Better quality materials means better sound

Say goodbye to flimsy factory woofers and whizzer cones. A sturdy yet sensitive injection-molded polypropylene woofer cone delivers the goods in the low frequencies while enduring the extreme temperatures of life in your car door. A 1" titanium inverted dome tweeter gives you smooth highs and all the detail you've been craving from your factory sound. PowerBass uses an inline crossover to ensure the tweeter isn't burdened with playing any low frequencies.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Bought these for my 2008 Tundra w/JBL. Was a good fit but not plug and play, had to use wire extension. Sound was acceptable compared to what I had however one of the tweeters did not work :( Would have kept them if it was not for that. Great Customer Service :) no problems exchanging them for Kenwood KFC-XP184C 7", easy to install with all included accessories, and sounds AMAZING. Thank You Crutchfield great customer service and sales.

Pros: almost direct fit plug and play

Cons: questionable reliability

I ordered these to replace the speakers in the front of my 4runner. Installation was simple, though i had to modify the tabs a bit to fit the factory locations. Bass was much better than the factory speakers. After 18 months, both speakers were inoperable. I removed them to find a failed solder joint. After a repair, they are working again but overall I am fairly disappointed in this product.

Pros: easy install, affordable

Cons: poor build quality

PowerBass OE69C-TY

Perfect fit for the front doors of my 2013 Tundra CrewMax. I paired them with the matching OE652-TY 6.5" for the rear. They are all powered by a Sony WX-GS920BH head unit which is 45w RMS and 100w max. They are very clean/clear sounding, with noticably better highs than factory and get plenty loud. The build also appears to be far superior to the factory speakers. I doubt the weak stock head unit would have been able to do these speakers justice. The only thing I can say negative is the lack of low end base but they aren't really designed for that being they are mid base drivers. Mid base sounds good though and the highs are very bright and crisp.

Pros: Clean, clear sound, build quality seems very good

Cons: Not as much bass as I hoped for but the mid bass is certainly there and very clear/crisp.

Horrible build quality, I have had 2 sets and out of the box one out was bad. Now, after 5 months having same issue. Powerbass's customer service is even worse than the build quality!

Features

Wiring: In most installations the OE69C-TY is designed for, the factory wiring harness plugs directly into the woofer frame. In the cases where that's not possible, a 10" wire extension is included.

Fit: The OE69C-TY is designed as a plug and play replacement for select Lexus and Toyota models. Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.

Rivets: Rivets are included for mounting the woofers. If you don't own (and don't want to buy) a rivet gun, screws can be used instead. Screws are not included.

Inverted Dome Tweeter: Because the tweeters include no grilles, the OE69C-TY should only be installed in applications where there is a factory tweeter (with a grille).

Customer Q&A

Q
Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
A
Good reviews elsewhere on internet for my 2016 4Runner (Non-JBL). [ Joey L.  May 16, 2018 ]
A
These look to be perfect for what I intend to do with my system. I will be using only the woofer, strictly for midbass and hoping that my dash speakers can cover the rest with that stress removed. They are custom made for the front doors, and I am hoping that PowerBass makes a good product that won't disappoint. [ Baldemar  Feb 09, 2018 ]
A
Factory fit in a hard to fit enclosure. [ Micah  Jul 18, 2017 ]
