Overview: The Panasonic SH-FX85 is a wireless multi-room speaker kit for quality sound in up to 3 additional rooms of your home when used with a compatible wireless-ready Panasonic home theater system. Not only will the SH-FX85 receiver audio from your wireless-ready home theater system, it also has its own 3.5mm Music Port for connecting an external audio source to the unit so you can enjoy multi-zone with multi-source capabilities. The SH-FX85 wireless multi-room kit comes supplied with one powered speaker with a built-in wireless receiver and one digital transmitter module that attaches to your compatible Panasonic home theater system.

Digital Transmitter: The wireless system kit comes with a Digital Transmitter Module that plugs into the back of your compatible Panasonic home theater system. This transmitter will then transmit audio wirelessly to the kit's wireless powered speaker that is positioned in another room of your home, office or business. The audio is transmitted wirelessly over a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The transmitter and the wireless speaker can be placed up to 98 feet apart. You can use up to three wireless sound systems at the same time in different rooms.

Wireless Powered Speaker: The other part of the system is the Wireless Powered Speaker that receives the wireless audio transmission through its built-in 2.4 GHz wireless module from your compatible Panasonic home theater system when connected to the supplied Digital Transmitter. It contains a 17.5 watt RMS per channel digital stereo amplifier at a frequency of 150 Hz to 20 kHz in 6-ohm with a 1% total harmonic distortion to drive its dual 2.5" cone type full-range drivers inside its bass-reflex enclosure. The Wireless Powered Speaker will need to plugged into an AC outlet for power. In addition to being able to listen to the music being played by your home theater system in another room, the Wireless Powered Speaker also allows you to wirelessly control basic functions from your home theater system, such as preset AM/FM selections and Skip, Play, and Pause of CD tracks. The Wireless Powered Speaker features independent volume controls from your home theater system. 

Music Port: The Wireless Powered Speaker features a rear-panel 3.5mm stereo audio port which allows you to connect an external audio source to the unit such as a portable MP3 player. This allows you use the SH-FX85 independently as a stand-alone unit.

iPod Compatible: The SH-FX85 can be directly connected to your iPod and even charge your iPod using the optional Panasonic Universal iPod Dock (SH-PD10, sold separately). The iPod's volume is controlled from the SH-FX85, while all other playback, search and menu controls are still operated from your iPod. When used with the optional SH-PD10 Universal iPod Dock the SH-FX85 is compatible with the following iPod models.
