Nice upgrade for the factory system.

These sound substantially better than the chintzy factory Toyota speakers even with the factory head unit and are a good fit in the front door and dash of the 5th gen 4Runner. The build quality is good except for the fact that the crossover coil is hanging free, only attached by it's soldered leads. They wiggle freely garanteeing eventual failure with the vibrations while driving. I hot glued them to the frame of the speaker to preventing problems down the road (pardon the pun!). Contrary to the PowerBass and Crutchfield websites the matching PowerBass OE652-TY fit perfectly in the rear door and tailgate of the 5th gen 4Runner and are also a major improvement over the Toyota units. Overall I do recommend this setup, especially if you're running the factory head unit.
Pros: Substantantial improvement over the factory speakers.
Cons: Some build issues.

2008 Tundra w/JBL

Bought these for my 2008 Tundra w/JBL. Was a good fit but not plug and play, had to use wire extension. Sound was acceptable compared to what I had however one of the tweeters did not work :( Would have kept them if it was not for that. Great Customer Service :) no problems exchanging them for Kenwood KFC-XP184C 7", easy to install with all included accessories, and sounds AMAZING. Thank You Crutchfield great customer service and sales.
Pros: almost direct fit plug and play
Cons: questionable reliability

I ordered these to replace the speakers in the front of my 4runner. Installation was simple, though i had to modify the tabs a bit to fit the factory locations. Bass was much better than the factory speakers. After 18 months, both speakers were inoperable. I removed them to find a failed solder joint. After a repair, they are working again but overall I am fairly disappointed in this product.
Pros: easy install, affordable
Cons: poor build quality

PowerBass OE69C-TY
Matthew from Jacksonville, FL on 5/28/2019
2013 Toyota Tundra
Perfect fit for the front doors of my 2013 Tundra CrewMax. I paired them with the matching OE652-TY 6.5" for the rear. They are all powered by a Sony WX-GS920BH head unit which is 45w RMS and 100w max. They are very clean/clear sounding, with noticably better highs than factory and get plenty loud. The build also appears to be far superior to the factory speakers. I doubt the weak stock head unit would have been able to do these speakers justice. The only thing I can say negative is the lack of low end base but they aren't really designed for that being they are mid base drivers. Mid base sounds good though and the highs are very bright and crisp.
Pros: Clean, clear sound, build quality seems very good
Cons: Not as much bass as I hoped for but the mid bass is certainly there and very clear/crisp.

Horrible build quality, I have had 2 sets and out of the box one out was bad. Now, after 5 months having same issue. Powerbass's customer service is even worse than the build quality!
