Replacement speakers for your 2-ohm factory system

Replacement speakers for your 2-ohm factory system

Some cars use low-impedance speakers to get a little more punch out of the factory radio. If you try to replace these speakers with standard 4-ohm aftermarket speakers, you'll notice a significant loss of volume — never a good thing — while 2-ohm replacement speakers have always been hard to find. Until now....

These specially designed PowerBass L Series 2-ohm speakers will make the most of your factory power. Install these L2-692T 6x9" car speakers, and you'll hear a big improvement in sound quality over your old factory speakers. Plus, their shallow mounting depth ensures they're a fit in a wide variety of vehicles too.

Step up to aftermarket quality

Say goodbye to flimsy factory woofers and whizzer cones. Sturdy yet sensitive polypropylene/carbon fiber woofers and butyl rubber surrounds deliver satisfying performance while enduring the extreme temperatures of life in your car doors. The 3/4" aluminum alloy dome tweeters bring the high range to life with the crisp detail that's been missing from your factory sound. Those highs are enhanced with a Wave Guide Lens that directs highs toward your ears for better stereo imaging and soundstaging.

Note: PowerBass designed these speakers for use with a 2-ohm factory system. Call an advisor to confirm compatibility with your vehicle.

Seems to be a well made, adequate replacement for the factory speakers in my car. Not a direct fit, but not many 2 ohm options. Meets, or exceeds OEM quality as far as sound is concerned.

Pros: Appear well made, sound quality with factory head unit.

Cons: A bit pricey when compared to 4 ohm options.

screw holes lined up well. speaker basket a bit large for the factory hole. rather than cutting the back deck, used foam to raise the speaker and seal the hole. sounds as good as the factory Infinity speakers

I purchased the speakers for my 2009 Nissan Sentra that still has the stock radio that requires a 2 ohm speaker I had 4 ohm speakers in there and they sounded horrible. The power bass speakers sound much better still not as good as the stock speakers probably because they have a higher wattage rating the stock speakers I think were rated at 20 W so I'm assuming that this stock radio isn't powerful enough to drive the speakers, also I like to add that your website was telling me that 6 x 9 speakers would not fit the rear deck of my Sentra but in fact that's the size on the rear deck and the door speakers are 6 x 9's in a 2009 Nissan Sentra.

Pros: Perfect fit, best price

Q
I have JVC DVDCD head unit with the factory Bose amp. Do you recommend these speakers or should I go with a 4 ohm speaker?

Hello. I think these speakers are very good. They are not expensive but the sound quality are very good. If you are looking for a good quality speakers with a deep bass, these speakers will do the job! I am happy with them. Hope this helps

If your head Unit is 2 ohms go with these powerbass speakers. They are made for factory replacements and work perfect for factory 2 ohm hrad units.

If you're running the Bose amp, you have to go with a 2 ohm speaker
[ Steven  Jul 12, 2019 ]

If you're working with a factory amp then I would recommend sticking with the same ohms speakers because I believe the amp bases the amount of power on the speaker resistance. I've heard of folks saying the output sounding softer after using a higher ohm speaker. The output of my Jeep Renegade with the Beats Audio stayed the same but I had better bass response with the new speakers.
