About the Garmin Tacx Neo 2T Smart
Improved performance
Improved performance
What do you do when you've created one of the leading smart trainers on the market? Improve it, of course! The Tacx Neo 2T Smart takes the strong points of the Garmin Tacx Neo 2 — quiet and vibration-free operation, realistic feel, and pedaling analysis — and makes them even better. With the Neo 2T, you can tackle epic climbs, challenge other riders, and train with accurate metrics — whenever you choose, all from the comfort of your home.
Better climbs and sprints
The motor and magnet structure of Neo 2T Smart have been beefed up to better handle sudden changes in speed when you're sprinting, plus providing a more realistic experience when tackling tough climbs. Neo 2T Smart will simulate grades of up to 25%, while the Descent Feature kicks in motor assist to replicate the exhilaration of blasting a downhill. Road Feel replicates a variety of road surfaces, so you can ride on smooth asphalt, hit the gravel, or even take on the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix without springing for a plane ticket.
High-end pedaling analysis
Neo 2T Smart lets you fine-tune your pedal stroke by relaying info on your pedaling through ANT+ connectivity with a variety of third-party applications. You can use this data to optimize the power your legs provide to the pedals, giving you the edge on those long rides and climbs.
Connect and ride
The Neo 2T Smart supports Bluetooth and ANT+, allowing connection to an array of compatible smartphones, tablets, laptops, bike computers, and sports watches. When you're ready to hit the virtual road, choose from a variety of Garmin Tacx workouts and high-quality videos, then get riding. Neo 2T Smart outputs accurate power, cadence, and speed data, plus provides pedaling analysis so you can improve your technique.
After you're done training, you can export your rides to Strava, analyze data, and more. Neo 2T Smart also supports virtual training with Zwift, TrainerRoad, and all other popular training apps.

More details on the Garmin Tacx Neo 2T Smart
Product Research
Features
Overview: The Garmin Tacx Neo 2T Smart Trainer is an interactive, direct-drive trainer for use with most training bicycles. It operates in near silence as you train, and outputs accurate results to within 1%. With Bluetooth and ANT+ FE-C wireless protocol, the Neo 2T works with many popular third-party training apps, including Zwift, Trainer Road, and Tacx. The trainer provides a realistic ride and feel, and can replicate inclines up to a 25% gradient. The Neo 2 Smart Trainer comes with a free 30-day subscription to Garmin Tacx Premium software.
Compatibility: The Neo 2T is suitable for use with race, triathlon, and mountain bikes with 142 x 12mm and 148 x 12mm rear axles. It works with racing bikes with a 130mm rear fork width, and mountain bikes with 135mm, 142mm, and 148mm rear fork widths. Adapters for other widths are available. Suitable gear sprocket cassettes include Shimano / SRAM 8-to-11 speed, Campagnolo, SRAM XD and XD-R body (all sold separately). It is not compatible with specialized SCS systems.
Smart Trainer: The Neo 2T Smart Trainer features Bluetooth Smart technology and ANT+ FE-C fitness equipment control to connect to your smartphone or tablet running your favorite training apps. It works with Tacx software, or other third party training apps such as Zwift and TrainerRoad. The fitness apps running on your devices can control the Neo 2T to simulate courses with flat runs, descents, and inclines up to 25%. You can also use the trainer in stand-alone mode, or "unconnected." The trainer accurately (within 1%) outputs your speed, cadence, and power data to your smartphone, tablet, or Garmin Edge bike computer or sports watch. This includes a cadence sensor, pedal stroke analysis, and left/right power data. With the optional Garmin Tacx ANT+ Antenna (sold separately), you can send the data directly to your computer via USB.
Construction: The Garmin Tacx Neo 2T is a heavy duty trainer with 32 Neodymium magnets, and an overall weight of 47.4 pounds. When in use, it has a footprint of 33.75" x 24.0" and stands 17.0" high. When you're finished working out, the frame folds for easy transport and storage. Its sturdy design lets you ride full-out and standing on the pedals. The Neo 2T has a virtual flywheel, instead of an actual flywheel, which lets you achieve a more accurate simulation of the rider's weight. After entering your weight into the training app, the trainer can adjust the mass inertia to the circumstances, such as speed, slope, and weight. Vibration and noise levels are brought to the absolute minimum, so you can train without disturbing others.
Assembly: The Neo 2T Smart Trainer itself is fully assembled. You will need to install a compatible gear cassette (not included), and eventually the bike will need to be installed on the trainer body. All of the needed hardware is included in the box. The Neo 2T is powered by standard household current (110-240V), and comes with an AC adapter and power cord.
