Definitely what I expected from a JL package. Solid and handles the low end well. It is a little boomy and takes some tweaking to get the sound curve correct.

I've had my CP212-W0V3 BassWedge for almost a year now and I still get compliments on how good my low-end is in my vehicle. I have mine powered by the JL Audio XD600/1v2. As others said, they are not the loudest subwoofers, but for the price, these do their intended purpose very well, and that's to provide full and responsive bass to your sound system. I highly recommend this product. Can't go wrong with JL Audio.

Pros: Great sound quality, easy installation, affordable.

Cons: Not as loud as some competitors.

I have this loaded enclosure, powered by a JL XD600/1v2 amp. The enclosure sounds fantastic and looks great. It hits the lows exceptionally well. When powered properly, it produces more bass than *most* would want or need; It renders my rear view mirror useless and at higher volumes is certainly capable of shaking the vehicles next to me. It's a great option for entry to mid level set ups. You won't be winning any competitions with the wattage, but for clean, deep bass I'd highly recommend it. It really shines with rap and hip hop, but still sounds great with heavy double bass metal. Purchased mine locally, but want to provide feedback for those on the fence. Highly recommend.

If great sound, and powerful bass is what you're looking for this is it. I've had mine since April and these things bang. I have a JL Audio jx1000/d monoblock pushing them. Of course I'm not pushing the full 1000 rms to them but I'm pushing every bit of the 600 rms they're designed to handle. I have them in an 01 impala ls and the slot ported basswedge box fits all the way up against the backseat. I absolutely love them. I hear no distortion whatsoever. U better get u a set I'm telling u.

Pros: Amazing clean sound capable of handling real power.

I purchased this to replace prefab box where I kept blowing the speakers that I put into them. That box sounded good other than having to replace the speakers every 1-2 years. It's just that this box is made by JL for their subs and man do they sound awesome. The lows were what I was looking for and lows is what I got. It has the sound quality and impact I was looking for as well. For those who may complain about price, all I can say is you get what you pay for.

Pros: Sound quality and build quality.

Cons: It took up more trunk space than I'd like. So, for those that need it, measure.

Got mine locally from a chain here in Texas. Great deal for the money! I have them on my RF 500w mono amp and they have amazing sound through all different types of music. Yes box is slightly big but its built for proper airspace and porting for these subs. I like option to flip and have them down fire, how I have mine in my SUV so still can use lower storage compartment and hold stuff.

Pros: Excellent sound, quality, can run a very wide frequency spectrum, down fire, sturdy construction

Cons: Other then being heavy which isn't really bad bkx doesn't move and you know it's built very well!

I've always been a fan of JL Audio subs and amps and this box of 12s does not disappoint. I've always built my boxes before, but this factory built box has been a great experience. I will definitely buy JL Audio again in the future.

Pros: Amazing bass and appearance

Cons: The box is kinda big and isn't custom built for the car, but the the front and back angled edges definitely fit against the rear seat better than expected, which saved some room. All in all it is a lot of bass for the amount of space it takes up and I still have enough of a trunk left for golf clubs and groceries... Also, doesn't come with the speaker grilles but I bought them at the same time and all was good.

Pretty Great So Far

I always hated seeing reviews of items that people have had for only a month, but here I am doing the same thing. I've had these about a month, and they bump real hard. I upgraded from the less expensive version of these and there is a noticeable difference. These hit the lows and highs much better and can handle a lot more watts than my other subs that I had. If you're also looking at the less expensive WXv2's, I suggest you go with these because they sound much better. Just for a little more money it makes a huge difference in sound quality. Make sure you have an amp that can power these to their full potential. These are two ohm subwoofers so getting an amp with around 500 Watts RMS at two ohms will be just fine. I'll try to update this if I find any problems with them.

Pros: Size, Watt Handling, Style, Power, Wide Range of Bass.

Cons: Expensive but that's the price you pay for quality.

These subs blew away my expectations. I turned up the gain on these from my amp and my trunk rattles like a chainsaw. My windshield wipers actually rattle also, and my rear view mirror is useless at times. I was upgrading from one 12" sub and these sound way louder then I thought they would! Impressed.

Pros: Nice sound, great quality enclosure

Cons: A little on the expensive side, but worth it!

Features

Overview: The JL Audio slot-ported BassWedge subwoofer enclosure is designed around two of JL Audio's 12" W0v3-4 (4Ω) subwoofers. Aggressive tuning delivers powerful bass without the need for a huge amplifier. The MDF enclosure is covered with gray carpet and has JL AUDIO logos embroidered across the top and front. The enclosure design offers a variety of installation options: forward, rear or down firing. The slot-port runs along the bottom of the enclosure and fires on the same plane as the woofer; the port mouth is flared to minimize air-flow noises.

Speaker Terminal: The enclosure uses one pair of nickel-plated, high current spring posts. The posts are located on the left side of the box and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

W0v3 Woofer Features:

  • Dynamic Motor Analysis (DMA): DMA is JL Audio's proprietary method of improving dynamic motor behavior. As a result of DMA optimization, the 12W0v3-4 motor displays linear force over a long excursion range, and also maintains a stable fixed magnetic field in the gap over a wide power range. The result is a reduced distortion, faithfully reproduced transients, and tight, clean, articulate bass.
  • Elevated Frame Cooling: The elevated frame design of the 12W0v3-4 delivers cool air through slots directly above the top plate to the voice coil. This not only enhances power handling, but also sound quality by minimizing dynamic parameter shifts and power compression.
  • Rear Gasket: The woofer has a rear gasket to provide an optimal seal when installing into the enclosure.
  • Long Excursion: The subwoofer has an Xmax of 11.4mm, giving you louder bass with less distortion.

Optional Grille: The optional SGRU-12 grilles (item number 136SGR1231, sold separately and individually) can be added to protect the woofer cones.

Dimensions: The CP212-W0v3 enclosure isn't symmetrical; it's approximately 31-5/8" wide, 15-1/4" tall at its tallest point (toward the front), 12-7/8" tall at its shorted point (toward the back), 20-5/8" deep at the base, and 16-5/8" deep at the top.

I own a 2018 Mustang GT which position is recommended rear fire downfire front fire CP212 WOV3 BASSWEDGE recommended for this box?
[ Charles  Feb 05, 2019 ]

A
This box is designed to be used in any position you wish, and the subwoofers will function properly regardless. In my experience, I tend to keep my subs rear-facing and as far away from the rear of the trunk as possible, but I have heard that down-firing subs can add a lot of punch to your low-end, with a very minute sacrifice of sound clarity.
[ Kolton  Feb 07, 2019 ]
A
I've personally always went with front or rear, no complaints with either, the subs definitely do their job no matter what position you got them in, the position you gottem in is really more preference than science or whatever, depending on what type of music ur bumpin and how it sounds you may want to change the position here and there, which is fairly easy to do as long as you can lift the subs outta the car and reposition them accordingly. Best of luck bruther, hope this helped.

I prefer the rear fire in my 4runner. Of course I listen to mainly rock and metal. Down fire sounded a little boomy to me.

I don't believe it will, with the heigh of the box even in the down firing position it will be to thick. But the best way to be sure is to measure the dimensions behind the seat. I think a good way to do so would be rear hatch closed, lay down one side an measure the other sides distance from the hatch to the bottom of the seat back, then the hatch to the top of the seat back.

Sorry, no. We found 14" of available height in the factory trunk location and this enclosure is 15.25" tall. I hope that helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5

Q
Hello, I'm confused about the right amp to get for these subs. I was thinking about buying the jl audio xd600/1v2. Would this amp work? If not, which amp would you recommend to fully play these subs to their full potential? Thanks in advance!

I wont a good product but the price tag on the new one is a little high. So i was wondering about the open box one and the scratch and dent one. Like what is the difference between the two. And if i wont a mlike new better condition product which one should i get?

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The open box stock item on that JL Audio CP212-W0v3 will be the better of the two since it won't have any marks on it at all. If the customer wants to say money, the scratch and dent will do that but it will have a minor blemish on it. Both open box and scratch and dent items carry the full 60-day return policy, lifetime product support and factory warranty. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Each sub has a 4-ohm impedance and they are wired in parallel to have a total box impedance of 2-ohms. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
How much louder do you think it is than one JL 12 inch sealed sub? Will this work well inside of a trunk of a 02 Corolla S?

A
Ported is always louder than sealed in my opinion. I think you would gain a lot since you would be doubling your output with two subs and swithing to a ported enclosure. If your rear seats fold down then it will work well, I could be heard from a good distance, set off an alarm or two and had many people roll up windows in traffic when next to me lol. I enjoyed every minute with these, slight trunk flex too
