • 30-Pin: If you have an older iPod/iPhone with a 30-pin dock connector, you can use the dock connector-to-USB cable that comes with your Apple device or a 3rd party dock connector-to-USB cable (sold separately) to connect your iPod/iPhone to the DEH-X6800BT.
    • Control Modes: You can choose to operate your iPod/iPhone through the head unit's front-panel controls, from its clickwheel/touchscreen, or via a streamed app from your iPhone.
      • Head Unit: From the head unit, you can browse your iPod/iPhone's music library by Artist, Album, Song, Genre, Playlist, Composer, Podcast, or Audiobook. Once you have selected a category, you can search each category alphabetically. In addition, the head unit offers Link Play, which allows you to play songs related to the currently playing song. Link Play lets the head unit create an album list of the currently playing artist, a song list of the currently playing album, or an album list of the currently playing genre. You can also select Random & Repeat functions for a certain song or specific folder. The head unit will display your iPod/iPhone's stored music file information; including Track number, Elapsed playing time, and Song/Artist/Album name. Apple devices w/ iOS 6.0+ will stay unlocked, so you can access music apps; other iPod/iPhone device's clickwheel or touchscreen will be locked during this mode.
      • iPod/iPhone: In iPod mode, you can navigate the stored music on your iPod/iPhone from its clickwheel or touchscreen, while still being able to view song/artist information and control basic playback functions from the head unit. You will not be able to browse your iPod/iPhone's music by category from the head unit or use Link Play in this mode.
      • Apps: App mode lets you listen to your favorite music apps from your iPhone (iOS 5.0+) through the Pioneer head unit and your vehicle's speakers. Once you have selected the music app from your iPhone, you'll be able to listen to music from that app through the Pioneer head unit, view song/artist information on the head unit's LCD, and operate basic playback functions such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track from the head unit's front-panel control. Not all apps will be compatible with App Mode.

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.

Mobile Device Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 1A of current to power and charge your connected Android smartphone or Apple iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position (if your Android device has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it). The receiver even offers a "USB Auto Switch" feature so when your device is connected via USB you have the option to choose whether the receiver uses the phone as a source, or just charges the device.

    Pandora + AM/FM Radio

Pandora Internet Radio: The free Pandora App (either from Apple's App Store/Google Play) lets you play music from the Pandora music service through the Pioneer DEH-X6800BT using your USB-connected Apple iPhone (iOS 7.0+) or Bluetooth paired Android smartphone. Your Apple iPhone must be connected to the DEH-X6800BT via the CD-IU52 Pioneer iPod connector cable or the connector-cable that came with your iPhone. Your Android smartphone must support A2DP/AVRCP/SPP Bluetooth profiles and be paired with the Pioneer receiver. Your iPhone or Android smartphone will also need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi. The DEH-X4700BT provides control over the Pandora music service and displays Artist, Album, and Song information.

    • Station List: You can select Pandora stations from your Station List by date or alphabetically (A-Z).
    • Shuffle Station List: You can listen to songs played randomly from various stations within your Station List.
    • New Stations + Delete: New stations can be created based on the current songs or artists playing. You can also delete a station from your Pandora station list.
    • Skip Songs: You can skip song tracks within a station. You cannot skip back to a previous song. Pandora limits the number of skips allowed.
    • Thumbs Up/Down: You can give songs a thumbs up or thumbs down to help Pandora personalize stations to suit your preferences.
    • Bookmarking: The song/artist currently being played can be bookmarked & stored in your Pandora account.

Note: Access to the Pandora service will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet. Pandora is not supported in Canada & only available in the United States.

Supertuner IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.

    • RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible AM/FM stations.
    • BSM (Best Stations Memory): The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function lets you automatically store the six strongest stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.
    • Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 levels of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.

    Disc/USB/Aux Playback

Compatible Discs: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT CD receiver supports playback of CD-Audio, CD-R, and CD-RW discs. This unit can play MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV files recorded on CD-R and CD-RW discs

    • Off Insert/Eject + Auto Off Eject: A CD disc can be inserted or ejected with the power off. When a disc is inserted with the power off, the unit will automatically power up and begin playback. When you eject a disc, the unit will automatically power off (unless you switch sources before ejecting the disc).
    • Installation Angle: Optimum CD playback performance is obtained when the unit is installed at an angle of less than 60-degrees.

Front-Panel USB Input: The CD receiver's front-panel USB (type-A) port allows you to connect a USB Mass Storage Class (MSC) device, such as a USB thumbdrive or flashdrive (up to 32GB). The USB port enables audio playback & control of MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV audio files stored on your portable USB MSC device through the Pioneer DEH-X6800BT. Basic playback controls included Play/Pause, FW/RW, Previous/Next Track, and Random/Repeat. Song/artist information such as track, artist, and album name will also be displayed on the head unit.

MP3/WMA/AAC/WAV Playback: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT supports the following types of MP3, WMA, AAC, & WAV files recorded onto CD-R/RW disc or loaded onto a USB MSC device.

    Media Type CD-R/RW USB  MSC

File/Track Name List: The Name List feature displays a list of MP3/WMA/AAC albums and tracks on a loaded CD or connected USB device, so you can easily access your music. Music files are listed first by Artist name, then by Album name, and finally by Song title.

Song/Artist Information: During MP3/WMA/AAC playback, the unit displays any recorded ID3 Tag (ver. 1.x/2.x) and WMA/AAC Tag information; including artist, song, and album name.

Playback Controls: The Pioneer CD receiver provides basic operations like Play/Pause, Fast Forward/Rewind, Previous/Next Track, and Repeat/Random for disc and USB device playback.

Auxiliary Input: The DEH-X6800BT is equipped with a front-panel 3.5mm stereo minijack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as a portable digital audio player.

    Audio & DSP Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Pioneer in-dash head unit utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The DEH-X6800BT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

    • CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
    • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels
Note: The power specifications for the DEH-X6800BT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers.

4ch/2V Preouts: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT features two pair of 2.0-volt preouts. The unit's Rear/SW preouts can be configured as fading rear-channel outputs or a non-fading subwoofer outputs. When the head unit's RW/SW preouts are configured as a subwoofer output, you can select the frequency of the low pass filter (50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, or 125 Hz), select the filter slope (-12/-24dB), select the subwoofer phase (normal/reverse), and the subwoofer gain (+6 to -24).

Equalizer: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT features a Preset & Custom EQ. The built-in equalizer offers 7 preset sound modes (Powerful, Dynamic, Vocal, Natural, Custom 1, Custom 2, and Flat) suitable for the music genre of your choice. The two Custom modes allow you to manually adjust the head unit's 5-band EQ (80Hz, 250Hz, 800Hz, 2.5kHz, 8kHz) from +/-6dB. Custom 1 can be set separately for each source, while Custom 2 and the other 5 presets are shared settings used for all sources.

High-Pass Crossover: When you don't want low-frequency sound to be heard through your front or rear speakers, you can simply active the head unit's HPF (high pass filter). By activating the HPF, only frequencies higher than those in the selected range are output from the front or rear speakers. The high pass filter crossover can be set to 50Hz, 63Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 125Hz, 160hz, 200Hz or Off. The slope level of the HPF can also be adjusted to -12dB or 24dB.

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB device, iPod/iPhone, and portable media players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies

Audio Level Settings: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT CD receiver offers a variety of audio settings to tailor the bass, treble, and volume level to your preference.

    • Bass Boost The DEH-X6800BT features a bass boost function which can be used to enhance low-frequency bass sound. The bass boost function can be set between 0-6.
    • Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high sound ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness feature to Low, Mid, High, or Off.
    • Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4dB to +4dB.

Rear Speaker Setup: The rear speaker outputs can be set to provide full range output with full fading capability, or they can be set to provide non-fading subwoofer (low-pass) output. When the rear speaker outputs are set to subwoofer mode, the rear preamp outputs also switch from full range to subwoofer outputs. When set for subwoofer operation, you can connect the rear speaker leads directly to two small 4-ohm passive subwoofers or a dual voice coil sub with 4-ohm voice coils. If you prefer to use a single 2-ohm subwoofer, you can connect the woofer to one set of speaker leads, leaving the other set of rear leads disconnected. The maximum output provided when a 2-ohm load is connected to one set of leads is 70 watts.

MIXTRAX: Drawing from Pioneer's rich DJ heritage and passion for music, MIXTRAX delivers a unique DJ infused listening experience to listeners in the car. MIXTRAX is an innovative Pioneer technology that creates a non-stop mix of your music library complete with a range of DJ-inspired effects. MIXTRAX takes your typical music listening experience and creates a non-stop mix of your music with 9 random DJ effects and transitions, by removing the breaks and pauses normally introduced between tracks and replacing them with various beats. MIXTRAX is compatible with USB-connected iPod/iPhone, USB MSC device, and select Android devices. There is also a Short Playback option which limits the amount of time each track plays; select from 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, or 3 minutes.

Note: The MIXTRAX function does not work in App mode or with the Pandora App for iPod/iPhone, and is not supported by USB MTP devices. The Advanced Sound Retriever function is disabled when MIXTRAX is activated.

    Display Features

Detachable Face Security: The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT in-dash CD receiver features detachable face security. No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Color Customization: Color Customization lets the user match their receiver illumination to their vehicle's interior lighting. Over 210,000 colors are available to match the illumination of almost any car. The button illumination and display illumination colors can be customized separately for an endless number of color combinations. You can select from 12 preset colors, customize an illumination color (by adjusting Red/Blue/Green brightness levels), or scan through a variety of colors.

Brightness Control: You can manually adjust the brightness (1-10) of the head unit's display to suit your viewing needs. You can also sync the receiver's illumination to the head units' clock or your vehicle's headlights. To dim the receiver's display automatically when the vehicle's headlights are turned on, you'll need to hardwire the orange/white wire of the head unit's harness to your vehicle's parking light circuit.

MIXTRAX Illumination: MIXTRAX features a club-style illumination that enhances the mood with a dynamic dance club-like lighting effect. As MIXTRAX begins, lights start pulsing to the beat of the music, adding an extra level of entertainment. You can choose different patterns of lighting variations from sound pressure level or low-pass synchronization modes. The lighting effects work like a spectrum analyzer, reaching peak colors based on the intensity of the music

Clock Display: When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns off audio output, but the clock display and button illumination remains on (you can press the "DISP" button to turn off). When the Clock Display has been turned off, pressing and holding the "SRC" button turns the unit off completely. Even if you have turned the radio completely off you can view the clock display by pressing the "DISP" button. The clock will then remain On until you turn it back Off. When the unit is On, you can select between the clock display or the audio track/tuner display.

    Remote Control

Advanced Remote Control App (for Apple iOS & Android): Download the Pioneer ARC (Advanced Remote Control) App onto your Apple iOS (8.0+) or Android (4.1+) device to turn your smartphone or tablet device into a remote control for the Pioneer head unit. Your Apple iOS device can be connected via USB or Bluetooth, while your Android device can only be connected via USB. • Song/Artist Info + Album Art: The Pioneer Advanced Remote Control App provides song/artist information with album art for the music stored on your Apple iOS or Android device. You also get station identification for AM/FM radio; if an AM/FM station supports RDS, you will even get song/artist info. In addition, you get track number for CD playback.
    • Favorites: The app lets you quickly display radio stations saved as favorites, plus favorite songs in your Apple iOS or Android device's music library. From the Favorite screen, you also get access to contacts saved as "favorites" on your smartphone.
    • Select Apps: From the Pioneer ARC app, you can also pick from select music apps (like Pandora, iHeart, Spotify, TuneIn) that are installed on your Apple iOS or Android device. Once you select a specific music app, that particular music app opens on your mobile device for playback control.
Note: If you switch to other applications and functions, such as using other iOS device or Android applications or placing calls from your smartphone, you must restart the Pioneer ARC app on your iOS device or Android device.

Wireless Remote Control: The DEH-X6800BT comes with an IR wireless remote control. The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between sources, pause playback, skip music tracks, change display info, and answer/end Bluetooth phone call. You can also mute the volume (function that cannot be performed from the front panel).

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Good reviews [ Michael  May 19, 2016 ]
I purchases an older model of this stereo a few years back for my 2002 Chevy Tahoe and it's worked great. It immediately improved the sound of my stock speaker system and had no need to upgrade. I am so happy with the last purchase of the DEH-6500BT I decided to purchase this newer model DEH-6800 to install in my son's 2007 Mini. If it works anything like the other I will be extremely happy! The bluetooth works great, easy to sync, sound is excellent, and it's easy to use. [ JOHN W  May 16, 2016 ]

    Great reviews [ Ernest  Apr 13, 2016 ]
Less annoying interface than other brands. Would still prefer it if the front-panel buttons were larger. Touchscreen systems are worse than useless: taking your eyes off the road long enough to figure what you're poking is dangerous. [ Alex  Apr 04, 2016 ]
Bought this receiver for 2 other cars. Simple to use, has all the features I was looking for and reasonably priced. [ David  Apr 01, 2016 ]

The DEH-X6800BT is a nice head unit at a lower price point. It offers great connectivity options and a decent user interface. It's definitely not an audiophile grade head unit, for that it needs an external amp, but it is a nice way to keep your hands on the wheel and still have access to your phone features. [ CHANCE  Dec 26, 2015 ]
    I like Pioneer products. Thanks [ Kim  Dec 18, 2015 ]

HI, Seth, this is Michael, I'm actually the one with the Pioneer. Yes, it does show the time all of the time, but only if you set it to. You have quite a selection for what shows on the display. [ Helene  Aug 24, 2016 ]
It handles multiple phones pretty well, and when it's not being temperamental it syncs right up to known phones. I think I 4 phones are held in memory. lt occasionally gets cranky and drops one or more phones causing one to erase them from memory and painfullyreconnect. Syncing phone to the unit is automatic and usually happens quickly. [ William  Aug 19, 2016 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Kenny  Aug 12, 2016 ]  Staff
It will charge my Samsung(5S) while streaming so I would guess it would similarly charge your iPhone. I don't use the USB anymore to stream... I use the Bluetooth... much more convenient to be wireless. [ Benjamin  Jun 28, 2016 ]
    Yes!! [ Yasar  Jun 28, 2016 ]
It charges my 6s plus. Would assume the same for all [ ashley  Jun 28, 2016 ]
    Yes [ Austin  Jun 13, 2016 ]
I see no reason it shouldn't be. I use this with my iPhone 6S with no problems. [ William  Jun 13, 2016 ]
    I don't know. The 6 with that v. iOS did, though. [ Cauley  Jun 12, 2016 ]
Should be auxiliary cable, Bluetooth and USB cable compatible with just about any devices capable of those means of communication. Hands free phone and media control via Bluetooth will vary from phone to phone depending on OS and make. [ Paul  Jun 12, 2016 ]
It is able to pair with the blue tooth on a cell phone, not sure About an external speaker, but in "Theory" it should work. [ Rudy  Jun 07, 2016 ]
I don't think it matters. The radio has RCA OUT jacks in the back for the front, and then rear or sub. I have a 4 channel amp that runs two stock front speakers and an 8" Kicker sub. The amp rating of the amplifier doesn't matter to the radio when you are using the low power RCA OUT jacks as the input to the amp. Your vehicle's electrical system and watt rating of the speakers will be your only limiting factor. The radio's built-in amp is only rated for 50 watts. Hope this helps. [ Scott  May 31, 2016 ]
Yep it has two Audio cable ports. Right and Left front and right and left sub. [ Samuel  May 31, 2016 ]
Thanks for pointing that out Nicholas. We had it incorrectly listed under the Features and Specs table on our website and that has since been corrected. The Pioneer DEH-X6800BT does indeed support Siris Eyes-Free Control as indicated in our Product Research. I hope that helps. My Bio: [ Larry  May 25, 2016 ]  Staff
The phone call takes priority no matter the source of music. [ JOHN  May 15, 2016 ]
Yes. Every Pioneer head unit I've installed does this. If you have your iPod plugged it I believe it pauses the music. It should also automatically bring the volume up for taking a call to a suitable volume. Then return to the last volume you had it at. [ Carleton  May 15, 2016 ]
Yes it certainly does. [ Erik  May 15, 2016 ]
    Yes it will [ Joe  May 15, 2016 ]
Yes, it is supposed to work that way. [ DOUG  May 15, 2016 ]
    Yes. [ Ginero  May 15, 2016 ]
Yes the phone works very well on this stereo and yes the music stops and you talk thru the radio via a small speaker they provide. [ Josh  May 14, 2016 ]
Yes. You can also disable the ringer. The music just stops which will get your attention. That way if you have the call volume up loud, the ringer won't blast you out of the vehicle. [ TIMOTHY A  May 14, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. The specs are correct. This receiver does not have the controls for satellite radio and also does not have the appropriate jack on the back to make a connection. Hope that helps. [ Kenny  May 04, 2016 ]  Staff
Absolutely! I use this unit daily by connecting via bluetooth to my android phone. Take calls, listen to music, etc. [ Alan  May 04, 2016 ]

My mustang has the Mach sound system, the previous owner had an aftermarket receiver/ CD player installed that had a connector adapter for the speaker wires. I used this setup because the new connector adapter to use the new RCA connectors would not plug in properly. It seems the small pins in the plug do not line up nor stay in play well enough to make the proper connection. I also have the same receiver in my jeep and couldn't be more pleased. Hope this helps. [ JOHN  Mar 21, 2016 ]
This radio will handle all six speakers utilizing the vehicle specific wiring harness - the vehicle I installed this radio has a similar set up. You have full control adjustments from side to side (balance) and front to rear (fade). [ Benjamin  Mar 21, 2016 ]
I've only found that it has seek. [ Benjamin  Mar 21, 2016 ]
The unit is excellent. it does indeed have both balance and fader controls, meaning you can adjust the sound left/right (balance) as well as front to back (fade). The Seek function scans to the next available strong signal and stops on it. You must press the button again to seek the next available channel up or down the "dial". Easy way to find stations, and then I believe you just hold one of the preset station buttons to assign the current station to said preset button. As for handling 6 speakers, I am not sure about this. My 944 has speakers in the doors, and speakers in the back seat side panels, which it handles just fine. I am not even using the rear sub channel yet, though I plan to add a sub and amp at some point. [ Stacy  Mar 21, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. This unit is approximately 7.1". I'm not finding that exact model # for comparison. For information on comparing two or more models I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences and help you make the best choice for your system and your budget. [ Kenny  Mar 04, 2016 ]  Staff

Yes, it syncs with your address book. [ Ryan  Feb 29, 2016 ]
Absolutely. The Pioneer speakers are very efficient so they will work well off the power of most aftermarket stereos (including this one). I have 3 of these radios. Neither does this though. HOWEVER, one of the radios doesn't read the broadcast info correctly, but the other two do. I think you have a defective radio. My guess is that these aren't a high quality built radios. Cheap parts. I have just learned to tolerate the jumble of broadcast info. Changing sources every time I turn the vehicle on would drive me nuts! [ Scott  Feb 19, 2016 ]
Hey Mike, doesn't sound right to me. Mine does not do that. [ Richard  Feb 18, 2016 ]
I've not experience that. I leave mine set on bluetooth and it connects and starts playing shortly after I turn on my vehicle. [ Jon  Feb 18, 2016 ]
hi Michael, we have the 6800 in a 03 Malibu and the very similar 6700 in a 03 mpv and have not experienced anything unusual with their function/performance. i'll also add that I have been using pioneer home and auto receivers for 30+ years and have only experienced a speaker channel failure on a home receiver. have you contacted pioneer and/or the seller for a exchange ? hope this helps you to regain some confidence in pioneer products. ken. [ kenneth  Feb 18, 2016 ]
I haven't had any issues with mine changing sources. I would say it is a bug with yours and I can see your frustration. [ JOHN  Feb 18, 2016 ]

Yes here too. I have mine orange to match the car's interior dash lights. My Bronco has green buttons and white LCD, my wife has all green. Yes, we bought 3 of these and are pleased with them, although one gets the digital broadcast info jumbled a bit. [ Scott  May 31, 2016 ]
Yes. In fact, you can set it to any shade of color you wish and have it stay on that one color. I have mine set to a solid color of blue to match my dash lights. [ Alan  Jan 29, 2016 ]

I have an iPhone 6 and the most recent update and I have no issues. Pandora can be a bit buggy at times but other than that everything works great. I was actually surprised at well this radio works. I don't think that you will have any issues with it at all. [ Justin  Dec 30, 2015 ]
Yes. You can use your iPhone wirelessly via the built-in Bluetooth or for music playback and charging of the phone's battery when connected to the USB port. You will find this information, and more, by clicking the "Details" tab on the stereo's main webpage and scrolling down below the "Features & Specs" table. I hope that helps! I installed this in my 95 Mustang, and it does dim with the headlights, but I had to alter the harness slightly from the provided instructions. The signal from the car that tells the radio to dim was being sent to an unconnected pin in the radio adapter harness. I switched two pins and the radio dimmed as expected. I'm not saying you'll have the same issue, but if your stock unit dims with the headlights, this one will too. [ Keith  Nov 26, 2015 ]
I am sorry but I can't answer this question. I bought this as a gift for someone who drives a 2005 Honda Accord. All I know she loves this radioI. Maybe Crutchfield can help answer this question. I hope this helps. [ Alice  Nov 25, 2015 ]

Yes, the receiver includes a small microphone on a long, thin cable. The microphone cable is plugged into the back of the receiver, and you can place the microphone in a location that is convenient for your particular installation. The manual recommends placing the microphone in a location where it will clearly 'hear' the driver's speech. The microphone also includes a small, black plastic clip that is designed to be attached to a sun visor. The microphone clicks into that clip via a ball and socket connection. The microphone can therefore be swiveled around and adjusted to point in different directions. The plastic clip also has double-sided tape on the back, so it can be stuck to the dashboard if you don't want to clip it to your sun visor. My car (Miata) has the sun visors removed, so I stuck the microphone clip to a part of the dash between the ignition and the radio via the double-sided tape. The wire attached to the mic is very thin, and I had no problem fitting the wire between the gaps in my dash. Therefore, I only had about a 4 inch length of wire exposed after install. Before doing final install with the double-sided tape, I'd recommend finding a location that isn't going to get bumped, jarred, etc. during your typical motions while driving. In my case, I practiced putting the keys into my ignition to make sure I wasn't going to be constantly bumping the mic when I did so, and that I wouldn't be hitting it with my knees, etc. [ Jeffrey J.  Sep 28, 2015 ]
Microphone w/ sunvisor clip (attached 13' cable terminated by a right-angle male 2.5mm connector) is included with this receiver. [ Jeff  Sep 09, 2015 ]  Staff
