Scosche AU2392B Dash Kit
Crutchfield customer from Greer, SC on 9/14/2021
2006 Audi A3
An absolutely necessary trim piece to make the radio look decent. Would have been a disaster without it. On the other hand, there is still a bit of a gap around the face of the radio. Maybe they think that is necessary for the removable faceplate.

It does fit

At first when you hold the stereo (in this case a single DIN Sony MEX-GS610BT) up to the mounting bracket it looks way too small to fit. It looks too narrow and too short. Don't panic, it does fit, and it fits well. The sleeve for the stereo slides right into the factory hole. Make your wiring connections then this plastic piece snaps in right over the radio and fits perfectly. The face for the radio is unobscured for removal and reinstallation.
Pros: Perfect, snug fit
Cons: None

Disappointed in Scosche
Levi from New Mexico on 1/24/2015
2006 Audi A3
I've never had a problem with install kits before, but this kit was disappointing. Instructions say to use included spacers if stereo sits too far back and not flush with panel. Well, the kit did not include spacers. I called Crutchfield about it. They confirmed that kit does not include spacers. Joke is on me, I guess. I had to improvise a way to seat my stereo further out. Furthermore, the fit and finish is terrible. The faceplate panel surround barely fits in the dash and the finish looks extremely cheap. Definitely not at home in the Audi. I'm disappointed Scosche!
Pros: Free with stereo purchase
Cons: Fit, finish, and missing the required spacers.

Good DIN adapter face plate
AOei from Los Angeles, CA on 2/9/2014
This DIN adapter face plate fits my Audi A3 stack pretty well. Fitment was tight overall... no complaints there. Finish was OK... not totally identical to the factory surround but I think that'd be hard to achieve anyways. Only complaint is the lower edge.... could use a bit more plastic there to minimize any bowing. I used double stick tapes to eliminate the bowing and resulting gap.
Pros: Fits well... easy to install.
Cons: Bottom edge is a bit flimsy.
