Features

Overview: The JL Audio BassWedge sealed subwoofer enclosure is designed around JL Audio's 12" WXv2 subwoofer, delivering tight, powerful bass. The MDF enclosure is covered with gray carpet and has a JL AUDIO logo embroidered across the top.

Speaker Terminal: The enclosure uses one pair of high current spring posts. The posts are located on the left side of the box and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

WXv2 Woofer Features:

  • Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA): DMA is a JL Audio proprietary method of improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, the woofer's motor remains linear in motor force over a long excursion range, and maintains a stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. The result is reduced distortion, faithfully reproduced transients, and tight, clean, articulate bass.
  • Elevated Frame Cooling: The elevated frame design of the 12WXv2 delivers cool air through slots directly above the top-plate to the voice coil. This not only enhances power handling, but also sound quality by minimizing dynamic parameter shifts and power compression.
  • Rear Gasket: The woofer has an integrated foam rear gasket which provides an optimal seal when installing into the enclosure.

Optional Grille: The optional SGRU-12 grille (item number 136SGR1231, sold separately) can be added to protect the woofer cone.

Customer Q&A

4 questions already asked

Q
Can I use the Kenwood Kay-7202 with this sub?
[ John  Jun 22, 2016 ]
3 answers
A
Yes. The power rating for the sub is 4ohms running between 70 and 200 watts rms. It looks like a single channel of the Kenwood Kac-7202 is 150 watts rms at 4ohms. So just keep it on stereo mode only running through one channel and it will be perfect.
[ Jasen  Jun 22, 2016 ]
A
Yes

A
Do you mean kac-7202? If so it says bridged 4 ohm 460w, so it has more than enough power. Just make sure you follow the guides here on properly setting your gain, i would use the multimeter and test tones before hooking up the sub itself so you dont blow it. Once set you should be good to go.

Q
Can this enclosure be used in a down firing position?
[ Kenya  Nov 19, 2015 ]

A
See no reason why you couldn't. There is a slight ridge on the front that shoud prevent prevent driver from bottoming.
[ RONALD H  Nov 21, 2015 ]
A
Yes, the edges on the front side of the box will make sure the sub does not hit the ground/floor if on flat surface

Q
I have an old 10" eclipse chrome face in the back of my 2001 Jeep grand cherokee hooked up to an ancient 250 watt amp (given to me from my uncle so i really don't know much about it). Would you recommend getting a new amp for this sub or no?
[ MikeT  Mar 15, 2014 ]
1 answer
A
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
