Working like a charm. Having Alexa is better than I thought.

A combination of tiring of paying for factory map updates, factory bluetooth and cd changer expiring on factory system had me looking at alternatives. The Garmin almost perfectly covers my stock NAV screen, provides free map updates, hands free calling (Ok but weak volume modulation compared to other streamed apps), and great streaming alternatives through the phone. Sure, could use a phone but the large dedicated screen, wireless connection to phone and Alexa integration make it a much more user friendly experience, albeit with some study of the online (printable) manual to gain best functionality. Screen has way better resolution than factory Nav on my older MDX - next move to purchase wireless camera to upgrade the poor factory camera. As far as navigation, there are a few quirks. My wife works at a largehealth facility in our mid-size town - amazingly the street address was not in the database, but the location pulled up by name through the Foursquare database. Traveling to St. Louis, the voice prompt failed to warn me of a pendingexit at perhaps the largest interstate junction in the city. Hence the 4 star rating - hoping those are anomalies and not indicative of the overall nav experience.
Pros: Alexa, good voice command recognition, outstanding screen, decent hands free calling
Cons: Nav database not as accurate as Google maps so far, volume a little weak on hands-free calling.
