Perfect for scion xb

First of all awesome!! I have missed the oem sound so bad and this got it back. I took a chance because for some reason it says these will not fit scion xb but the speaker's page said they do and it was a perfect fit , no mod required and followed the instructions in half an hour it was done. Also the box they came in included scion xb in the list. Crutchfield should update that.

Highly recommend in 2014 Toyota Corolla LE

Installed these in my daughter's 2014 Toyota Corolla LE. The difference between the stock speaker and the PowerBass OE65C-TY is night and day. The PowerBass is considerably heavier, as the magnet is notably larger, and the cone and rubber surround are noticeably better quality. I installed the Stinger Roadkill RkFR6 FAST Rings at the same time. My daughter listens to rock, grunge, and EDM. The sound quality is so much better than the stock. Definitely more bass, MUCH clearer mids, and the highs are crisp. Even with the windows down at highway speed, the music came out loud and clear. Was definitely worth the upgrade. Absolutely recommend.

Pros: Definite improvement over stock speakers.

Cons: A bit of a pain to install, but there are plenty of YouTube videos that made it easier. That's the fault of Toyota, not the speakers.

Second Gen Prius - Worth every penny!

Ryan from Sterling, KS on 6/30/2022

2009 Toyota Prius

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I replaced the factory front speakers and am VERY pleased with the result. Highs are MUCH crisper vocals are now clear no longer muddy with higher bass songs and the bass is deeper. The factory units are surely more efficient so you'll want to recalibrate your mind and volume knob adjustment. Turn it up just a bit more than you normally would and these Powerbass units will open your eyes. With my 2009 Prius, '20' became '23' on the volume scale to make these speakers 'sing'. These can handle much higher volumes with out distorting even on music with serious bass. Side by side comparisons with the factory units playing Royal Deluxe's "Born for This" showed how much bass I was missing out on. Chile Peppers' "Scar Tissue" has a killer snare track and I felt like I was now in the drum and right next to Anthony's microphone. There is a much sharper attack with these tweeters and they are crystal clear with rock, acoustic guitar and classical. I haven't noticed any harshness at all. Installation was simple. I had no issues with fitment or the rivets, its the best of both worlds OEM product quality and an order of magnitude better sound. I wish PowerBass offered a OEM rear set for the Prius, I would buy immediately. You can't go wrong with these, I promise you will be impressed.

Pros: Highs, vocals, BASS, can handle more volume, sound great at lower volumes too. Price. Some say these are expensive but the time savings are real and worth it. I had no frustration with this install.

Cons: Need a rivet tool, but I really liked the install method. It is super solid and quick if you have a rivet tool.

I used these to replace the factory speakers in my 2016 Corolla. The instructions and the adapters for the tweeters were a life saver. The woofers fit great and the factory harness fit the speakers without any adapters. The sound of these speakers is clear and no noticiable distortion. They fit my need to have a better sound at an affordable price. I'm very glad I followed Crutchfield's speaker recommendation even though I had never heard of the PowerBass brand name. These speakers are a great deal.

Top notch for low-mid end systems.

Crutchfield customer from WV on 9/22/2021

2016 Toyota 4Runner

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

These are the American made version of Focal's. The sound quality is top notch for low-mid end systems. The only issue is loose plastic connector's & cold solder joints. If you know how to solder & have gorilla glue clear, these are minor fixes. You save money & are buying American made. The tweeters sound good, but you will need some of the Infinity tweeter crossovers or similar to get the hiss noise down on the Toyota system.

Pros: American made version of Focal's.

Cons: loose plastic connector's & cold solder joints. will need some of the Infinity tweeter crossovers or similar to get the hiss noise down on the Toyota system.

Perfect fit easy install , extra hardware if you don't have a rivet gun for install. I used the rivets , they broke off long , but tightened already so I just cut off with side cutters. Extra wiring with plugs for positioning tweeters if needed . Tweeters snapped right into stock holder .. super sound did not need amp . But if you like really loud music an amp would be great.

Pros: Fit perfect extra hardware for install and extra plugs and wire

Cons: Rivets broke off long , but did tighten,

2012 Toyota RAV4

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee review (What's this?)

Installed in a 2012 Toyota RAV4. Huge improvement over the old tired factory speakers. A few notes: * I don't know what Toyota was thinking when they used rivets to install the factory speakers. It was a real pain to have to drill out the rivets, especially when the rivet would just spin as you start drilling. I learned to start with a small 1/8" bit, then use a prybar to "pop" the flange off the rivet, so you can pull the speaker off. Once off, you can use nipper pliers to cut to top of the rivet off, then pull what's left out from the back side. * I started using the supplied rivets to re-install the new speakers, but they were JUNK. Terrible rivets, DO NOT USE THEM. One rivet sheared the flange off as I was squeezing, which left the pin of the rivet jammed inside my rivet gun. Had to take my rivet gun completely apart to get it out, took a long time. I was worried my rivet gun was done for, but I got it back together. Used proper #10-24 threaded "rivnuts" on the remaining speakers (I did all 4). * The speakers are already installed in adapters, which made it really easy (once I got the rivets out). So, you will not need the additional Metra adapters that Crutchfield includes. Now I have 2 sets of adapters and wiring harnesses in the package, unused, but Crutchfield doesn't want them back, so I guess I'll have to just throw them away, which is a waste. * No wiring or splicing is required (despite what the instructions said). Plug and play.

These sound much better than the original speakers.

Pros: The woofers were a straight and easy plug-and-play installation.

Cons: The tweeter housings are thicker than the factory tweeters, but this is a small "con." I simply cut a small notch on each side to engage the mounting clips, which was easy to do - far easier than fabricating a mount, as the instructions suggested.

This set was recommended for our 2008 Toyota Prius (base model). First let me say Crutchfield's step by step instructions makes it so much easier and makes them THE BEST place to buy audio upgrades!!! This set was super and so much better than the originals. Here's a photo fo front and back of both New and original speakers. See for yourself! All went great and the kit had all the needed hardware to make the installation easier.

Pros: Great sound upgrade, perfect fit, and has all the needed hardware (and Crutchfield's exclusive instructions) for installation!

Cons: NONE! OK, if I have say something here... maybe... They don't install themselves. ;-)
