Pros: Reasonable price compared to subs and they fill up the low end without over powering the fronts

2010 Subaru Impreza
Crutchfield sent me out 4 speakers and got them in two days. Put them right in my car and noticed that the one speaker cracked. Called the clutch field and that day they sent me out a new harness. Installed the new harness and the speaker still cracked. Called a Crutchfield again and said that they send me out a replacement right away no questions asked. Did not even say about a restocking fee no nothing. I love how Crutchfield care so much about their customers they will bend over backwards to make you pleased!
Pros: Great speakers sounds great all the range of sounds is there including base with a aftermarket stereo. Had factory speakers Before and had my turned up. Now I have to turn my sub down to make it blend right.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!

Great sound and the matching with the JL Audio TR650-CSi makes it an easy upgrade.
Pros: Installs quickly into the roll bar.Sound is great as well and compliments the JL Audio TR650-CSi which i installed in the front.
Cons: I was told I may have to come up with a different plan for the factory grill covers. We were able to install and mount the factory grill over the JL included grill making the entire process easier.

quality sound can also provide good bass. I enjoy clear sound with average bass. I like the sound that commes out of these speakers.
Pros: clear sound
Cons: I gave the mounting kid a good review. Before installing it. The Metra kit did not include screws to mount the speaker to the adapter, also the kit had no instructions, and I could not find any on the web site. I was stuck fabricating the fit.

2012 GMC Sierra
Installed in my 2012 GMC Sierra. Speakers are good quality, and great sound. Nice to find a quality door speaker that doesn't sound like it's in free space.
Pros: Works great with factory head unit with a lower rms wattage.
Cons: Does cut off lower frequencies above factory speakers, but not an issue on most music.

2013 GMC Sierra
Installed these speaks in my 2013 GMC Sierra with the factory radio. The sound quality is so much clearer than the factory speaks. Only downfall is the bass response is not the greatest, but I think that is because of the factory radio.
Pros: Excellent sound quality and crystal clear highs.
Cons: Bass response when hooked up to factory radio.

Enhanced clarity, great as a part of an overall system
John from Chicago, IL on 4/3/2016
2001 Chevrolet S10
I can't speak for someone that's looking for these to cover the entire frequency spectrum, but these sound great for mids and highs in the doors of my S-10. I have an older 350W Cerwin Vega amplifier powering two older JL Audio 8W 8" subwoofers in truck boxes behind the bench seat for my lows, and I have these same TR models in the 3-1/2" version with a 4"X8" adapter in the dash, and I couldn't be happier once I dialed in all the settings. These are really great speakers, and normally with just about anything, I shy away from an expensive brand's more affordable offerings, but I think JL has produced a great speaker at a decent price point here. You won't be disappointed with these.
Pros: Very clear, especially highs and mids, even at higher volumes, and an excellent sound for the money.
Cons: None really, except that they may not be as superior as some speakers that cost twice as much, but that's to be expected. I can't speak for these when pushed really hard with bass but they're good for my application (see above).

I have been impressed with these speakers which replaced the OEM speakers in my 2008 Silverado 2500HD. The sound is clear no matter how high I crank it up. I bought these because they were high quality and the speaker RMS matches my stereo well so didn't need an amp.
Pros: Great sounding speakers that do not require a ton of wattage to be loud and clear.
Cons: I truly cannot think of a con.

JL TR650-CXi for 350z rear
David from Harford County, MD on 2/15/2015
2003 Nissan 350Z
Saw some reviews how this didn't fit the rear of a 350z but I tried it anyhow and it lined up perfectly to factory holes on my 2003 non Bose/navigation Z. Many of the forums say it's better to not have rears but after putting these in my sound is much fuller across the spectrum.
Pros: Was I direct fit for me and MUCH better quality then the phoniex gold crap that a previous owner installed.
Cons: Just wish they had just a little bit lower range but I think a lot has to do with its size and being non component.

Great Upgrade!
Scott from Poway, California on 1/12/2015
This was my first pair of JL Audio speakers. I have always used Pioneer, but none are available for my 01 Corvette. I am quite pleased with these; they are much better than the stock units. One would think that a car that came with a Bose system would not need anything - think again. No highs, no lows.......must be Bose. Easy to install once I figured out that all I needed to do was remove the grille covers to access the speakers.
Pros: Sound quality, price, ease of installation.
Cons: Crutchfield installation instructions for my 2001 Corvette Coupe were unnecessarily complicated. They involved removing the roof panel (Targa top), the interior roof trim, and the pillar trim. Needless, as all that was needed was removal of the speaker grilles to gain access to the 4 screws securing the speakers.

Big Improvement over Factory Speakers
Rich from New York on 1/5/2015
2006 Honda Ridgeline
I installed these in my Honda Ridgeline recently after upgrading my receiver a few months ago. Even without an additional power amplifier they offer a great improvement over the factory speakers. Much greater definition, solid bass and crisp highs. The install was fairly easy. It did require a bit of modification, particularly on the rear doors, to the included plastic adapters. A bit of sealant as well made a tight fit. Once the adapters were in place the speakers dropped right in. The supplied screws had to be cut down but no big deal. The wiring harness adapter was a nice touch too and save cutting off the factory connector. Not inexpensive, but highly recommended
Pros: Great improvement in sound quality
Cons: A few mods to make them fit Pricy

I replaced the stock speakers in my Toyota, and these sound great. I'm no expert, but I feel like the sound is much improved. The price is reasonable for this level of improvement. The only limitation is that my car isn't the quietest inside.
Pros: terrific sound at all levels of volume
Cons: extra install charge because wooden backings had to be created to fit in car

Good sound but don't buy if you expect more bass
plonz from Houston, TX on 7/12/2014
2004 Toyota Matrix
I'd like to give these 5 stars but I can't. I bought 4 to replace the OE door speakers in my 2004 Matrix with a Kenwood DNX570HD head unit . I was hoping to get a little more bass than the OEs and not have to put any money into adding a subwoofer on a 10yr old car. While the JLs definitely produce better sound than the OE speakers, they actually produce less, albeit cleaner, bass. I can't get them to produce even a hint of a thump or rumble. I am sure I was expecting too much and I imagine I'm going to love them if/when I decide to add a subwoofer. Installation was fine with the Crutchfield kit although the screws with the speakers were too long for the brackets in the kit. They bottomed out on the door and caused the bracket to lift, creating an air gap. Fortunately I had a enough spare screws laying around to make it work.
Pros: Very good sound and great audio separation over the OE speakers. The JLs create much fuller sound in the cabin of the car.
Cons: Wimpy bass response. Installation screws were too long for the brackets in the Crutchfield kit.

These speakers are fantastic---just make sure you have adequate power. They need juice. Most likely a factory head unit would not be enough---I had to add a power amp to get them to sound great...so glad I did.
Pros: Tremendous clarity-----good solid bottom end.
Cons: They require a lot of power/wattage.

'08 Sierra Crew Cab - Replaced all 4 door speakers
ACE Classic Rock from Baltimore, MD on 5/4/2014
2008 GMC Sierra
Wow! I am happy I chose these speakers. The speakers sound great with the stock head unit. I replaced all 4 stock door speakers (front and back) with these 6.75" JL Audio TR650-CXi speakers. The whole project was simple. It might have taken an hour or a little more max. The mounting hardware needed a minor adjustment for the speakers to fit as they are setup for 6.5" or 6.75". There are 4 plastic screw tabs that would be used with the 6.5" speakers that you need to trim off for the 6.75" speakers. The mounting screws are also a .25" to long. I used cutters and trimmed them down. Again, all easy modifications. The sound is amazing compared to the stock speakers. All genres sound crisp and clean with plenty of bass. Even when cranked up, the sound is crisp and clean. I wish I would have installed these years ago.
Pros: Easy install Clean and crisp sound on the GM stock head unit All mounting hardware and wire harnesses included when ordering from Crutchfield
Cons: None.

Great but one size doesn't fit all.
Mike C from Clovis on 2/23/2014
These do not fit a 350z whatsoever I spent a few hours trying to make it fit and these are not 6 3/4 but 6 1/2 speakers thus stated in the model number. Also to chime in for us Nissan owners especially Gs and Zs we need a spacer because they can fit both front and back but need at least a bracket with 1 inch clearance or it'll kiss your windows and for the rear it won't mount because the holes do not line as well because it won't clear the slots for the mounting holes for the top cover either thus yielding a bad fit . So dont be like me research ahead and get spacers/adapters for these speakers besides that they sound amazing for your money's worth even with a decent deck with no amp or sub, it responds well with my JVC kw800bt on a test run .
Pros: Sounds amazingly clear in comparison to old speakers or a good price . good mids and lows and for a few dollars more the CSi has better bass but however this can be compensated with a sub, therefore not worth getting if doing so.
Cons: Needs brackets for mid 2000s Nissan applications and not implied in the notes.drivers need to be smaller for windows.

Replaced these with JL Audio C3-650's as I wanted a component speaker.. I'm not seeing a lot of difference between the two speakers.. The C3-650's have a little more bass.. The C3-650's cost a lot more and they are somewhat better, but if you hadn't heard them both you would never know it.. Awesome speaker for the price, sounds just as good as the next model up.. Save some money buy these you won't regret it!! After all they are JL Audio, you know they're going to sound great!

These speakers are fantastic! Installed in the rear deck of a Nissan Sentra, sound quality is excellent. I am very surprised with the amount of bass these things handle, and the highs don't crack unless pushed to the limit. With sub-bass at +1 on my JVC Arsenal, rock and metal sound great at any volume. Bass and techno are very good at mid volume. I really want a second pair for the doors, but unfortunately they don't fit. Overall, a very stout 6 3/4" speaker that is well worth the money. I highly reccomend them!
