Sony image sensor
Scosche uses a Sony camera sensor with HDR for a sharp picture in bright and low light. The fully automated dash camera starts recording onto the included 64 GB microSD card once the engine is turned on and stops when the engine is turned off. You can use a microSD™ card with up to 256 GB of space. If something unexpected happens, Scosche's built-in G-sensor directs the camera to save essential video to free cloud storage.

Installation

Overview: The Scosche NEXS1 Full HD Smart Dash Camera is a forward-facing camera that keeps an eye on the road ahead as you travel. It records video to an inserted microSD card whenever you are driving. With a wide-angle 140° lens, the NEXS1 gives you a wide view of the road ahead. With the Nexar Safe Driving app, you can connect the camera to your smartphone for extra features. The camera includes a suction cup windshield mount for placement behind your rear view mirror. Its long power cable can be tucked away along the head liner and pillar trim, so it's virtually invisible.
Image Sensor: The NEXS1 is equipped with a Sony Starvis® image sensor with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p. The camera offers excellent low-light visibility and High Dynamic Range (HDR) to give you clear images night and day.
microSD Card Slot: The camera records video onto the included 64 GB microSD card. The card slot is compatible with cards up to 256 GB.
Accelerometer/G-sensor: The NEXS1 features a 3-axis G-sensor and accelerometer which can detect hard braking, sharp turns, fast accelerations, impacts, and other significant incidents when they occur. In case of an accident, video of the event is stored, along with details regarding your speed and the force of the impact. When paired to your smartphone, the Nexar Safe Driving app will store this data for free in the Nexar Cloud.
Event Button: On the back of the camera is a capacitive-touch "Event" button that lets you tag and upload a significant event to the app.
Insurance Reports: If you are in an accident, video and details (speed, force of impact, etc.) of the incident are gathered together into a concise report that you can send directly to a participating insurance company.
Nexar Safe Driving App: The free Nexar Safe Driving App, available for iOS and Android, provides an additional layer of protection. The camera connects to your phone via fast and reliable Wi-Fi. The app works with the GPS data in your phone to add location information to your driving data. You can also use your phone-based voice assistant (Siri and Google Assistant) to control the camera with your voice. The app allows you to view and share videos of your trips from your phone. The Nexar Safe Driving App is compatible with the following smartphones:

Parking Mode: When your vehicle is parked, and you and your phone are not in the vehicle, Parking Mode will record and save videos of incidents and impacts that may occur.
Installation: The NEXS1 comes with a suction cup mount to attach the camera to your windshield behind the rear view mirror. The 11.25' power cable can be tucked under the edge of the head liner and along the windshield using the included cable hooks and clips.
