So easy to use

The bright display on vivoactive 3 does more than just look good. Its touchscreen surface gives you easy access to all of the watch's menus and functions with Garmin's Side Swipe™ feature. You can even customize the display for right- and left-handed users.

Connected to your tech

Once this Garmin is paired to your smartphone, you'll receive alerts for incoming emails, calls, texts, social media, and appointments. And you can use a variety of apps from the Connect IQ store to sync up with home automation, ride hailing apps, weather, and more. After your workout, the watch automatically syncs with the Garmin Connect™ mobile app, so you can immediately review info about your workout or activity level on your smartphone. And Garmin Connect will sync with many other popular fitness apps, so you can easily share your workouts with your friends.

Choose your sport

vivoactive 3 is a lot more than a running watch. It includes presets for running, swimming, strength, yoga, rowing, and more, and you can work with Garmin Connect to create custom workouts with your own reps, sets, and rest intervals.

Golfers rejoice!

If you want to hit the links, you can access over 38,000 golf courses from Garmin's golf course database. Download your favorite and you'll always know layup and dogleg distances, plus yardage to the front, middle, and back of the green.

Supporting your wellness

Garmin's Elevate™ wrist heart rate technology can track your heart rate during your exercise or throughout the day — no chest strap required. Heart rate data provides an accurate look at the calories you've burned, and also provides real-time feedback on the intensity of your training efforts — giving you the edge to make your workouts really count. Based on your data, you can determine your VO2 max — an excellent indicator of your aerobic fitness.

Staying active throughout the day

The vivoactive 3 activity tracking app records your steps and assigns you a daily step count goal to provide you with an incentive, adjusting the count as you hit your goals. And to remind you to get up from your desk, the red move bar appears on the display after 1 hour of inactivity. Since a good night's sleep will recharge you for the next day, you can use vivoactive 3 to record your sleep patterns.

Its functions are good although it does not have "Cadence" for runners like the "Forerunner" models in addition to the "touch" screen system when sweating hands while running does not work well.

This is my third Garmin Wearable I have owned. Having previously owned the original Vivosmart and then the Vivosmart HR. I have been very pleased with the device so far. Initial set-up was quick and easy and then as I got familiar with the device I was able to customize it to my liking. While my previous Vivosmart products had notification capabilities the screen was small, difficult to read, and harder to read when lighting was low. The upgrade to the Vivoactive 3 is well worth it. The display is normal watch size, bright and easy to read (even with the brightness setting only at 50%). You have the ability to dismiss notifications, send a small number of pre-set quick responses, and even have your phone call back the person who just called or texted you. The activity list from the device is fairly extensive and the GPS function works well. Once again, both upgrades from my previous devices and worth the extra price difference. Previously, for example I had to select cardio on my device and after the activity change it to Elliptical, etc within the app.

Pros: Customizable GPS Heart Rate Extensive Activity List Bright, Easy to Read Display Smart Watch Functionality

Cons: Digital watch face has limited data fields compared to some of the analog watch face options included on the device. I was able to easily find a free downloadable watch face that I liked from the Connect IQ store within the app.

    Very cool looking sports watch

Just got the vivoactive 3 black & slate color version - After years of wearing an activity tracker it's so nice to have that big classic watch face with all the perks of a smart watch device. So far everything works well starting with its very easy set-up. I have given it a 4-Star rating so far because i haven't tested the GPS or other activity apps other than running (which worked perfectly). I did noticed the battery life didn't last a full week but that could be because i used a brighter back light setting. So far very happy

Pros: sleek looking watch lots of features, and activities pre-installed Loads of widgets and apps to choose from very comfortable to wear but maybe not 24/7 Easy to change watch bands

Cons: More pre-loaded watch faces would be nice Battery might not last as long as advertised

    Great watch!

I purchased this Garmin for my wife. She's loving it for all of it's functionality. She wears it all day for complete motivation. I own the Garmin Fenix 5. The comparison is about the same and the vivoactive 3 edgeing it out with the touch screen.

    Pros: All the functionality!

It's a great watch once you get through the setup process. For some reason, it took multiple attempts to get the latest software downloaded right out of the box.

    Nice activity tracking watch

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like the watch. I did two runs with it so far. The GPS locks quickly, and tracks reliably even on a trail with lots of trees around. I use the digital face - I think it looks pretty good. The screen looks great outside and looks OK indoors with the light on, even though I am not big fun of the purple background. My biggest complain is that the watch did not notified me when my phone called on a few occasions. I had to reset the phone to make it work in this regard. I hope this will be solved with a software update.

    Pros:

    Cons:

Great so far minus one major screen issue

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased for the wife to replace an original vivoactive that was getting old. Usage is intuitive and the look and feel is fantastic . Early runs were outstanding and she could not stop raving about it. Then she ran a marathon. Granted, it was cold (around 26 degrees), but there were several problems. The data field screens began switching constantly halfway through the race and she couldn't get it to stop. When she crossed the finish line she was able to stop the activity because it works off of a physical button, but the touchscreen wouldn't work at all and she couldn't save it. I could stop and start the activity again, but the touchscreen wouldn't function at all to save it. I hoped it would work after warming up, but it simply stayed on and frozen until the batter died. After it died I plugged it in and it magically returned to the run activity upon booting up and the touchscreen now worked. Thankfully we were able to save the activity as if nothing had happened! Further testing is needed before we decide if we have a dud and I'll be contacting Garmin to investigate. Other than this one run it has been exceptional.

    Pros: Functionality Look/Feel Features

    Cons: Touchscreen reliability

So far a great watch. This is my 6 th Garmin watch and they just keep getting better over time. With regular use and 30 minute runs 3x a week the battery life is about 5-6 days before you are at 20%. Barely notice the watch on my wrist, I just wish the band was a bit wider for looks, still trying to find a good aftermarket band for that but the stock band is comfortable. Overall a well built and solid watch.
