About the JL Audio 15W0v3-4
The JL Audio name means high-quality sound, and the 15W0v3-4 15" subwoofer doesn't come up short when delivering trademark JL performance. You'll find patented technologies like an optimized motor system that promotes precise, linear cone movement, plus advanced cooling systems throughout the frame for rapid heat dissipation.
This W0v3 Series sub features a tough polypropylene cone that resists flexing, and a durable foam surround that'll stand up to hard use. The cone's extra-long excursion capability lets it hit truly deep notes without distorting, while the hefty 2.5-inch voice coil drives the woofer accurately for top-notch performance under extreme conditions.
The patented elevated frame design delivers air flow directly to the voice coil, cooling it for better power handling. JL Audio designed this sub to work in compact sealed or medium-sized ported enclosures.

JL Audio 15W0v3-4 reviews
I purchased the JL audio 15" woofer and powered it with a rockford 325i amplifer. I purchased a JL jx1000 amp and connected the woofer at a 4ohm load, so powered around 500 rms. Sub hit hard but blew the sub within the first day. So I would not recommend this woofer for any amp pushing over 500 watt rms.
Pros: Clean bass, hits hard..
Cons: For the price I expected it to with stand at least 500 rms...but blew my woofer within 30 days of purchase

I love this beast! For the price and power capacity, this thing can hit hard! I have a pioneer GM-A5602 amp pushing 450w on it and a box tuned to 29hz. It sounds amazing pointed up towards the roof of my ramcharger!
Pros: -High efficiency -Loud -No overheating problems
Cons: -1 month in and no cons so far

Decent sub for the price, with good sound quality and deep, rumbling bass. The sound reproduction is slightly ''vagued out'', but I think that is due to how my sub is setup. I have one of these running off a JL 360.2 JX series amp with 4gauge wiring front to back, and the amp pushes this sub easy with no stress whatsoever. The sub feels like quality, the build is strong. Would recommend to those who enjoy bass heavy music in their cars.
Pros: Good deep bass, decent build quality, JL audio (need I say more)
Cons: Bass can be overpowering at times, might not work well for all genres of music (unless you have a bass remote to control the sub on command)

Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA): DMA is JL Audio's proprietary method aimed at improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, 15W0v3-4 motors display linear force over a long excursion range, and also maintain a stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. The result is reduced distortion, faithfully reproduced transients, and tight, clean, articulate bass.
Elevated Frame Cooling: The elevated frame design of the 12W0v3-4 delivers cool air through slots directly above the top plate to the voice coil. This not only enhances power handling, but also sound quality by minimizing dynamic parameter shifts and power compression.
Rear Gasket: The woofer has a rear gasket to provide an optimal seal when installing into the enclosure.
Long Excursion: The 15W0v3-4 subwoofer has 12.7mm of linear excursion, giving you louder bass with less distortion.
Recommended Sealed Box Volume: JL Audio recommends a 1.875 ft³ sealed box. A diagram is provided in the owner's manual for a sealed box with external dimensions of 16" W x 15.75" H x 18" D, assuming 3/4" thick material. (If you are using 5/8" thick materials, you should subtract 1/4" from each dimension.)
Recommended Ported Box Volume: JL Audio recommends a 2.75 ft³ ported box. A diagram is provided in the owner's manual for a sealed box with external dimensions of 20" W x 18" H x 18.5" D, assuming 3/4" thick material. (If you are using 5/8" thick materials, you should subtract 1/4" from each dimension.) A round port with a diameter of 4" and a length of 16.85" is recommended, resulting in a tuning frequency of 25 Hz and a -3 dB point of 30 Hz.
