Not the Best for Alpine Decks
Crutchfield customer from Alameda, CA on 6/16/2021
2003 BMW 3 Series
This dash kit fits the dash opening and looks fine. The only problem is that it does not allow my Alpine deck with a removable face plate to removed. The face plate needs room to swivel outward and the fit is so exact that there's no room on either side to allow it to be removed. The dash kit does not allow for adjustments left/right or in/out. I'm fine without having to remove the deck's face plate, but there must be a better way that will allow you to use the removable face plate feature of the Alpine deck.
Pros: Looks and Finish
Cons: Doesn't work with Alpine removable face plates

Fits dash but not radio
Crutchfield customer from Santa Maria, CA on 5/16/2019
1995 BMW 3 Series
Yes it will fit the dash of a 2005 BMW 325i but it did NOT fit my new radio. Tried to install a Sony MEX-N5300BT but it did not fit, the cutout sides of the kit are about 4mm shorter than the the radio. Which was disappointing because Crutchfield is the one that recommended this kit with the radio.
Pros: Fits dash flush.
Cons: Didn't fit my radio.

Does it fit? Yes. Will your radio? No. There was so much cutting necessary that I can't understand how this is an actual product being sold. The metal sleeve for the radio wouldn't even fit into the cutout for this. A dremel and some very steady hands are a must for this install. (2004 330xi)

Fits car but NOT new head unit
Hugh from Dayton, OH on 12/25/2017
2003 BMW 3 Series
I fits my son's 2003 BMW 325xi perfectly. The issue is it does not fit the new Pioneer head unit I bought. The opening in this kit was simply too small and I have no intention of taking a dremel to this thing and making it look like an amateur installed the radio. You need to figure out which radios will work with the kits you supply and let buyers know.
Pros: Fit car well Looked nice
Cons: Does not fit on well known brand head unit No list of radios that WORK with this particular kit

Again, Garbage
Matt from Ohio on 4/17/2017
2001 BMW 3 Series
Was the recommended dash kit for mt 2001 BMW 330CI. This kit is complete junk. The single din head unit I ordered does not fit lengthwise and the plastic is curved, so looks terrible if you can actually get the head unit to fit. Look for another kit.
Pros: cheap
Cons: everything

Garbage
Dustin from Gig Harbor, WA on 3/26/2017
2004 BMW 3 Series
Complete junk. Had to trim over a quarter inch in width, head unit did not fit. The upper edge is very flimsy and almost snapped when I was trimming and filing very carefully. Could not use my head unit's mounting bracket, it simply didnt fit without destroying the plastic. When I finally got the head unit in there, the angle of the face plate did not match, and it leaves a very visible gap. Not happy with it at all, will replace it with another brand soon.
Pros: Not much goid to say about it.
Cons: Doesnt fit the head unit without trimming and filing for 30 mins, material is very cheap, plastic does not match the grain and gloss level of the other trim pieces in my car - even though its made for my car, and it leaves an ugly gap around the stereo.

Fit and finish are OK, but BMW has a OEM Radio that is curved. All the aftermarket head units have a flat front bezel. This causes the head units to look scabbed in, and the buttons are recessed so far that they are near impossible to reach and to small to get at.
Pros: it will make aftermarket DIN radios fit a BMW dash. Just not pretty.
Cons: looks like a aftermarket radio. This is downgrade from my original factory radio

Not a clean fit on 2006 BMW 325ci
Jay Riles from Oregon on 10/27/2015
2006 BMW 3 Series
Simple, not a clean fit. Piece was too large and the skinny/thin areas of the plastic will bow. I had to sand down edges to make it look decent. The outside pattern/skin isn't even close to what the BMW skin is.
Pros: it eventually fit after a lot of sanding and painstaking manipulations
Cons: Everything... sheen is wrong, even after sanding the plastic is too skinny in places and bows. Not a good design

Shipped fast, out of the box it looked as pictured. Install was a breeze. Fits snugly into opening. The best place to put the wires I found was behind the AC control unit.
Pros:
Cons: Opening is pretty small. So therefore anything with a sliding top or a flip out screen won't fit. Remember to remove your receivers trim as well because it won't fit with it on.

Fits well but not centered - e46 BMW
BillDS from Aiken, SC on 10/9/2014
2001 BMW 3 Series
The itme worked as advertised but you won't like the results in an e46 BMW dash as the new radio will be mounted to the left (off-center) above the ac controls. I ended up buying the $100+ OEM conversion kit over the internet that centers the aftermarket radio in the dash stack.
Pros: Fits well
Cons: not centered and nowhere does it say this in the description

It fits in place of the stock stereo perfectly, but its opening for the new stereo is a little small. I bought a pioneer mvh-x560bt and it was a little too wide for the gap, but that wasn't a problem with the help of a dremel to shave the plastic piece some.
Pros: Fits fine, only option around
Cons: Not an exact fit for some stereos

Once I got the radio in all the way, the trim adapter fit perfectly Looks good with my Kenwood Excelon KDC-X696 radio. The instructions say not to put the tabs down in the DIN mount. I thought that was a little odd, but everything is in and it works.
Pros: Good match to the car.
Cons: Instructions sound odd.

*read this before installing in bmw*
chris from allentown, pa on 10/24/2012
2002 BMW 3 Series
this adapter does the job, but the instructions are lacking. What you really need to do is pop out the heater controls and upper vent, pull out the OEM plastic radio "support structure"... install the radio and this cover plate to the plastic support, and then insert the whole unit into the car, moving the wires out of the way through the vent hole (and up into the dash). I needed to use a piece of hose to "shim" the radio against the front plate (between the back of the radio and the stock plastic radio rack. I also had to drill and tap the center hole of my new Kenwood to allow the stock rubber "bullet" piece that holds the radio in place (to accept it from the OE unit). It would be nice if a new bullet adapter was included
Pros: does what it says
Cons: could have better instructions and include a rubber center "bullet" for the back of the radio.
