These brackets were supplied for my 1993 Nissan 240 SX, website said they would fit. Installation in the rear needed some trimming unless I wanted to completely remove the plastic standoff already in place and mount directly to a metal bracket. Installation in the doors, had to trim off even more, was not a great fit.
Pros: Came with speaker purchase for free
Cons: Did not fit as advertsied.

Not worth the trouble
Scott from KC on 10/17/2019

Not much better than using a blank piece of plastic and drilling your own holes. Takes 8 screws to make work. Four to secure speaker to bracket, and then after drilling holes in your truck 4 more to mount. The Scosche door brackets are an awesome custom fit, but these are garbage. I used my old stock speakers as mounts instead. Cut out old speaker, and drilled/screwed on the speaker, then attached to vehicle just like stock.

Not an exact fit
William from Tallahassee, FL on 7/3/2017
1998 Chevrolet K Series
Everything fits together fine until it is time to assemble the speaker to the adapter. If you use the clips with the screws, the clips take up a lot space. The speaker then will not fit into the opening. The long screws also interfere with the fit into the speaker enclosure. Takes a lot of modification to make it work. Had to use machine bolts. Factory grill will not fit over any protrusion whatsoever so had to modify speaker grille. Exact fit was at best, an exaggeration, closer to an outright lie.
Pros: You can make it work if you are handy and have tools and hardware.
Cons: Looks good on paper, does not work in practice.

These did the job, but definitely required some fabrication that some people would not be ready for. I ended up sacrificing the stock speaker bracket assembly and epoxied these on so they look nicer and didnt require drilling into the sheet metal.
Pros: Works for lots of different vehicles, plenty of holes and slots for different uses.
Cons: Would have preferred something more specific to my vehicle. Plastic is fairly thin.

Inexpensive plastic mount, which seemed a bit flimsy. Overall, did the job. However, make sure you check the mounting of the speakers before you put everything together. I found that my car had a pin that meant that the bracket could only be used one way (out of the four possible orientations), so while I thought I was being smart and assembling the unit before taking the door apart, turned out I needed to rotate the speaker (due to the harness length). Also found that to properly secure the speaker, the supplied screws with the speaker weren't a great match for this bracket. Instead, I went and got 3/4 inch #8 screws and nylon lock nuts. I also had to put three #8 washers between the speaker and the mount, as the speaker would not sit flush inside the bracket (if I tightened the screws, then the bracket would flex into a curved shape). With those additions, it is a solid mounting solution.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: -Not a perfect fit for my speakers -Needed a touch of modification to make it fit just right. -No instructions (not that it's really necessary)

These speaker adapter plates fit perfectly in my 2005 Chevy Silverado. Yes I did have to drill holes in the factory location to mount these....no biggy. Thanks Crutchfield!
Pros: Fit perfectly and made installing the 4 inch speakers easy.
Cons: None!

Worst part of the install kit

These are good generic mounts but the problem I had was the factory screw heads slipped right through the holes provided had to put washers on heads to secure the speakers properly.

Scosche SA-64 Speaker Mounting Brackets
J-Money from Monroe, MI on 10/2/2011
1999 Chevrolet Cavalier
Worked like it should, although there was no specific instructions so I had no idea what to do with the little brackets they gave me. They didn't fit very well in the doors. Not sure if I did it right, but I lined up the holes and put screws in and they don't go into anything but these plastic adapters so stripping is easy to do. Also not sure if they will hold forever.

Scosche SA-64 Speaker Mounting Brackets
I would not have been able to change my speakers without this item, just a little triming of the plastic with a wire snips and installation was easy.

Great Mounting Kit
AC from Olathe, KS on 11/11/2010

I actually preferred this Scosche kit to the brackets that came with my JL Audio 4" speakers. The bracket provided a couple additional mounting locations that worked better with the factory location (still had to mark and drill). Even better knowing they were free and came with my purchase of speakers. Thanks Crutchfield!!

Scosche SA-64 Speaker Mounting Brackets
Billy from Henrico, VA on 2/10/2010
1997 Chevrolet Malibu
I rated these a 4 because they got the job done, but are not perfect. I was happy that these adapters had the little nubs to locate the speakers I used (4" Infinity References from ~1999 or so), but the plates were rather soft, and thus deformed around the speaker cone. Didn't really affect installation negatively, I would just like for them to be a bit sturdier.

Thanks, but no thanks
Clinton from Kansas City, Mo on 6/2/2009
2001 Pontiac Grand Am
Purchased the JL Audio C2, 4 inch coaxial speakers. These were to be installed in the front doors of a 01' Grand Am Coupe. The JL Audio C2's come with their own 4 X 6 inch adapters. Also included in the box, crutchfield supplied me with the schosche brand adapters. The scosche are flimsy in comparison to the JL adapters. I mounted the speakers with the JL supplied adapters and hardware. I'm very happy to have received the free mounting hardware, but it's not needed if you buy the JL Audio C2's.
