Crutchfield Has Bike Tires!
GAM from Anchorage, AK on 12/4/2020
Probably not the first place you might consider to buy cycling equipment, particularly specialty type, but they do. I was seeking a specialty tire for my wife's new bike trainer (Garmin MTB 29er training tire). They had better website information than the manufacturer's website, and more importantly had it in stock when even the "death star" and manufacturer did not. I was skeptical so utilized Crutchfield's "schedule a call" feature on their website and received a call back at the appointed time. While the rep was not very familiar about the details of the tire fitment, I was sufficiently confident to place the order on the basis of Crutchfield's return policy. Lee placed the order there on the phone, in less time than it would have taken online. The tire arrived in Anchorage AK, 5 days later (a day ahead of shipping estimate) and was free to boot. Awesome. BTW if you are considering a Garmin Tacx Flow wheel on trainer purchase for your 29er mountain bike, you will absolutely need one of their training tires or equivalent. The outer dimension of the trainer tire is actually 28"; the maximum OD it can be to fit within the trainer frame without rubbing on the resistance unit, prohibiting proper engagement with the flywheel shaft.
