Scosche SAC653 Speaker Mounting Brackets

Was not impressed for my application. It took a bit of work for the speaker bolts (original) to fit. It was mentioned it would have to be drilled, have you ever tried to drill a slot in plastic? Ended up using a grinder. I had to add washers to hold the speakers.

Functional for repositioning mounting holes
Alex from San Diego, CA on 1/5/2019
2012 Volkswagen GTI
If you're just looking for an adapter to mount your speakers, these will work for you. They will bolt in to your existing mounting holes and provide more mounting hole options. If you're concerned about sound quality and sealing your speakers into your door, these will not work. In my case these came with a set of Morel speakers and are therefore not useful to me as my concern is sound quality compared to simply being an adapter. Their construction is also pretty flimsy, so be careful how tight you bolt them into your car as the mounting points will flex.
Pros: - These do function as mounting adapters if you purely want to reposition your mounting holes.
Cons: - These do not seal off the front of the speaker from the back of the speaker. - Lots of flex and flimsy construction.

Got these to install Kicker's in rear door of Xterra. Only needed to drill one hole and the speakers went in nicely. Fits perfectly behind the factory door panel.

Factory ungrade

Required to install Infinity Primus PR5002is rear panel speakers into a 2000 Chevy Camaro Convertible. They worked as designed placing the speaker at the desired location (depth). Could not install the speakers with out bracket.
Pros: Worked as designed
Cons: Instructions could be better.

didn't give enough depth

I had to trim the piece to fit and find that the depth was inadequate for the location of the speakers. After some adjustments to placement, I settled with something less desired but I was able to use these to get the speakers in place.

Works, but not a direct replacement
Chip from Browns Mills, NJ on 9/13/2014
2005 Nissan Xterra
For the Nissan Xterra rear speakers, this bracket does not quite fit exactly. With some effort, you can get a decent fit for the speaker in the hole lining up 2 of the existing holes and drilling one new. Use care when routing the wire, as the factory speaker wires plug in outside of the door panel, while the replacements will need to be fed into the door panel. Overall, still not a difficult installation.
Pros: Works.
Cons: Correct fit would be much better.

Let's not kid ourselves. These aren't some crazy difficult product to make and use. They're speaker brackets, and they excel at being speaker brackets. Took about 10 minutes to install the pair and they seem to be holding up very well since the install. So far no distortion noises from my speakers. Definitely a must have for xterra owners looking to replace their speaker system.
Pros: Easy install. Sturdy construction.
Cons: None so far.

Didn't quite fit the speakers they were intended for
rhutch from Pasadena, CA on 7/24/2013
2007 Nissan Xterra
Crutchfield sent these to accompany the Sony XS-GT1638F, but when I tried to put the speakers into these, they didn't quite fit. A little heavy pushing and one of the mounting tabs on those particular speakers would bend up enough to sit solidly into these mounting brackets. Not a problem for me, just thought I'd point that out.

These mounting brackets made the task of replacing the old factory speakers with the new 6 1/2's supplied by Crutchfield a snap. I spent more time placing back the factory panels than the time spent installing the new speakers. Thanks so much for supplying these FREE brackets, you guys are awesome!!
Pros: a win win situation!!
Cons: none

Drill, Drill, Drill............
Tanker from NY on 6/4/2011
2008 Nissan Xterra
Fits but after much drilling. Does not mount in factory holes and does not come with a template. You need to center the bracket and make sure that the holes have metal underneath to drill into. Speakers need 4 holes too for the not so self tapping screws. They should make one that fits better or warn that it's not a direct fit.

these came with my order of speakers for a 2011 nissan xterra, and at first i was very pleased, however when i went to screw the assembly to the door panel, i found that the tabs with the screw holes did not line up very well. i was able to get them screwed in, but it came at the cost of having to put the screws in at an angle and was not very sturdy :( i decided to return them because i am concerned my speakers may eventually fall out of the door panel after hitting miles and miles of bumps and potholes. these are listed as being intended for a different vehicle, and it seems pretty obvious why. i think a vehicle specific one should be molded to mate up to the holes better in the xterra.
