Heart rate metrics

vivosmart HR+'s Elevate™ technology measures heart rate at the wrist, so you won't need a heart rate strap on your chest. This versatile tracker meaures calories burned and the distance you've traveled, plus — thanks to a built-in barometric altimeter — it can even record the number of floors you've climbed.

Make your move to better health

Your tracker will adjust your goals each day so you make a smooth transition to a better, more active lifestyle. And when you need a prompt, vivosmart HR+ reminds you to get up and move after a period of inactivity. Once you've done so, the timer resets and starts tracking your inactivity again.

Integrates with your smartphone

vivosmart HR+ pairs with your smartphone transfer data automatically to the Garmin Connect™ app so you can track your progress, join online challenges, earn virtual badges, or just compare notes with family and friends. And the smart notifications feature will alert you with a gentle vibration when you receive a text, email, or phone call.

A fantastic activity Tracker + Crutchfield advice = One happy user

James from Millsboro, DE on 6/24/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fantastic activity tracker! The scope of monitored activities is phenomenal, and the ease of calling them up makes it a breeze. Also, watching my statistics on my computer as well as on my phone is a deal maker! Initially I had some questions, but the Crutchfield technical advisor, was but a call away.

Pros: Easy to set up

Cons: Battery recharger icon only is visible 4 hrs. before it's depleted

Good tracking

Good step counter, and activity monitor. Ease of use a plus, heart rate monitor not very accurate.

Pros: The phone app and ease of use.

Cons: Heart rate monitor and stairs do not appear to be very accurate.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The GPS tracker and heart rate are good for both measuring the distance accuracy and heart rate all from your wrist. Much better than having the chest strap for my Garmin Forerunner. The rubber in the band is soft and very flexible, so it's comfortable to wear all the time. It is a bit bulky but not too bad. Would be nice to have a smaller women's version. It would also be nice to have specific biking and swimming activity tracker and be able to change the lap distances for different activities. And in a perfect world it would be nice to use for golfing. Being able to see email, texts, weather are a plus. I also love the sleep tracker. Very interesting.

Pros: Overall, it is a pretty good fitness tracker.

Cons: Could use longer battery

Good product so far...

Garmin vivosmart HR+ is a winner!

Steve from Seattle, WA on 3/13/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've owned the Vivosmart HR+ for about a month. I picked this device because I wanted to keep track of my steps and a general reading of my heart rate and I thought the GPS was a good idea. Charging the Garmin was simple and straightforward. When I put it on my wrist I can barely tell it's there. The wrist band is narrow and comfortable. When I set it up the on my device the instructions were straight forward and walked me through the set up of the unit. So far so good! I need to explore more of the ways to use this unit but I haven't taken the time. This is a much better device than my old one (a different brand).

Pros: Fit on my wrist is comfortable! I like the charging unit. Screen is visible. I like the swipe feature to go to different screens.

Cons: None

Great tracker of my daily activities

Barry from Ridgecrest, CA on 12/8/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this item based on ratings in a leading consumer review of like items. So far, I am still getting acquainted with all its features. I particularly like the GPS option which gives me a more accurate indication of how far I have walked, plus the ability to review my route on my iPhone. The heart rate monitor seems to be a little slow in updating (perhaps this is normal). This item was on sale when I purchased it, which was a deciding factor in my selection.

Pros: GPS accuracy, heart rate monitor

Cons: Could use a longer battery life

Love it

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Well this was a deal too good to pass up. I have been using Garmin fitness products since 2008, and the one thing I never liked about them was the heart rate strap. Now I have HR measurement on my wrist - no more chafing when running! As wearables go, this was my second. I previously wore a Jawbone, but it had far less features than this Garmin. It was also considerably smaller. Still, this one is better for me. I can wear it instead of my Forerunner when I run, thanks to the GPS (and Strava integration). I can wear it with my Edge when cycling, using it to broadcast my HR to the Edge, and I still get to use all my Edge features. The waterproof aspect is great - never have to take it off. I also like the Move reminders and the increase in goals automatically to constantly improve from one day to the next. Got it for a great price, which makes it all the more sweet. I'm still getting used to all the features, but I'm happy with the purchase and recommend it. Hoping some friends get one so we can challenge each other!

Pros: Part of the Garmin universe - easy integration w existing products; waterproof; move reminders; easy to use

Cons: Takes pretty long to charge; a bit bulky on the wrist - problematic for kettlebells, especially in the racked position

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent device, does everything I was looking for...steps, stairs, heart rate, sleep patterns. Good tracking of all this data in the app. Like the fact that I can take shower with it! Four stars because the app is sort of complicated and some desired info is buried 2 or 3 levels deep.

Garmin vivosmart® HR+

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is my 3rd Garmin vivosmart. The third time is a charm. I had the two earlier and cheaper versions of it and was not impressed with them. (The step count and mileage was way off). Fortunately with this one and the GPS the steps track accurately. There are lots of good features and am constantly finding new features. It interacts well with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5).

Pros: Lots of great features Quick link with satellites for GPS use Like the night light on it (earlier cheaper models of Garmin's did not have this)

Cons: Relatively short battery life (need to recharge it every 3 days or so)

Really love this unit - expensive but worth it!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love the features of the vivosmart HR+. The GPS tracker and heart rate are worth the extra bucks for both measuring the distance accuracy of your activity (to the hundredth of a mile) and heart rate all from your wrist. I didn't like the hassle of using the chest strap for my original vivofit (which I loved and worked great for 18 months - until I lost it in the ocean). Having a real clasp on the band of the HR+ means I won't lose this one. The rubber in the band is soft and very flexible, so it's comfortable to wear all the time. Being water resistant is a big plus. One of the things I liked about the original vivofit that you don't get on this is the long battery life. I've found after 2 months of ownership that charging the vivosmart is really quick so it's not the big deal. I bought an extra charging cable for cheap to throw in my travel bag. The other features are great. Being able to see email, texts, weather are a plus, as is being able to stop/pause/backup or go forward on any audio program from your phone... but the meat and potatoes of the tracker are workout features. You can see the basic data on the tracker while you workout, then you can then see a full/very detailed analysis of your workouts on the phone. You can overlay your heart rate graph and elevation or steps per minute to see the correlation... it gives you your pace... and more. My wife liked it so much she wanted one.

Pros: Great features and easy to use. Charges quickly when needed. Gets 5 days of operation on a charge (less when the GPS is actively tracking - but I only turn that on when taking a new route).

Cons: Not the most attractive of the trackers (but acceptable). My wife suggest a his and hers version (maybe a smaller size for women). It would be nice to have more color options or interchangeable bands.
