A sound that is somewhere between digital and analogue. Which is to say that the latest digital devices are really good, just not quite the same as a high end turntable. Feed it a good recording and it will keep you entertained without the edginess of old school digital devices. I didn't think I would get much use from the streamer but now that is what I listen to most often. The selection of stations a streamer offers is vast and the sound quality is better than either FM or satellite radio. It did take many hours of break-in time to reach peak sound quality. I am running this in a system that consists of a Linn LP12 turntable and Naim Audio amplifiers. Every once in a while a mass market company makes something that challenges a specialist company for sound. Yes it was awkward to say the least to set up, but once I got through that process its day to day usage is easy if you can wait while it works through your requests. I am using an iPad to control it when streaming.

Excellent piece. Sound from disk spinning is excellent Streaming is well-done. Remote is overblown and cumbersome, and controls are slow to respond.

Excellent streamer, marred only by a app that needs further development. In the quest for "one remotes fits all", The supplied remote is to busy (as it's setup for all Azur components)

Great CD player, premium construction, sleek motion, easy interface, complete control. I bought it together with the Technics SL-GU700 amp: wonderful set. Mounted with AudioQuest Mackenzie cables for better sound than the cable provided in the box.
Pros: Premium HiFi
Cons: AirPlay2 has some glitches sometimes.

It's been a week since I received my Technics Streaming SACD/CD player from Crutchfield and I couldn't be more happy with the player selection & excellent service received once my purchase was made. Shipping container was doubled boxed by Crutchfield to ensure my delivery was fully protected since it was shipped all the way to Oahu, Hawaii and I did pay the extra $74 for the 2 day UPS shipping which I believe is well worth it. The SL-G700 I must say was not my 1st choice when looking through the players available on the website at this price range and almost overlooked this wonderful player; but once I did more research on line it became a no brainer due to all the capabilities it offers, from the high quality of DAC to the design and components used. It replaced a 11 year old Krell KAV-280cd player that was unrepairable even at the Krell factory but the SL- G700 has made me a happy camper once again; no matter what genre of music played from my large CD collection it clearly blows me away again & again!!! Can't wait to try the streaming functions in the near future once I become reacquainted with the CD collection.

I bought this about 4 months ago. I have to remark though that this is a wonderful player. SACDs never sounded so good. CDs also sound wonderful. USB inputs on the front and back can play music from attached drives. The IOS app works reasonably well at selecting music from USB, and controlling certain functions of the player, although a recent app update introduced a slight bug and I'd expect them to fix it pretty quick. Certain functions of the player are easier to control from the app than they are the remote. The player can use 3 selectable filters for the DAC. I prefer #3. I have yet to try out any of the streaming available like Tidal, etc, but I hear they work well. I did stream XM from my iPhone using airplay2. The player sounds well balanced, highs are crisp and smooth, but never overly bright or harsh. Soundstage is wide and everything sounds very smooth. I can't recommend this player enough. This player blew away the Oppo BDP-95 that it replaced.
Pros: Smooth balance presentation Supports Available streaming services. Playback from USB Good app for selection and player control
