Customer Q&A

Q
Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
A
Quality [ Wayne  Nov 05, 2018 ]
A
This is one of the only pre-fabbed boxes that would fit the required dimensions for my project. Excellent reviews, sturdy grille with small holes. Slim profile for a sneaky installation above spare tire in trunk. [ Matthew  Aug 09, 2018 ]

Big Bass in a small space. [ eric  May 23, 2018 ]

I have had jl audio subs before and I really like the quality of sound and am hooked for life [ Peter  Feb 08, 2018 ]
A
4 years later still performas excellent [ BYRON  May 18, 2017 ]

I want a small, but high quality sub for my 2016 Ford F-150 Super Crew to improve the sound and fill in the low-end while generating tight, clean bass that drives without shaking the windows / booming down the road. I have a wife and 7 yr old and just want great sound in my truck. I bought the 8" ported JL Audio Sub too but I am gonna try this one just in case the 8" isn't the sound I am looking for. It will fit perfectly under the rear passenger seat and the black carpeting will blend in well. [ John  Apr 05, 2017 ]
A
Size of enclosure and great reviews. [ Darin  Jul 25, 2016 ]
A
This sub-woofer enclosure is nearly the exact dimensions of half the sub-floor in the cargo area of my car. The installer cut a round hole in the cargo floor that the speaker grill come through. It's very custom looking. I used the other half of the sub-floor for amps, EQ and power distribution. JL Audio good quality subs. [ Gregory  Jul 17, 2016 ]

Because it's JL! Need I.say more? [ Mar Anthony  Jul 10, 2016 ]

Q
What amplifier would be good for one of these im thinking jx 500/1D, would this be a good amplifier?
[ eric  Nov 20, 2018 ]
4 answers
A
The JL Audio JX500/1D is the perfect amp to power this speaker. I'm running one on my 2017 F250 and I'm very pleased with the bass it can produce. Having some amp overhead is what you want, in doing so first you are getting the maximum performance out of the speaker and second since the amp is rated at a higher wattage than the speaker in your case, the amp operates nice and cool without overworking it too hard.

I chose an Alpine MRV M-250 and it's a perfect match. 250 Watts at 2 ohms.

I'm running mine with the Rockford Fosgste Prime R250x1. Thing sounds great for a low cost amp.

Q
Is the grill removable or is it part of the speaker?
[ Jimmy  Dec 05, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
The steel mesh grille comes pre mounted on the JL Audio CS110LG-TW3, but you can also manually remove it with a Philip's head screw driver. If you would like to discuss further, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. I hope that helps!

I don't know, I'm sorry, as I don't know how much space is under that seat. If you go to JL's website, you can get the dimensions of the enclosure.

i installed it on a 2014 Sierra four door. It fit well below the rear passenger seat. Hopefully this helps.

Q
Is the 6 1/4" depth including the speaker grill, or the actual box dimension?
[ Dusty  Sep 05, 2014 ]

It's including the grill. I'm cutting a hole in my floor to allow the grill to poke through. The actual depth is less than 5". It's about 4.5"
