Compatibility: The JL Audio MMR-20-BE wired remote controller is designed specifically for JL Audio's MediaMaster MM100S BE marine source unit (13699920, sold separately). You will need a 6' or 25' wired remote extension cable (13699914 / 13699905; both sold separately). The MMR-20-BE remote can be installed up to 75' away from the MM100S source unit.
IP67 Water-Resistance Rating: The MMR-20-BE wired remote controller has been tested to withstand immersion in water, up to 1 meter (3.28 ft.) deep, for up to 30 minutes (when properly installed). While designed to be water-resistant, the MMR-20-BE should never be submerged under water for prolonged periods or subjected to activity that creates pressure on it that exceeds its depth rating.
Expandable: You can install up to three MMR-20-BE wired remote controllers to one MediaMaster MM100S BE marine source unit. A Y-splitter (13699908, sold separately) will be required to add more than one remote control. Each remote must be installed within 75' of the MM100S source unit.
Backlit Controls: Large, backlit controls and source indicators are easy-to-see and easy-to-use, day or night.

1 answer I have a JL Audio MMR-20-BE to install on the rear area of my boat. I want it to be reachable when in the water. Is the unit waterproof, or water resistant? I would like to mount it on the side of my extended swim platform, which will put it about 6-8" above the water line. I have a 27' Formula F-27 PC (cabin cruiser style), which is heavy and does not bounce a whole lot. I use my boat in freshwater only. I am sure the until will get water on all sides if I mount it here, but will be fairly dry the majority of the time. The boat is trailer kept, and does not sit in the water overnight more than a couple days a year. -- If you have a suggestion on how to better seal the backside, that would be helpful also. In this location, I expect the front will only experience rain, with the back side receiving splash from using the ladder, loading/unloading from trailer, large waves while idle, and while driving around the lake. The JL Audio MMR-20-BE marine remote is designed as "weatherproof" with an IP67 rating (meaning its protected from water immersion between 5.9 inches and 39.37 inches for up to 30 minutes). So it could potentially be used on the side of your boat at the swim platform. For more details or to discuss further, please contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat.
