The HD-RLC remote level controller works with JL Audio's HD SeriesXD Series, and MHD Series amplifiers and many marine amps, allowing you to manage your level settings from the front of your vehicle. The HD-RLC adjusts your amplifier's level, not its "bass boost," so you maintain the same bass quality as you turn the volume up and down.

It works equally well with subwoofer and full-range amplifiers, and you can control multiple amplifiers with just one remote by adding standard phone cable splitter (not included). When used with the HD600/4 4-channel amplifier, you can assign it to control all channels, or the rear channels only.

Features

Overview: The JL Audio HD-RLC Remote Level Control is compatible with JL Audio HD and MHD series amplifiers. The HD-RLC attenuates the level of JL Audio HD and MHD amplifiers equipped with a Remote Level Control connector. The HD-RLC can be used as a true subwoofer level control or as a master volume control. Multiple amplifiers can be controlled with one HD-RLC by adding a standard phone cable splitter (sold separately).

Note: The HD-RLC is not compatible with JL Audio amplifiers which feature a Remote Bass Port. In this case you would need the JL Audio RBC-1 controller, sold separately.

Will this remote work for a JD250/1?
[ CHENG  Aug 12, 2022 ]

A
Greetings Cheng, and thank you for your question. No, it will not. That remote is for the JL HD series amplifiers. What you will need for the JD 250/1 is the RBC-1 remote.

Q
Would this work for a jl audio monoblock 500/1 subwoofer amp?
[ Raudel  Oct 12, 2020 ]

A
It should if the amp has the advanced bass control feature. You can look on the front panel of the amp and see if it has the port.....it looks similar to a phone/ethernet cable jack port.

Q
I have a XD 600 powering JL full range speakers on my boat. Will this control the total volume or just bass?
[ Perhamj7  Jul 18, 2020 ]
4 answers
A
It only does the bass
[ DAVID  Jul 29, 2020 ]
A
That will power the sub channel only
[ Chalkly  Jul 21, 2020 ]
A
It will control just the bass.
[ Aaron  Jul 18, 2020 ]
A
It will control total volume. The bass knob only controls bass only if you have subs hooked up to the subwoofer outputs. It doesn't differentiate bass...just amount of gain.
[ David  Jul 18, 2020 ]
Q
how do I get the knob off for install? I had one already and pulled it out but when I went to put it back together it just sat there and spun freely.
[ ANDREW  Jul 30, 2019 ]

A
the jl audio rlc knob i have slides right off with med light pressure by hand. exposing the split metal shaft inside thats small enough to slide through a predrilled mount hole. the split down the center of the adjustment shaft should be even from bottom to top at approximately 1/8 or less of an inch " if its not evenly split you won't have much point of contact and can easily damage the the inside of the knob. if the metal shaft looks square and evenly spaced gently wiggle the knob with very light pressure until you feel it slide back on easily. if you just push it on you stand a good chance of damaging the itty bitty soft plastic gear teeth inside the knob. once its reassembled it strong enough to last a long time if you don't torque on it.
[ JOSEPH  Jul 30, 2019 ]
A
The knob pulls off. The knob it self has the groves made into it to align on the shaft. If it spins freely check the knob grooves or see if the shaft spins freely.

Q
Does this control Gain? Or just the level? I hear a lot of people say this is bad for your subs...not sure this is the same thing
[ chris  Jun 14, 2018 ]
3 answers
A
Hey Chris. This only controls the level of your sub. The gain is controlled by the tiny dial located on the amplifier's control panel. If you are able to find a "sweet spot" where the sub sounds good for most of your music, you should be able to leave it at that setting without adjusting it again. Good luck!
[ CHRISTOPHER  Jun 21, 2018 ]
A
This is actually a gain control. It can be bad if not set up correctly.
[ JAMES  Jun 20, 2018 ]
A
Your gain is still set on the amp itself. You can't go past the level set on the amp. You can however turn the sub channel or all channels down and up volume wise from this control, but not exceeding output gain originally set when tuning the amp.
