Step up to aftermarket quality

Say goodbye to flimsy factory woofers and whizzer cones. A sturdy yet sensitive injection-molded polypropylene woofer cone delivers the goods in the low frequencies while enduring the extreme temperatures of life in your car door. A 1" silk dome tweeter gives you smooth highs and all the detail you've been craving from your factory system.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

2013 Toyota Tundra

Perfect fit for the back doors of my 2013 Tundra CrewMax. I paired them with the matching OE69C-TY 6x9 components for the front. They are all powered by a Sony WX-GS920BH head unit which is 45w RMS and 100w max. They are very clean/clear sounding, with noticably better highs than factory and get plenty loud. The build also appears to be far superior to the factory speakers. I doubt the weak stock head unit would have been able to do these speakers justice.

Pros: Clean, clear sound, simple bolt in oem fitment with no cheap adapters to vibrate, build quality, far superior to stock.

Cons: None at the moment.

If you own a Toyota I recommend you check out this speaker. Some of the benefits are that it works with your factory speaker connection, creates a nice seal between the speaker and door panel and includes a water shield for any rain getting into the door frame. Extra rivets are included so all you need is a drill and rivet tool to install. A two-handed rivet tool really makes popping these in a breeze. The speakers sound great, no rattles or buzzes thanks to the factory fitment! I recommend adding some type of material over the plastic vapor barrier to beef up the speaker enclosure. I used Dynaliner. Replace the head unit or add an amplifier for even more performance.

Pros: Plug and play, build quality, sound

Cons:

Even though it states that they do not fit a 5th gen 4runner they do. I installed the 6x9's in the front and the 6.5" in the rear doors and tailgate. This fit like a glove, it took ma about 20 minutes to install them and the sound is great. once I pulled out the stock speakers I was so dissapointed with Toyota with such crappy speakers they put in. Just get these you will notice a huge difference in sound.

Customer Q&A

Q
Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
A
just like factory integration. seals correctly around door panels to keep sound waves from cancelling out or bouncing around. cheaper than the Focal factory integration speakers. [ Kurt  Aug 01, 2018 ]
A
I called the manufacturer and they stated that these should fit my rear speakers in my 2016 4Runner. (Non-JBL) [ Joey L.  May 16, 2018 ]
A
I chose these simply because they are custom-made to fit my vehicle. I am not too familiar with the PowerBass brand, but I was willing to give them a shot. Unless they are terrible, I am confident that they will sound good, and be better than the factory speakers. [ Baldemar  Feb 09, 2018 ]

Q
Six rivets included? Must I buy a rivet installation tool to install the speakers?

A
Yes.

If I remember correctly, the factory speakers were riveted in and I had to drill those out. I believe the kit might have come with both rivets and bolts/screws to give you the option. Either way, a rivet tool is inexpensive (Harbor Freight) and you can easily pick up screws at a hardware store if they aren't provided, but short answer; no, you don't have to rivet in the replacement speakers. My wife has the car at school with her so I can't walk out and check to se what I put back in.
[ timothy  Apr 12, 2019 ]
A
Yes. Although you could use screws or bolts, rivets would be less like to loosen over time due to the vibration on the speakers. (This causes that annoying speaker vibration)
[ Roberto  Apr 12, 2019 ]
Q
Will these fit in my 2017 rav4 non JBL system?
[ Noel D  Feb 01, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
I put these in my Toyota Yaris because Crutchfield shows they are a direct fit replacement. Best fitting replacements I have ever installed, and way better sound than factory speakers. If your vehicle selection shows they fit, you won't be disappointed. For the low cost I think they are a great mid-level speaker. For the record, I did not add tweets that are an optional addition because I didn't have a good pre-existing location.
