Garmin Swim 2

Meets my needs. I have completed ~34 miles of pool lap swim so far with this watch and works pretty well for this purpose. Counts laps on it's own (however, does not display laps during swim--only time and distance). On the app or computer (website) it gives you A LOT of data on your swim...pace (avg & max), stroke info (length, rate, & total strokes), swolf (efficiency), speed, training effect, and time spent in each heart zone. It keeps track of your personal bests on time/distance. You can export the data into csv file from the website if you really want to geek out. I really like the alerts part--it will vibrate at a set duration (i.e. 1 hour, 30 minutes, etc) or distance (this is irksome though because it limits you to 100 laps, which for me is only 2,500m). It has a pacing alert (to warn you when you are slowing down, but claims you have to manually have to hit the lap button each lap to make it work right, which for this swimmer is not happening). It is still winter here in CO so I have not tried it in open water yet. The cardio and run modes work ok. For some reason the heart rate zones don't show on these modes which is ridiculous since it clearly has the data (there is no hack for fixing it either, I checked!). I haven't tried all of the "smart watch" stuff like getting texts...not really my thing. This watch is sort of obnoxious in size, but you can customize the display like other Garmin watches. Battery loses 20% per day (avg). Overall, pretty good for swimming.
Pros: Great for lap swimming Good stroke data
Cons: Giant in size

This is a very neat piece of kit. I still am learning how to utilize all its features. It certainly is smart. I love the way it communicates to my iPhone. It monitors everything from my daily workouts to my sleep. I should also note that I got the usual prompt service from Crutchfield. This is the sixth purchase I've made from them since I "discovered " them. They've earned my loyalty.

Pros: Well designed for swimming
Cons: Letters should be bigger or darker for better reading

Great GPS Sport Tracker
Crutchfield customer from Hurricane, UT on 11/20/2020
I bought this swim watch because my other Fitbit Versa 2 smart watch was not tracking well in pool. I wanted to buy this mainly for open swimming and I will do that next summer. However this is great for my biking and walking and has tracked perfectly in the pool and on the bike. It has all the stats for weather, heart rate stop watch, phone notifications and more. The tiny prompts along the outside of the dial are very hard to read and when I was first setting it up, I did not even see them. This Garmin is a great tracking watch and compared to other Garmin GPS watches, the price was great and Crutchfield's had the best price and service. Was shipped quickly and came packed well. I will shop here again.
Pros:
Cons: I wish the tiny dial menu was more visible.

Great swim watch. You can see your time and your distance in the water. Garmin Support is helpful. The information on the face of the watch is large enough that you can see it and it is on all the time during your exercise. It is a true sports watch.
Pros: It is a really good swim watch and the image on the face is large enough to be visual. It is on all the time unlike as you participate in your sport-so you can actuall see what you are doing at the time. The Garmin Support was very helpful. It replaces my Apple 3 watch which never worked as a sports watch for me.
Cons: I do not find it very comfortable to wear. Garmin could produce better videos on how to use the product.
