No brainer safety device!
William from Columbia, SC on 9/15/2022
This is a must have for road cyclists. Car drivers are so distracted these days that the possibility of "close calls" or worse has increased. This Varia radar provides not only a visual que for drivers, but also lets you know about traffic overtaking you long before they overtake. I won't leave home without it.

Enhanced Cycling Safety
Douglas from RICHMOND, VA on 10/6/2021
A fantastic safety development for cyclists. If you ride on busy streets, this may save your life. Radar will notify you of overtaking vehicles before you can hear them. Works perfectly with my Garmin Edge Explorer (and other similar bike computers) and there is also a smart phone app (which I did not evaluate). There is another version without the built in tail light, which I also reviewed. Get this one if you don't have a tail light or want additional visibility. The lighting mode can be controlled from a Garmin Edge computer and flashes more when traffic is detected behind you. The radar functions the same for both versions. Well worth the cost and highly recommended!

I rarely refer to something as a game changer, but this product is for me. I had largely abandoned riding outdoors, but this gives me piece of mind to get back outside. It's literally like having eyes in the back of your head. I can stay focused on obstacles ahead and be aware of cars behind.

The newest garmin radar light is great and one great safety accessory! Makes riding on back road safer had it for a month and it never missed a car.
Pros: Bright light and very accurate radar!
Cons: Battery life is about 7 hours on flashing!

Wasn't sure about this at first. Sure, you can use a mirror, but that takes your eye off more eminent danger ahead. I appreciate the audible warning that comes from connecting to a Garmin head unit. I also like seeing how many cars are behind me, and the color-coding for speed is easy to read. We'll have to see about longevity of the battery. I feel this product will soon become part of how I ride, similar to lipless pedals, and I won't like riding without it! PRO TIP: Shorties! Mount the light upside down to give the radar clearance over your tire while still keeping the light visible - just make sure to flip the spacer upside down as well so the unit stays vertical.
