Good kit, but might need improvements

Easy installation and fit, the only issue I had was installing the actual stereo into the dash kit opening. I couldn't fit the stereo metal sleeve into the dash kit, but was able to secure the stereo using; M5-.80mm x 20mm, machine screws into the dash kit, one on each side. Then fit everything back together again, but I wasn't able to use the stereo trim, but still looks good.

Does not fit my receiver!!! This is supposed to fit my Pioneer DEH-X6900 BT receiver, which is why I bought it. The radio is 3/8" larger. Which means I need to seriously modify this or but a new one.

Looks great once installed. Tabs are flexible and will bend and break over time. I used double-sided foam tape under the tabs to adhere them to the top of the receiver for extra support. My old receiver was held in with the same kit, hence my experience with the deformed tabs.

Can't complain for the price

Adequate if slightly flimsy feeling. Easy to install, we'll see how it holds up with time. But for a free add-on to my radio purchase, I can't complain.

Bought a new radio for my fiancee as a Christmas gift. So today I went to install it and to my great displeasure it did not fit my new receiver. After some shoving and near breakage managed to install it sort of.

This kit had to be heavily modified with a Dremel in order to get it to fit my wife's dash correctly. It's very cheaply made. I had to shave off about 1/8th inch all the way around to get the receiver in the opening.

didn't fit

cheesy floppy plastic felt very unstable even after screwing it down and then the radio wouldn't even fit through the opening like it was supposed to.

Spent about 4 hours with a kit I bought from another store only to finally give up and conclude that it didn`t fit no matter what i did. Ordered this, it got here ahead of schedule and fit perfectly in the 2011 accent within 5 minutes. Great product!

Worked Fine

I gave it only a 4-star because just as pictured in the product picture above, the gap after installed at the bottom is larger than the gap at the top. I believe it has to do with the design that causes a bind. Although, in the product picture above the bottom gap is even, mine is not. I assume with some adjustments when secured with the screws I could have made mine even too but clearly there still would be a gap just as pictured here unless you jimmy rig some black shims to force down the top making both top and bottom even. The directions included from the manufacture were very poor, but anyone willing to do a job like this should have enough brains to figure it out. Considering the price (FREE with radio) and the car it's in, I am very happy with it.

OEM fit and quality!

Only complaint was there is no blanking plate enclosed for the storage compartment. I installed my XM unit in the compartment after cutting the rear out. I'll make my own Titanium cover for it :-) PERFECT Fit!!

Some cars are harder than others

Had a hard time popping out the center trim panel(without scratching the dash) initially, but that was probably due to my not getting the trim panel removal tool set that Crutchfield had recommended. However, I found a functional set that worked quite well. .............I still think Crutchfield is the best!

08 Hyundai / Not Quite Perfect

The receiver fit perfectly into the kit frame. The problem I had was that the Dual XDMA6415 has 2 metal tabs on each side of the radio which would not allow the installation brackets to fit properly (and snuggly) against the kit frame. The brackets "bowed out" & made the unit look uneven in the car. I took it out and dremeled 4 holes for the tabs on the brackets which allowed them to fit tightly against the frame of the kit. Customer service was very helpful and ask for a photo of what I did to fix the problem. Works and looks great.

Like everyone has said, install the radio from behind. Like another reviewer has also mentioned, I had a gap underneath my radio as my trim plate wouldn't fit. I looked around my shed and found some small black (same color as the kit) self stick weatherstripping-the kind you glue around your house windows and doors.I glued one row on the bottom of the kit (in three pieces are there are two ridges in the kit). This then brought the level up to the same height as the ridges. I then glued another solid piece all the way across, and on top of, the first strip. This more than made the gap that I had. When I put the radio in, it was a tight fit but the weatherstripping collapsed as it conformed to the bottom of th radio. The gap is no longer visible and if you didn't know better, you would think this came this way. It looks perfect. My only suggestion would be to make the plastic used in the kit harder- it was a bit too flexible for me.

WOW... Never ever have I had a install kit that made it look so clean. If you mount it from the back and not use the metal cage and the trim ring for you HD it fits like a glove. I am not sure why anyone would have an issue with this kit. My Kenwood KDC-X994 looks perfect. Read the manual and you will not have issues useing this kit to install your aftermarket raido.

Easy,,, even for a spaz

I am not great at doing this kind of thing , and I did this in about a half an hour (2010 Accent), and the majority of it was matching the wires on the adapter harness. Mine did come broken (Snapped at the top) and bent though, and I installed it anyway and it still held fine, I am asking for a replacement from Crutchfield, and it will probably take about 10 minutes to switch them out and thats with putting tools away. Like another reviewer said there is a small gap, but not that noticable. The crutchfield Master sheet was fine, and really only like three steps. I installed the Dual reciver with Bluetooth) Trust me, If I can do this you can do this, save your money and do it yourself, just use a rag when you remove the cover.

I installed a new Kenwood KDC-HD545U in just a few minutes in my 2009 Accent. The dash kit made it really simple to install. Not sure why several people had problems with the kit... Install the stereo from behind without the cage and it fits like a glove.

Perfect fit for 2006 Accent

Perfect fit for my 2006 Accent, install took less than 10-minutes for my new JVC KD-AHD69. The head unit mounts BEHIND the kit and you don't use the cage supplied with the head unit. The kit has a built-in cage with mounting brackets that secure the head unit to the kit and the kit to the vehicle chassis, it's very secure from movement.

Simple to install

Wasn't sure how this was going to go as a first time stereo installer. This kit and the instructions made simple work out of it. Removing the front part of the outer cover of the Sony head unit made it slide right into place. The inside dimension of the head unit slot was a tad bit big, as there was a tiny gap on the bottom, but only you as the installer would know that. It is nearly impossible to tell once the unit is in place.

Don't Buy this! It won't Work...

This product advertises that it allows a DIN size ( standard size) aftermarket stereo to be installed. It is NOT DIN size. It is too small. Perhaps it's made for a smaller factory stereo, but it will not work with your after-market stereo without extensive modification. I modified it to work, but it took significant labor: 1. I had to remove approx. 1/8 of an inch from three sides of the opening with a pneumatic cut-off wheel. I then had to more precisely size the opening with a file. 2. After the opening is enlarged to DIN size, the mounting brackets on the side (which hold the assembly in the dash) would not lay flat against the unit because the unit now hold a larger deck than the mount is designed for. Therefore a support ridge had to be ground off of each side bracket to get them to lay flat. 3. Another issue with this piece is discovered when you add the side mounting brackets. They don't leave room for the mounting cage tabs to be folded securely. Again, because this piece is clearly designed for some abnormally sized head unit. this was overcome by switching the mounting cage for another more expensive unit with more mounting tabs.

does not quiet fit

when installing a sony radio the sony instructions ask you to use their own cage (metal frame) and front plastic frame, none of this fits in this adapter for the hyundai accent 2007. you have to get rid of the sony cage and plastic front frame in order to slide the radio inside this adapter, this should be documented by crutchfield installations instructions, where they only indicate to follow receiver manufacturer instructions to mount radio. well the instructions clearly specify to slide radio onto cage and then place frontal plastic frame, in other words the cage is suppost to be install on the car adapter then you slide the radio into it, well this does not work, but in general the adapter did the trick after wasting 1 hour trying to use the manufacturer radio cage (metal frame).

Glosses over critical step

Sorry guys, but the kit is worthless unless you can install it! The "radio removal" instructions: 1. Using panel removal tool, unsnap dash bezel surrounding factory radio, lift away, disconnect and remove. What "panel removal tool"?!? There certainly isn't one included with this kit. Being that I'm not a professional stereo installer, nor am I a hyundai technician, this is a worthless instruction, and a show-stopper. If there was a PICTURE of this step, showing where to insert the thing, and what kind of pressure to apply, then maybe I could use something else. But the above text is ALL that's included.
