This is one tough little Roller Tool & it's well worth the price if you are looking for a one-time-only install. If you're a professional doing multiple sound-deadener installs (what is WRONG with you...masochist?!?), then please move along. Its simple, wood & metal design is lightweight yet durable enough to survive the installation demands of 2 Trunk Kits and a Bulk Pack of DYNAMAT Xtreme before finally giving out. It got the job done, and that's all I could've asked for.
Pros: Lightweight, Strong, Durable. Simple to use. Effective at pressing sound deadener sheets (DYNAMAT) onto panels.The end of the Handle can also be used to press & flatten DYNAMAT into small surfaces.
Cons: Not made to last past singular/small install projects. If you plan to reuse your Roller in the future; invest in a Rubber Roller Tool instead. Not effective in tight spaces (such as the inner panels of a door frame), as the roller needs clearance to do its thing. Press too hard, and the edges of the roller will slice into DYNAMAT's aluminum outer layer.

I know what you're thinking. It's just a roller, right? How does it get 5 stars? Well, it didn't break. Online reviews of cheapo versions talk about bending or breaking of the metal parts. This one survived 4 doors and a rear seat. Another reason for the high score would be the wood roller. It's solid enough to press into deadening material, but not so hard that it scratches the surface you're working on. My previous roller was metal. The knurling and hardness meant one slip and you've scratched your paint or gouged your Dynamat. Definitely get this one instead of a metal one.

Works great! You can also use the handle to conform the Dynamat into indented areas and along straight lines. I wouldn't apply Dynamat without one of these rollers.

Great little tool for sound deadening.

It works and really is handy for putting in sound deadening. Makes getting the material in contact the car much easier. Surprisingly not terribly expensive for a name brand. Just be careful not to put too much pressure on it as I have bent one already. Instead of pressure, just got over the are multiple times and add heat if necessary. This and heat make deadening stick easier.

Cons: Be careful about putting too much force on it as it can bend. See above.

This roller was fantastic! I highly recommend using one for your sound deadening needs!
Pros: This was a lifesaver! I highly recommend getting one to help you get your soundproofing mat into all of the different nooks and crannies.
Cons: It didn't fit into all of the recesses I soundproofed, but even a smaller one wouldn't have. Some places just have to be caressed by other means......

I would recommend that if you purchase Dynamat (any size) to go ahead and purchase the roller as well. It helps to seal out any air pockets. That may cause your dynamat to not stick fully to the part that you are applying it to.

Flattens as it rolls

This roller does everything it says it does and more. Used it to securely adhere my Dynamat to my door. Rolls and flattens as you would expect. When I was finished I used it to flatten some dough to make cookies for my wife. After we ate those I gave my wife one great massage. You can't go wrong with this roller!
