About the Garmin GT15M-IH

Fishing deep in freshwater? Let this transducer help

Garmin's GT15M-IH 8-pin in-hull transducer makes it easier to find deep fishing spots in freshwater, thanks to CHIRP sonar that'll let you maintain depth accuracy, even when your craft is moving quickly. Got a fiberglass bass boat? Installing this transducer in the hull will help you avoid transom-mounted issues caused by cavitation bubbles. It packs 600 watts of power so it can read down to 1,900 feet in freshwater, and it'll work in saltwater, too. Pair it with select Garmin transom-mount transducers and an adapter cable so you can maintain depth at high speeds and scanning capabilities at trolling speeds.

The GT15M-IH's included cable runs 20 feet, and Garmin gives you four different in-hull tanks to help with installation. The tank you should use is determined by the deadrise angle of your boat at the location where you plan to install the transmitter.

Installation Note: If you haven't attempted this type of installation before, we recommend you consult with a professional.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The 600-watt Garmin GT15M-IH sonar transducer is designed for installing inside a fiberglass hull, instead of on the transom. The transducer features mid-band CHIRP traditional sonar (85-165 kHz), which provides views of fish and structure down to 1,900 feet in freshwater. It also transmits depth information to the connected chartplotter. The GT15M-IH comes with 4 plastic tanks that allow you to account for the deadrise angle of the hull when mounting the transducer. The transducer comes with an attached 20' cable with a (blue) 8-pin plug.

Optional CHIRP Traditional Sonar: With an optional Garmin Y-cable, you can pair the GT15M-IH with a Garmin GT36UHD-TM or GT56UHD-TM transducer to add CHIRP ClearVü and SideVü sonar to the connected chartplotter.

Specifications:

  • Frequencies Supported: CHIRP Mid-band: 85-165 kHz
  • Transmit Power (RMS): 600 watts
  • Beamwidth: 24° to 13°
  • Maximum Depth: 1,900 feet (freshwater)
  • Supported Deadrise Angles: 0° to 25° deadrise

Q
Does this cable/harness connect to seadoo GTX ?

A
I believe you are referring to a personal watercraft and this can be physically installed into the hull of some See-Doo models. The cable connects to a Garmin Chart Plotters as well as Fish Finders. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to get a personal recommendation on a setup for your Sea-Doo.
