About the Garmin GT8HW-IH

Find success on the water with an in-hull transducer

Garmin's GT8HW-IH 8-pin in-hull transducer makes it easier to find fishing spots thanks to high-wide CHIRP sonar that'll let you maintain depth accuracy, even when your craft is moving quickly. Got a fiberglass bass boat? Installing this transducer in the hull will help you avoid transom-mounted issues caused by cavitation bubbles. It boasts 250 watts of power so it can read down to 800 feet in freshwater. Pair it with select Garmin transom-mount transducers and an adapter cable so you can maintain depth at high speeds and scanning capabilities at trolling speeds.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Garmin GT8HW-IH is an in-hull mount sonar transducer. This 8-pin transducer has high-wide CHIRP traditional sonar (145-230kHz) and a 250-watt power rating. You can mount it in a flat section (less than 6° rise) inside a fiberglass hull to avoid cavitation issues common with transom-mounted transducers. It is an excellent way to maintain accurate depth readings in boats travelling at high speeds. With the optional Garmin Y-cable (010-12445-33), you can use the GT30-TM transom-mount transducer with the GT9HW-IH in-hull transducer to get depth readings at high speeds and scanning at trolling speeds. The GT8HW-IH has an attached 20' cable with a blue 8-pin connector, and an adhesive-backed foam in-hull fitting.
