Great fit & color match. Need proper screws.
Crutchfield customer from Albuquerque, NM on 1/26/2021
2010 Honda Civic EX
Installed in 2011 Honda Civic EX-L sedan, dark grey dash. It does the job quite well and snapped into place without any problems. The color very closely matched that of the factory dash panel being replaced. The trim piece of my double-din Kenwood stereo did not fit in the opening but fortunately this panel came with a trim piece (and one for single-din). There is a small gap between the trim piece and the stereo but you would have to look closely to see it. For relocating the OEM equipment to this panel, I was forewarned by a stereo installer on YouTube not to use the factory screws from Honda Civic's OEM panel in this panel because they are too large for the plastic posts. I used #8 x 1/2" pan head Philips sheet metal screws and had no problems. One of the reasons I did not replace my stereo years ago was that I did not know this replacement panel readily existed and for such an affordable price. My loss. I highly recommend this panel. Just get the right color for your car and the right screws and you will be happy with the results.
Pros: Great fit. Great color match.
Cons: Screws for relocating OEM equipment are not provided and screw posts are not same size as on OEM panel.

Pretty good
Crutchfield customer from Malden, MO on 12/18/2020
2010 Honda Civic EX
Good fit, nice unit trim options. Looks VERY close to the original dash when installed. More like a 3.5 star item due to the lack of appropriate screws included. Use the screws from your original dash to to install the HVAC, DIN brackets, etc. The screws sent with the kit are (too) large and will crack the plastic posts unless its warmed and SLOWLY tightened. I'm not super confident that this will crack and become loose later. Also, the alignment of the bracket to the din unit took some persuasion to line up with the DIN unit. Overall, I am happy with the look/fit.
Pros: Looks great installed...perfect match, nice trim and fit.
Cons: Smaller screws needed, or beefier plastic posts needed to avoid cracking plastic.

The dash kit matched the color and fit of the 2007 Honda dash. all buttons and controls transferred with no problems. I suggest using the original Honda clips and taking off the black plastic clips that came with the unit. the bottom two hold accessible thru the bottom compartment are difficult to reinstall, I would suggest making an extension to the radio holder brackets (two part bracket) in order to prevent the bracket from flexing, this flexing makes the re-installation of the bottom crews very difficult. you will have to push the radio holder bracket with one finger while attempting to install the screw upside-down. if the bracket had a fixed distance between the screws it would make the screw installation easier. Those two screws are the only screws that "Secure" the entire unit in place, so they must be reinstalled.
Pros: color, fit, accessories, installation
Cons: radio holder bottom two screws

Good dash kit. looks like the OEM unit. I was planning to keep the OEM unit but the stereo unit was smaller than the opening and did not look good. This kit comes with a frame that will cover that opening.
Pros: Fits perfectly in the dash
Cons: color does not match perfectly an I had to trim one of the screw holes for one of the switches as it was higher that oem so it sat crooked.

Need customer modification to work
Alexander from Chevy Chase, MD on 9/29/2020
2008 Honda Civic LX
Poor fit for climate control mount and mis-sized screw receptacles made this a difficult and frustrating install. This is not my first rodeo and have installed several other stereos in prior cars; I'm reasonably handy, but not an expert. Many of the holes are too small and crack when the factory screws are used to install the accessories. I went to the hardware store to buy the next smaller screw, but that is too small. The most serious problem with the kit is the hole for the climate control unit. The buttons for vent/heat/ac/recycle, etc. stick and bind. I thought my fist kit was defective, and Crutchfield shipped me a new one. So, I had to pry apart the car again and re-do the whole project. HUGE pain. Same problem with the new kit. I thought it was an alignment/adjustment problem and played with the thing for an hour to no avail. Finally called tech support, and turns out others are having exactly the same problem. The tech came up with the same solution I was contemplating but reluctant to try - sand down the opening and bottom mounting flange. I sanded pretty aggressively, smoothed it with finer grit, and gave it a light coat of WD-40 for good measure. Success. I shouldn't have had to go to those lengths, and Crutchfield should not be selling a defective product with a know defect reported by multiple customers in reviews here. Or, at least disclose the defect in the "master sheet" instructions and let people know they have to modify
Pros: Looks good when its finally done.
Cons: Poor fit for accessories. Marginal quality.

Crutchfield customer from Coraopolis, PA on 8/31/2020
The color was very hard to find online. He helped me but the colors arent exact , whether its the 13year old car, or the new piece being a slight shade off. This piece also leaves a gap on top of the dash when looking in from the windshield. There was no clips or pop ins on the whole top right cornerm where on the stock one it fits perfectly. The HVAC cutout needed modded alot. The whole wasnt cut straight enough causing the buttons to stick down. We ended up getting a dremel tool and removing alot of material from this dash kit to make it work.
Pros: does its job
Cons: modication needed color just isnt right

Good color match and fit. Only flaw I've seen thus far is the screw bosses are too thin and split even if handled carefully.
Pros: Looks factory, everything fits properly.
Cons: Minus one star for the fragile screw bosses. They split very easily, although they seem to be holding for now. If you watch the actual crutch field civic install video, you can hear the telltale cracking sound as the tech drives in the screws. That's the bosses splitting.

I wanted to like this, but: 1) the color didn't match (my advisor was super nice and sent me another, but it had the same color mismatch, I guess it is just that over time dash pieces get darker, my car is 13 years old...) 2) the defrost button stuck when I installed the climate control module. I had to scrape a little of the opening with a utility knife to give it more room 3) some of the screws (re-used from the factory unit) seem to strip in the plastic of this Scosche unit. In particular two of the four screws from the climate control unit. I was pretty careful and used a hand-held screwdriver. 4) the radio is held with plastic pieces (the factory unit had metal holding the radio). Once installed it seems OK, though. It does fit in the dash nicely, though.
Pros: Inexpensive and fits in dash well
Cons: Color mismatch, defrost button stuck, some screws stripped.

I purchased this at a discounted rate to complete the install on my fiancé's 2010 Honda Civic LX. Physically it did it's job but not without modification. First thing I noticed was that the color was off. Not the end of the world. Second was when I swapped over the items from the old head unit to this, I had to use a dremel to smooth out the edges for the airbag light and HVAC controls as they wouldn't sit flush.
Pros: It served its purpose
Cons: Color was off. Had to sand edges to make it fit right.

Great kit, but needs some sanding before you install.
Stephen from Denver, CO on 2/24/2020
Overall, this is a great dash kit and was super easy to use and install. It was pretty disappointing though that the recirculate and rear defrost buttons get stuck pushed down when it's installed. I didn't realize this was an issue until the dash was back together and I was giving a quick press of everything to ensure this was not an issue. See my pic below for what I'm talking about. I tried loosening the screws in the back to relieve the stress in this area but it didn't work. i had to remove the buttons and sand the lower lip of this specific opening. It only took about 2 minutes to sand it down enough but I highly suggest you do this sanding before you install your buttons. sand from the back side at an angle so it can't really be seen from the front side. Other than this, it was a decent install. The paint does not match the rest of the dash, but to someone who isn't looking specifically for this, it won't be seen.
Pros: Easy to install, clean look.
Cons: Needs to be sanded before install, paint doesn't match that well.

Looks really good in the car. It's shape is seamless. The color is a tiny bit off, (I had the grey one) I mean the color is close, but slightly off. The biggest issue I had was the size for the A/C and heater buttons. The opening in the dash kit was too small, and it pushed the buttons down. After sanding a little plastic off the dash kit, it fit nice.

Good fit and color match but some details fell short of expectation
Crutchfield customer from Glenshaw, PA on 1/6/2020
2008 Honda Civic EX
This is a decent modification kit but it has some shortcomings. Color match for my kit was excellent and the fit of the dash panel was also very good. The support brackets for the head unit are a bit flimsy and required creativity in order to fit the head unit. The brackets mount to the dash panel with alignment pins and plastic swaging screws but the opening for the head unit is too narrow so the thin sheet metal "sleeve" that is supplied with the head unit (Sony in this case) does not fit. It is a very very small width difference but I had to use a small round file to elongate the bracket mounting & alignment holes in order to make the opening wider. It is possible that I did not need the "sleeve" since I was using the side fasteners to secure the head unit but there is no notes in instructions that would explain this. It also seems that for a Sony head unit you need the "sleeve" to provide a front edge stop point. A more difficult problem is that the head unit is supplied with 4 counter-sunk screws with short threads for use with the side brackets. The Scosche brackets are thick plastic and the short head unit screws will not reach the holes in the head unit. If you try brute force you will crack the bracket so I had to use a Dremel to create tapered edges on the slotted holes in the bracket. If the Scosche kit was supplied with replacement screws that had extra thread length and were not counter-sunk like the head unit screws, then this would not have been a problem.
Pros: The color match was perfect The fit to the dash was excellent The appearance after assembly was very good and meets expectations
Cons: Scosche should supply screws with extra thread length to make up for the additional thickness of the plastic side brackets or use sheet metal for the brackets. The instructions do not indicate if you need to use head unit sleeve. the head unit fits between the brackets without the sleeve but the sleeve is needed to provide a front edge stopping point. If you use the sleeve you need to modify the brackets to gain increased width.

Decent quality for Scosche
Crutchfield customer from Lonoke, AR on 12/15/2019
2006 Honda Civic LX
Overall a decent quality product, but the plastic is noticeably more brittle than the OEM dash. Several of the screw receptacles cracked when installing my HVAC controls, and if you're reading this and have not yet installed anything, MAKE SURE TO PRESS/TEST ALL BUTTONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. That said, it took some adjustment to make sure the rear defrost button function properly without sticking. Upon installation, it did not fit quite like the OEM unit, but was only mildly frustrating. The cheap metal lower retaining clips kept trying to shoot off into the dashboard abyss on each attempt to install it. The color matches well to the OEM head unit, but doesn't really match the dashboard of the car. The discount offered by Crutchfield for buying a head unit was the tipping point, and made this an overall good value.
Pros: Good value, great price when also buying a head unit on Crutchfield.
Cons: Clearance around HVAC controls was a bit tight and required several adjustments to ensure proper operation of all controls.

Pretty Good
Dan from Raynham, MA on 9/14/2019
2009 Honda Civic LX
I purchased this dash kit, along with recommended wiring harness adapters, so that I could install a Pioneer DEHS1100UB radio to replace the 'awful sounding' OEM 1CD radio that was installed in my 2009 Honda Civic LX. I wanted to avoid the 'cracking' problems noted by others. I followed the advice of a previous reviewer, Berserker from Virginia on 6/2/2011. I decided to go a little further and applied a dab of petroleum jelly onto all 11 screws and then carefully threaded each one in their respective posts to insure that they were threaded straight. I was also concerned with securing the base of the ISO brackets to the dashboard support bar which previously help secure the OEM radio (for extra support and as a theft deterrent). I tapped both mounting posts on that assembly with a 10-32 tap as I intended to secure that assembly using 3/4x10-32 hex button head socket cap screw. After tapping those posts, I applied petroleum jelly to each of the button screws and threaded them into the tapped posts. All components were fitted to this dash kit with ZERO cracking and all buttons worked fine. Assembly looks fine in my car but I was unable to secure it to the dashboard frame like the OEM radio was secured. The holes didn't line up. Decided to get 'creative'- drilled some holes and inserted a piece of 1/4-20 threaded rod (8" long) with washers and nuts thru both ISO brackets. Please see attached photos. It works!! Please note that this can't be done with a double D
Pros: Looks professional. Color match is pretty close and texture is a bit smoother than OEM part.
Cons: Base of ISO bracket assembly is 'wobbly' for DIN radio installation if you wish to secure assembly to dashboard support. Double DIN installation may be 'stiffer. Suggest you update your instructions to address the 'issues' of support post cracking, sticking switches, and 'wobbly' ISO bracket assembly and you'll have a better product with less complaints.

Cheaper than expected. Extremely disappointing!
Chad from Shoemakersville on 5/16/2019
2010 Honda Civic EX
Thought this would be a higher quality product since it had a brand name on it but that doesn't seem to be the case. At least three of the screw posts cracked while I was screwing in the various components. This wasn't from over tightening, they cracked before the screws were even halfway in. The screws are holding but I'm not confident that they won't pull out sometime in the future. Also, the kit only came with 2 screws to attach the radio to the brackets and I would have preferred to use 4 if they could have spared a few cents to add a couple more screws and put together a decent kit.
Pros: Does work albeit poorly
Cons: Screw Posts Cracked Not enough screws included Doesn't sit as flush in the dash as the original

Great Replacement Dash for 2010 Honda Civic LX Sedan
Crutchfield customer from Layton, UT on 5/9/2019
2002 Subaru Outback
Great replacement dash for my 2010 Honda Civic LX Sedan. Color matched well and worked great for the double-din stereo I put in. The only issue I had was when I put in the module for my AC/Heating controls one of the buttons would get stuck a bit when pressed in. I ended up taking my utility knife and shaved off a bit of the plastic in that area so that the button would come up. Not really a big deal, but something to note (glad I tested all the buttons before I had installed the dash back in place). Price was great for this.

Color is completely off and stereo doesn't fit perfectly
Terrie from Dana Point, CA on 4/2/2019
Color definitely did not match see picture . Guess I could get used to it but it is very noticeable :-( Fit to the dash was good. Fit to the double DIN stereo was bad. The plastic brackets provided we're flimsy. The screw holes didn't line up with the stereo oh, I was only able to line up two screws on each side instead of 3. The brackets put the stereo on an angle leaving a gap at the bottom and the stereo at a slight angle in the mount. This is noticeable if you look for it it is definitely angled. Overall it worked and I'm not going to take it out and return it.
Pros: Easy to install instructions were good. Order came quickly Crutchfield was professional
Cons: Product itself is not the best made:-( disappointed color is off drastically and the stereo does not fit in the bracket as it should

Scosche HA1561 Dash Kit
Shauna from Orlando, FL on 3/6/2019
2006 Honda Civic EX
As many other reviews state, the holes for the screws are a bit too small for the factory stereo Honda screws. I tried to purchase smaller screws but ended up getting ones that were too small. It would be helpful to know which screws actually fit when purchasing this. Some of the holes cracked, but thankfully none of them entirely broke. The upside about this kit is that the color did match very well. When I first opened the package I thought I had purchased the incorrect color. My car is relatively old at this point (2006) so I thought sun damage would make for a poor color match, however, I think it actually looks pretty good. Lastly, the other thing I was worried about was whether or not the ac buttons would fit well. I've seen photos of other cars with this installed and the buttons did not sit flush with the kit, but everything actually fits well.
Pros: Color match was ok, buttons fit well
Cons: factory screws are too big, crutchfield should provide info for screws that fit correctly

This kit is awesome. Made installation a breeze. Fit perfectly. My only complaint and it's a small one really. The cover that goes over the dubble dim could have been designed better. My radio will hit it when the screen comes down when putting in a DVD or CD. I think if it had clips and a place for them to click into would make it better. Other than that is was awesome
Pros: Easy fast color matching
Cons: Dim cover

Would not call it a "factory fit"
Robert from Alexandria, VA on 12/7/2018
I am not terribly impressed with this dash kit. Perhaps the one I received was defective, but the mounting holes were too small, and in slightly the wrong position. The factory screws in my original dash panel are bigger that the holes in this kit, so almost every mounting hole cracked upon use. Further, the climate panel and buttons were not centered in the openings, so buttons and dials were binding against the panel and not depressing properly. The brackets that hold the new radio are plastic, and although they hold, it feels flimsy compared to the OEM metal bracket. (I have a 2009 Civic Si). The color is close, but not exact (granted my OEM panel has probably faded over time). The trim panel that is supposed to go around the stereo does not fit (Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX). I was able to sand the opening enough to keep the buttons from binding, and the screws still hold (even though they're cracked). But this is way more effort than should be required.
Pros: The fit to the rest of the dash is good.
Cons: Mounting screw holes are too small and crack when using OEM screws. OEM buttons and dials bind again the openings of the kit and required sanding. Trim panel did not fit my radio.

Color matched well enough, but openings for the factory accessories did not fit well
Pros: Color matched reasonably well
Cons: Openings for Passenger Airbag indicator AND the Climate Control controls did not fit well. Maybe it was poor design or maybe it was flashing from the mold that did not get trimmed, but Climate Control buttons don't want to pop back out by the force of their own springs. Airbag indicator did fit, with some unexpected amount of force. I suspect these were QC rather than design issues.

Definitely fits, and on first glance doesn't stand out at all. But if you look closely, you see that the texture of the plastic is a little different from the OEM. And the fit isn't quite as good. The hazard button doesn't fit as well as in the OEM, for example, and the control knobs on the AC don't turn as easily. Looks like a tolerance issue to me, a really small one, but you can see/feel it.

Gets the job done
Mike from Northern NJ on 12/8/2017
2009 Honda Civic LX
Installs easily and good for what it's intended for. Mine did not crack while screwing the radio into the mounting bracket - slow and steady wins the race. It gets three stars because of the angle at which the radio sits after being installed. Could face downwards a little bit more but it does not impact performance whatsoever. Just leaves the radio out of an optimal line of sight in my opinion.
Pros: Very easy to install. Less than 1 hour of work.
Cons: The angle at which the deck sits after install is not optimal.

Should you buy? Yes, but you may have to make modifications.
Pros: -Price -Color & finish match -Fit great with existing dashboard
Cons: -Some sharp/rough edges which I trimmed with a utility knife -When dash kit was assembled the opening was too narrow by 1/8" for the head unit. I had to use a drill to enlarge the holes & re-assemble. Not a big problem since I already had the tools on hand. But could be a hassle if you don't have the necessary tools

2009 Honda Civic SI
This dash kit looked exactly like the factory one. I was easily able to install the factory air conditioner unit as well as my aftermarket radio. The finished installation looked professionally done. The only complaint I have about this dash kit is that the air conditioning unit was a pain to get installed and when I did, 2 of the bottom buttons rub up against the dash kit and will get stuck. I hardly ever use these buttons, but when I do, I find by putting a small bit of pressure on the top, it will pop back out. Other than that, it was high quality and it was delivered only 2 days after I ordered it. Not many companies can keep up with another online mega company's shipping, but Crutchfield can.
Pros: Looks great, easy to install, and is well built despite the cheap price.
Cons: Air conditioner buttons are sticky at some points.

It works acceptably, but requires modification. When you switch over your heater controls they appear to fit just fine, until you try to press the A/C, recirculation, and rear defogger buttons. They all get stuck in the depressed position because the cutout isn't made correctly. I called Crutchfield's customer support (who were fantastic) and they told me they haven't received any complaints about the fitment. They were super kind and sent me another kit free of charge to see if it was a one-off issue but, unfortunately, it was not. Both kits suffered the same issue in the exact same spot. I resolved the issue by trimming away some of the plastic with a box cutter (light pressure will trim a tiny bit away at a time) and was able to make the switches return properly. Also note that the standoffs that the screws are screwed into are all too thin and crack when tightening down; they do hold, though. I went with taupe for my Civic Si because Gun Metal isn't an option, and it's pretty close, but definitely not an exact match. Finally, the fitment is about 95% of perfect. Good enough, but still far from OEM quality.

Works great
Mark from Ft Worth, TX on 8/12/2017
2011 Honda Civic LX
After reading about some problems that others had, I was slightly nervous about this kit.I got it along with a single DIN Kenwood. As others have noted, I also had to sand some plastic for the climate control buttons to stop sticking, but it wasnt that big a deal. I also had the plastic crack when putting the screws in, as the holes are too small. I tried the 'heating the screw with a lighter trick' on some of them, and it seemed to help. In spite of the cracking, everything seemed secure. The mounting bracket seemed sturdy enough for a single DIN, but for a double DIN, I would probably glue the bracket pieces together as well as screwing them. The color matches great, and there was no problem snapping it back into the dash.
Pros: Great color Match. Easy installation.
Cons: Plastic cracks when you screw in the screws.

Easy Install, Instructions Could Be More Detailed
Jesse from St. Augustine, FL on 7/26/2017
2010 Honda Civic LX
The instructions left out some key information. You have to remove the little plastic clips from the old radio/climate control bezel and install them on the new. The holes in the bottom of the radio bracket are just a small pilot hole, the screws that were removed from that spot on the factory radio are fine thread machine screws that are flat on the tip. It would be difficult to re-use them in that spot. I swapped them with a similar sized course thread screw with a pointed tip.
Pros: Looks great
Cons: Instructions were lacking some information.

I was a bit nervous after reading all the reviews on the screw towers cracking but I used a simple method that worked perfectly. I held the screw with a pair of needle nose pliers by the head and lit the screw with a bic lighter. After I had the screw good and hot I placed the screw with the pliers of course, it would be way to hot to touch, into the hole and screwed it in. After the third screw this way I was confident and wasn't near as cautious with the rest as I knew they weren't going to crack and I quickly screwed the rest on in. I had also read where some had problems with the buttons sticking so I sanded each opening first with 100 grit sand paper before hand. I don't know if mine would have stuck otherwise or not but figured I'd play it safe. I thought the color was fine. It doesn't match the panels next to it but neither did the original. I thought it matched just as well as the original. Very happy with this kit. You

Required extensive reworking, color and quality not great.
CB from Hartford, CT on 5/22/2017
2010 Honda Civic LX
Every one of the screw holes cracked before the screw was even halfway in, let alone tight (using a manual screwdriver) requiring that I mask off and epoxy the tiny screw "towers" for strength. The factory climate controls, vent, and hazard light switch fit well, but again, every screw hole cracked as the screws were installed. The mounting instructions and included plastic brackets called for mounting the double-DIN receiver from behind, which would have made installation and any future changes as fussy and time-consuming as the factory stereo. I did not want to do this, so I modified the plastic brackets (which seemed too flimsy to me) by enlarging the holes so that I could mount the slide-in chassis for the double-DIN unit. I then used 3/16 pop rivets to secure the sides of the chassis to the plastic brackets. The L-shaped tabs that meet up with two small bolts from below were way too flexible to trust supporting a double-DIN, so I cut them away, removed the steel bracket from the factory stereo, and installed that to the slide-in chassis with 3/16 pop-rivets, which worked great and meant that the new unit was just as solidly supported from below as the factory one. With all of that done and installed, the unit slid into the chassis from the front and clicked solidly into place as designed. The trim piece visually finished it off nicely, but did not snap in very well and feels loose to the touch. Finally, it places the face of the head unit at a sun-glare-prone angle
Pros: inexpensive, good physical fit with factory controls and dashboard, saves time versus fabricating one from scratch.
Cons: brittle plastic, mediocre color match, flimsy support brackets for double-DIN, hours of work required to mount head unit as solidly as original factory one.

Color doesnt match and plastic is brittle
Patrick from Mechanicsville, VA on 5/16/2017
This does work but the color is off and the plastic is brittle to the point of cracking as you run the screws in when you transfer vents, buttons, and HVAC controls to it. Of you have to remove it be VERY careful the tabs will break off as well. Really not the best quality, but the only option out there.
Pros: it fits as expected
Cons: color was not a match and plastic was very brittle.

Fitment and color could be better.

2011 Honda Civic EX
For 2011 Civic EX sedan. As others have said, the color and texture match really isn't perfect. It's quite close though, and most passengers probably wouldn't notice. I thought the fitment was similarly not quite perfect. The cutout for the passenger airbag light is the worst- a couple seconds of looking at it and you can tell the light doesn't sit perfectly within the hole. The hazards button had a small tab left on the top rather than a perfectly clean circle. However the climate control knobs and buttons fit excellently. The main display cutout is just barely off. I have a single DIN and I use the supplied cubby under it. The supplied trim panel that goes around the radio is a bit loose- I ended up using the trim panel supplied with the radio even though it's a slightly different color and size- and at the bottom center where it meets the cubby, it bows upwards and the cubby bows downwards. so there's this very small gap between them. Lastly, and this might be partly a design flaw on Honda's part with the placement of locking clips, the upper right and lower right of the entire kit are a little loose if you wiggle them. It's not noticeable at all when pressing buttons or anything, I only noticed during install. All those negatives aside, it's still 3 stars because I've already stopped noticing all those details (except the passenger airbag light...) after just a few days. There's room for improvement on the fitment and color, but it's s

Fits well, quality and color matching is suspect
Dan from Durham, NC on 4/21/2017
This kit was pretty easy to install, I will have to say. However after putting it in my '07 Si with grey interior the color doesn't really match, and the texture of the plastic is not really the same either. It probably won't be obvious to most people but it is to me. Also, the nice feel of the climate control knobs changes in the new kit. On the factory one they had nice small clicks when adjusting the fans/temperature, on the Scosche they feel really tight and you don't have those nice clicks to give you feed back. At least all the stuff works once transferred and it slides easily into place. The plastic (!) mounting brackets that you are supposed to used for your head unit are very flimsy and it's disappointing that they aren't metal, plus they don't bolt into place like the old factory one does. Makes me a little nervous. Luckily my head unit has no CD player so it's relatively light. Also, I'm pretty sure at least one of the screws on the brackets broke when I was sliding the kit back in the car as my head unit is not sitting straight in the kit, so I will at some point have to pull it back out and hopefully be able to repair. If there are other options out there (I think it's possible to get the factory kit for the nav system to work) I would investigate, I wish I had.
Pros: -fits well -easy to install -cheap
Cons: -color/texture is off -climate control knobs have a different feel once transferred -mounting bracket is flimsy and you can't bolt it into place like the factory one

Pretty bad quality
HLG from Olympia, WA on 2/28/2017
2007 Honda Civic EX
Pretty bad quality. This is my first install that needed a dash piece replaced. The color is not a perfect match to my 2007 Honda Civic EX. It's off enough that it draws the eye on a daily basis. Color aside, the overall quality is not even close to the stock one I replaced. When transferring the heater controls from the stock dash to this one, half of the posts stripped out or cracked when screwing in the components, not from over tightening, just poorly made. This forced me to JB Weld up each post to ensure the heater controls didn't flop around. The "clips" where it attaches to the dash were not in the same places as the stock ones, some being as far as 3/16" off. This required shaving to get it into the dash. If I knew how bad this piece would be, I may not have installed a double din at all.

Great product

2007 Honda Civic SI
Great product. Color match to OEM was very close. Fit was excellent. The mounts for the head unit were very sturdy. Everything I had to take off the OEM panel and install on this one installed perfectly. 2 very minor issues: 1) the brackets to mount the head unit are so thick that I had to shave them down a little to get the screws to engage on the head unit itself. I suppose longer screws could have solved the problem too, but with a car torn apart, I didn't want to go to the store - I just wanted to find a way to use the screws that came with the head unit. 2)The little storage tray that goes under the head unit - it has holes in the back of it. They're small - so small that coins wouldn't fall through - but if anything did fall through, it would fall into the cavity behind the dash, and lots of work would have to be done to retrieve it.
Pros: Does what its supposed to. Great fit and function
Cons: None worth griping about

Poor quality
Rod from Bunnell, FL on 12/31/2016
2006 Honda Civic LX
I only gave this a two because of issues with quality. The new dash piece from Scosche did not match the color and texture of the original. It had some plastic left over from the moulding process that required trimming and almost all of the mounting holes in the back of the piece cracked when the OEM screws were installed. Not good. Poor quality control. The kit was also missing screws to attach the receiver to the included plastic brackets. Had to go to the hardware store and buy four 5mm screws and split washers. There was a metal mounting frame that came with the JVC receiver but it wouldn't install in the hole due to the size of the plastic side brackets. The kit came with two electrical connectors, one for the OEM car connector and one for the radio. They had to be wired together. I decided to solder and shrink wrap them instead of using connectors. The instructions to wire them together were slim so a novice would have to probably contact Crutchfield for instructions. BTW, instructions were not good for this kit. I installed this with my teenage son in his car and he loves it so I gave it a 2 instead of a 1. I would not put this kit in my own car.
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Quality is poor on dash piece. Missing some installation hardware.

Works as expected, could be better
Edward from York, PA on 12/20/2016
2009 Honda Civic LX
Obviously pretty mandatory item for installation. Found it easier than most installs I have done using this product. Only big drawback was the holes the factory screws you have to use ended up breaking almost all of the molded plastic pilot holes in the adapter when you switch over all of the controls, ac vent, hazard light button. Logical fix would be to provide screws for the peripherals that don't break the kit. After I heard the first screw crack the housing as I attempted to tighten it, I tightened all the rest incredibly slowly, and obviously only tight enough to create a proper fit of the peripheral, but at least 6 of them still cracked...maybe they do provide screws and mine just weren't in the box? Just be extra careful, and even try to pick up some smaller coarse thread panheads from the hardware store or something. Everything seems to still be snuggly in place for the time being.
Pros: Color match was perfect, fit was perfect
Cons: factory screws for peripherals are too big for adapter kit causing it to break

Allowed me to mount an aftermarket stereo.
Manuel from Albuquerque, NM on 11/30/2016
2015 Scion FR-S
I bought this to replace the factory stereo in my 2010 Honda Civic. The color match is flawless with the rest of the dash. As with most aftermarket trim pieces, the fit was not as great as I had expected and the mounting holes (for the A/C, airbag light, and hazard lights) are weak and break easily; so be very careful. The holes for these these are not aligned as great as the factory trim piece either. On one side of my A/C controls, the buttons rub against the trip and tend to stick once depressed. I tried loosening the screws and adjusting the fit, but to no avail. The same can be said for the hazard light as well. The double DIN trim piece that is supposed to fit around the aftermarket stereo would not stay in the allocated tabs and kept falling off. A few dabs of hot glue helped to remedy this. Only came with two stereo mounting screws, so I had to use two more makeshift screws to mount the aftermarket stereo to the interior mounting brackets to avoid the stereo shifting while mounted. All other double DIN stereo kits I have utilized have always included 4 mounting screws for this reason.
Pros: Color match, included trim pieces.
Cons: Fitment, screws supplied, cheap screw mounting holes.

Blends right in
Barry from Andover, MA on 7/10/2016
2009 Honda Civic LX
The unit (dark gray) matched very closely with my dash (2009 Honda Civic). Alignment was excellent and it was easy to snap in and out (I've had it out 4 times for various reasons related to the radio). There were two fit issues I encountered. First, the trim piece did not fit over the Blaupunkt radio I had purchased. It seems the Blaupunkt had sharp corners and the trip piece was designed for a small corner radius. I used sandpaper to square up the corners of the trim piece, which took a little while. The second fit issue was two of the heat/AC buttons rubbed against the edge of the cutout, causing the buttons to remain depressed, preventing them from popping back up. I had to sand the dash kit to open up that hole a little as well (there was not real adjustment slop in the screw holes). Other than that I am completely satisfied with the kit.
Pros: Color. Overall fit was very good. Price.
Cons: Small issue with the fit of one of the cutouts.

Worked well. Invest in a panel tool to get the old panels off - makes it MUCH easier without any damage. As others have said, the screw holes are too brittle and some of them crack when installing the old screws. Everything seems secure, but I hope there will not be long-term issues with it.

Decent fit
Crutchfield customer from Austin, TX on 4/28/2016
2008 Honda Civic SI
Good fit and color match. Had to file down the cutout for the A/C controls because it was interfering with button movement on the recirculate and defrost buttons, and it was harder to remove than the stock dash plate, when I needed to remove it to take a second look at something behind my HU.
Pros: Good color and texture match. Feels solid when you rest your hand on the base while using the touch interface on HU.
Cons: A/C controls cutout wasn't a perfect fit without filing down the cutout a little. Snaps were hard to remove after installing if you need a second look. When installing the A/C, hazard button, and passenger airbag indicator I reused the stock screws. Most of the screw holes seemed to be too small and cracked as I screwed in each screw. I'm worried the screw holes may eventually break completely and things will become loose.

5 star product if it would work without modification. I did have to use a X-acto knife to shave a couple of millimeters from the bottom lip of the opening for the HVAC buttons to prevent them from sticking. Also I wouldn't recommend reusing the screws that are removed from the OEM locations. They are too thick, and after the first screw split the mounting point, I switched to slightly smaller diameter screws and they worked perfectly. The color matches up nicely and snaps into the dash securely. Great product.
Pros: Color matches dark gray interior. Attaches to dash securely.
Cons: Have to trim HVAC opening slightly. You should reuse the Honda screws as they may split the mounting points.

Paul D from New York on 1/2/2016

Kit comes complete with everything needed (almost). Trial installation of factory components showed that some trimming of openings (HVAC and mounting holes) was needed prior to final installation. Color match with factory panels is very close (but not perfect). Mounting holes cracked when using factory screws to mount HVAC, Hazard, and Air Bag indicator light. I did call Crutchfield Support to ask about the short mounting screws and they told me exactly what I needed to get.
Pros: Dash panel is very close to factory color throughout (not painted). All parts fit together as per instructions. Inexpensive kit.
Cons: I needed to purchase longer mounting screws for the stereo that I was installing (Alpine CDE-151) as the ones that were included were too short.

If you have brown seats, carpet, and door panels order the taupe for your Honda civic.
Pros: -Looks really nice, clean look. -Good price when ordering with a stereo.
Cons: -Color is off a little, hard to notice though. -Screws that hold the deck in and heater controls in place are needed as the factory screws are too big that are on the back of the factory radio. -Need to file down the lower part of the HVAC controls. This is easy to do, use a pocket knife, stand it on edge and slide it back and forth to shave a bit of the plastic off. No fancy tools needed to do this and nothing is noticeable once assembled.

Good product, instructions dectptive
dcdttu from Texas on 11/18/2015
2009 Honda Civic SI
When I received the product there was no mention that my double-din stereo needed to be installed directly to this kit, without the mounting sleeve that it came with. The radio instructions didn't say that, the Scosche kit instructions didn't say that, and Crutchfield didn't say that either. The screws that came with the Kenwood unit I bought weren't even long enough to work because they were designed to use the sleeve. So there I was at 10:30 at night, confused as anything at the instructions so I called Crutchfield. They quickly told me that there are no instructions for what I needed to do to my Civic, and that the screws wouldn't work and I would have to go buy new ones. This is not what you want to hear at 10:30 at night when your car's dash is strung all over your garage. Also, there's plenty of room for the sleeve if the dash kit would have been made right. I have no idea why it's made this way. Now, any time I need to get into the back of the head unit I have to take my entire dash apart because I can't use the sleeve. Not cool. Additionally, my A/C controls barely fit, and some of the buttons stick. It doesn't seem a perfect fit.
Pros: It technically worked, barely.
Cons: Can't use double DIN sleeve with stereo installation, requiring you to mount your stereo directly to a '09 Honda Civic. A/C Controls didn't fit well into the Scosche dash replacement piece. Buttons stick. No instructions telling me that I would need to mount my stereo directly with screws that I would have to buy separately.

Color was a little off, but very accepable
Tim in NY from New York on 10/13/2015
The dash kit was pretty well built, but I had to file down the slot for the AC buttons. They were getting stuck in the 'down' position when I first installed the buttons. Yes, I tried moving them first, but there was too much plastic around the bottom. The OE screws cracked a few of the screw holes when I installed the hazard button and OE HVAC controls but it's holding real nicely regardless. The color was ALMOST perfect- you'd only see the difference if you stared at the two panels coming together for a while. The texture was perfect, and it went together real well. Overall, it's usable, and looks good.
Pros: Looks good, nice fit and finish on the dashboard itself.
Cons: Not so good fit and finish around the HVAC controls, needed some filing to allow buttons to work freely. Some screw holes cracked when using the OEM screws to reinstall the buttons, etc.

Scosche HA1561 Dash Kit - 8.15/10

Crutchfield ships fast and complete which I think softens me up so I'm not so critical :-) The unit is a bit "crispier" (delicate) than was hoping but install went pretty smoothly. I took the advice of other reviewers and slowly screwed the head unit and pocket into place. The finish texture and look/feel is different than stock, but I think it's acceptable and I believe on the owner/installer (aren't we all both?) will only notice if they are *looking* to see the difference. Although a bit flimsy when apart, all the pieces come together fairly well and I haven't notice any shaking or movement on my single DIN unit. I did have to sand down the plastic near the HVAC controls to prevent my defroster button from sticking. It was actually quite a bit of sanding, so be careful you don't scratch the visible surface when sanding (I think the seams are where my fitment issues were). The pocket is great to store my phone, Sansa Clip (yeah, I still use Rhapsody) and USB Drive with plenty of room. Initial impression of quality: 6.1/10 Price: 9.7/10 (especially with one-day free ship - thanks C-field) Fit: 8.3/10 (sanding, filing, squeezing, pushing, etc.) Finish 8.5/10 (how it looks compared to stock) Since the OEM navi bezel with comparable hardware/brackets was ~$160 at the dealer, I would likely go this route again simply for the cost savings.
Pros: Cost, one day free ship
Cons: Material quality and fit and finish - although at this price point I don't think I'm that disappointed. If this were ~$100, I would expect much more.

Scorched Honda Civic Dash Kit

2010 Honda Civic EX
The dash does fit technically fit in my 2010 honda civic. But A/C controls do not fit perfectly, the A/C knobs don't twist with ease anymore, and I can see that it has a big tolerance to fit many models
Pros: Installs securely
Cons: Not a exact perfect fit to my standards or to the stock dash before

The color, texture, and contour is ever so slightly off, and there are some small gaps around the passenger airbag light and hazard light buttons. The mounting/screw holes are a bit fragile as well, so make sure you have those screws lined up perfectly. Wish the ISO brackets weren't plastic-- they don't inspire a lot of confidence that they're going to hold up the head unit. Otherwise, it snapped into the dash and lined up pretty much perfectly.
Pros: Lines up perfectly with dash
Cons: Small gaps around buttons Plastic components are flimsy Color, texture, and contours are not a "perfect match," as advertised

Looks great! It took a little time getting the radio just right but worth every minute! Color isn't an exact match but very close! So thankful to be able to remove factory unit!
Pros: Works great, looks good, color is close
Cons: Bottom brackets should be metal not plastic.

Great product. Color matched good, and it was easy to install.
Pros: Easy to install. Sony XSP-N1BT Double DIN unit fit great. good color match. Had no trouble with my climate control knobs
Cons: Does slant back a little more than I like. My screen is my phone so I don't really have trouble with the sun.

Bad angle for '08 Civic
Jack from Nevada on 4/14/2015
I give it a second star because for the most part it was easy to install. The low rating is for 2 reasons. One is that my "max AC" button sticks. I was able to take it back apart and drill the holes a little bigger so I could adjust the heater unit just enough so that the button doesn't stick. The second, and biggest reason, is because it angles too much upward. This would seem to make sense so that it's easy for the driver and passenger to view the screen. However, during most parts of the day, in a Honda Civic the windshield lets a lot of sun in straight down on the dash and completely washes out the radio screen. During the middle of the day, the screen is washed out 3 out of 4 driving directions. They really need to instead try to make the screen straight vertical, or inset it further into the dash to get some shade. Not sure if I can do anything at this point since that is the design. Perhaps they will read this review and consider a different design.
Pros: Easy to install Looks like a factory finish
Cons: Slants upward allowing the sun to wash out the radio screen Heater unit did not fit well enough, causing one button to stick, until I was able to modify it to work.

Be ready to modify
Crutchfield customer from Maine on 4/5/2015
2010 Honda Civic LX
Be ready to do some hefty modifications to make this work. I bought this kit along with the Alpine CDE-W265T to go in my 2010 Civic LX. AC buttons stuck like most say they will so I had to use a dremel to make that opening larger (not a big deal). The plastic posts that the screws for the climate controls, airbag light and hazard lights button all cracked, but still held tight. Then, the biggest issue, was the metal cage/sleeve for the Alpine stereo didn't fit in the "double din" opening" in this kit. I had to melt/cut the lip on the top and the bottom of the opening to remove the lips to make it fit. Also, the plastic ring/jacket that came with this kit to go around the stereo also did not fit properly. After all of that, I got the stereo installed and the color of the dash kit matched near perfect as far as I can tell and all of the holding clips held tight once the kit was snapped in.
Pros: I got the Alpine CDE-W265BT installed
Cons: Climate control buttons stuck and needed modding to make them function Plastic posts for the screws all cracked "Double din" opening was too small for the metal cage/sleeve of my double din stereo

Scosche HA1561 Dash Kit
CPete from North Bend Oregon on 3/25/2015
When snapped into my dash, this kit fits fine but the color is slightly off. All OEM parts and pieces mounted pretty well but you might need to use some fine grit sand paper on the lower point where the climate controls sit. I found that my lower buttons would stick.
Pros: Ease of install, price, OEM like look and feel
Cons: Stereo mounting brackets are plastic, I wish they were metal and more secure feeling, color doesn't match, needs some sanding to make pieces fit and function properly.

Poor manufacture and materials! But it does the job (Day 1 so far)
Pros: Correct color after first receiving Dark Gray instead of Toupe. I spotted the difference, but it was extremely difficult to see. Once Taupe arrived, though, I could tell immediately it was the right color. The item packaging has 3 boxes with colors (Dark Gray, Toupe, Blue something) - but none were checked-marked. So make sure you are not getting Toupe insted of Dark Gray and vice versa! Fits the dash
Cons: Crutchfield lacks instructions for this item. A few thing worth mentioning: Once a plastic vent is installed, it will pretty much block a bolt for the stereo unit to half of one support bracket. The 2 x 8mm bolts will somewhat align through the bottom, but will not fit the plastic screw posts - they are too big and the screws need to be self-threading. I ended up getting a pair of different screws that fit. Fortunately, I had a another dash kit so I was able to fit the screw while the support

2008 Civic Sedan - It's ok (will likely require modification)
Miguel Sevilla from Washington on 3/1/2015
2008 Honda Civic DX
The color match is not great, but it's decent at this price. As others have noted here (and amazon reviews as well), the fit is not 100%. I had to take a dremel to the lower lip and bottom right corner where the buttons would stick. This was an extreme PITA, but I did eventually get it to fit. The retaining clips on the kit also pop out easily, so try not to pull it out once you've set it in there (I had to, due to fitment issues). I had no issues with the screw holes breaking (as others noted), but I did hand screw them in, and took care to not overtighten. Otherwise, it's a decent kit that gets the job done satisfactorily.
Pros: -Decent match to dark gray dashboard (for the price) -Other than the HVAC control area, there were no other fitment issues
Cons: The HVAC controls would stick when pushed, so the kit required some modification (sanded down lower lip and corner area of HVAC controls)

Required modifications to allow the buttons to pop out after they are pushed. Color is close but not a match.

Cons: Not a color match. Requires sanding on all ports where factory buttons will be installed otherwise buttons will not work properly.

The color is perfect, but the climate control buttons will stick in the "on" position if you don't modify the opening. I spent an hour with a Dremel and drill to modify it so the buttons would pop back up after releasing them.

Color match is horrible and the HVAC buttons are a SERIOUS problem.
Matt F from North Carolina on 11/24/2014
2006 Honda Civic EX
It's awful. You buy something to make your car look and function correctly, this does neither. The HVAC controls don't fit so the bottom buttons are always pushed down (I need to pull it back out now to sand it down (it seems this is a standard feature of this unit). The screw holes will break. The metal clips will fly off if you attempt to remove the unit to fit the HVAC issue. It's not even close to the correct color (Dark Grey) it's far too blue so I now have a 2 tone dash. It's not even caused by sun damage, it's just a totally different color and texture to the original. As far as I can tell they didn't even test this on a car before mass producing them. Absolute garbage, find another way of doing it because this isn't the answer if you want your car to look anywhere near correct inside.
Pros: It fits, sort of.
Cons: The HVAC buttons are stuck down at the bottom (as many other reveiwers have also noticed. The screw holes will all break when screwing in (pretty much the first turn causes the break) The metal clips WILL fly off into the back of your dash if you try to take this off again to fix the HVAC issues. If you have dark grey it's not going to match the dark grey interior, even kind of. It's a completely different color. I now have 2 tone dash.

Great fit, for the most part.
Alvin from Phoenix,AZ on 11/9/2014
The color matches the bezel it replaced and the fit and finish looks OEM. The retaining clips also line up very well with the factory holes.
Pros: Color matches the dash. Fits tight when buttoned down.
Cons: The bottom portion of the cut for the HVAC buttons needed to be sanded down a bit because the buttons were catching causing them to stick down when pressed. Some of the screw posts behind the bezel cracked as I was tightening the screw holding down the HVAC controls, air bag light, and hazard button.

Mediocre but works
JBricks from East Coast on 10/2/2014
2009 Honda Civic LX
Looks pretty good, but I had to use a dremel/sandpaper to bore out the holes so the climate control buttons would operate properly. Furthermore, every screw that went in sounded like it was going to crack the adapter. Also could use some more screw holes on the sides for more accurate mounting. A 5-star product with 2-star machining.
Pros: Appearance.
Cons: Brittle, poor machining.
