Night and day difference, so far I have only done the rear doors on my Raptor but just that removed almost all road noise while driving.

Great stuff!

In hindsight I should have taken a measurement to prove the difference but this stuff really works! I bought an older boat with an outboard motor and man this motor was loud. It was annoying because every boat around us, at most times, was pretty quiet. After seeing the old decrepit foam on the cowling I decided to remove it and put the dynomat on its place. Huge difference! If I were to guess I would say at least 10 db quieter now. It was super easy to put in place and roll down. Very happy with the results. I bought the big pack so I can use it in my car but that will have to wait for another time. Total install time was about 30 mins.

Dynamat Xtreme Mega Pak

If you're looking for complete coverage of vehicle than multiple mega packs are the way to go, I spent wasteful money buying trunk kit ,door kit or smaller quantity packages thinking it would be enough but application isn't straight forward with curves etc of vehicle and need to cut off applied pieces at certain points ending up with waste or trying to fit cutoff pieces in various gap areas. experienced installers may have better installing techniques with less waste but every vehicle is different so I think it is what it is regardless that you can't ever be certain what it will take if your after complete coverage? If applying in hot weather or running vehicle heat in winter before interior is reinstalled this product can get sticky and messy needing goofoff or similar tar remover if it gets on interior trim, clothes which resulted in staining or discoloring some interior panels and leather seats .

Pros: Works

Cons: Hard to estimate needed product ( my opinion) can get messy in hot conditions.

2016 F250 install

Crutchfield customer from Hobbs, NM on 8/30/2020

Worth the money! If your on the fence about this don't be. Get it!

Pros: Works great! Easy to install! It made a huge difference in outside noise and rattling inside the cab. I don't know what words to use to describe it but the sound is more there? In the cab? If that makes sense. I installed it in a 2016 F250 behind backseats, back floorboards, both back doors & front doors. Still had two sheet left that later will get put in front floorboards.

Cons: No cons just wear gloves lol

Ka-ching but installs easily and hassle free

In spite of the hefty price tag for this product, I gave it 5 stars because of how it performed during install. I was prepared for a real bloody battle dealing with Dynamat after reading another customer's review describing "death by a thousand cuts" from the foil facing. They highly advised wearing gloves while handling it. I've been building houses and working with my hands for 45 years now. I've never liked wearing gloves because you lose tactile contact with the materials you are working with (other than grouting tile or plastering walls!). I didn't wear gloves when I installed the 9- 24"x48" sheets of Dynamat in my 1980 Honda Civic 3 door hatchback project car. I didn't get a single cut. Dynamat is very pliable and form fitting; it will mold itself (with help from your fingers, especially your thumbs) into any shape you might encounter in your car's roof, door panels or floor pan. It will pull off of itself or any material in your car if you accidently position it incorrectly. It cuts like a breeze with a utility knife or a sharp pair of scissors. The aluminium facing is tough and flexible; it will not rip or tear unless you really want it to. Don't try and use the full sheets; do small areas at a time (your car's interior will probably make you do that anyway) and overlap edges to get full coverage. I did my roof, 2 doors, floor pan (removed seats) with the Mega Pack and used 3 - 32"x50"x 1/2" sheets of Dynaliner on roof and floor. Sound review coming.

Pros: Being a builder, I like products that do what they say they will. Dynamat Extreme went on like a breeze; I didn't have to help it along with a single four letter adjective and for a carpenter that is saying loads.

Cons: Cost. Cost. Cost. I don't know why it is so pricey; maybe the manufacturing process uses expensive materials and technology. I don't know. The true test will be when I get on the open road and fire up my brand new sound system from Crutchfield. I will know immediately if my time and money were well spent on Dynamat products. Stay tuned; I will send in that review shortly.

Do It Right The First Time

Hardcore Harley from Arkansas on 9/5/2016

I just took possession of my new 2016 Ford Transit Connect Cargo Van that I use for film production. I immediately installed Dynamat Extreme and Dynaliner throughout the entire interior. I created templates for every single cut in advance. The templates helped to dramatically speed up the installation process and reduce waste to virtually nil. Because the van is painted black, I also opted to use 1/2" Dynaliner on the roof to reduce thermal heat transfer. I used 1/4" Dynaliner on all the metal body panels and body cavities (over Dynamat) and used 1/8" Dynaliner (over Dynamat) on the front driver and passenger doors behind the door panels. While I primarily used the Dynaliner to make the interior a little bit cooler during the summer months, I was impressed at how much it assisted in aiding additional sound deadening, a noticeable difference over just Dynamat alone. I also installed Dynamat and 1/8" Dynaliner on the back side of the metal bulkhead to stop an annoying vibration noise. I taped every seam and edge with Dyna Tape to prevent butyl seepage on my film gear and cases. The only two pieces of equipment that made the job easier was a tennis ball (for medium curved radiuses) and a hard plastic curved fruit peeler (for small tight radiuses). Bargain hunters beware: Dynamat only warranties their products when purchased through authorized dealers. They don't sell their products on Amazon. Don't get taken by knock off products on the gray market.

Pros: This is the best system to reduce road and engine noise in your vehicle. It is a seamless system that makes installation a breeze. If you can afford it, go with both Dynamat Extreme covered by Dynaliner. Together, they offer great sound deadening and they provide the added benefit of reducing thermal transfer of heat in the summer months.

Cons: The only con is the additional weight of the products if you are using these in a street or track racing vehicle. For a daily driver, that is inconsequential. Must be installed in a warm climate.

2nd car with Dynamat

Victor from Miami, FL on 7/20/2016

This is the second car I use Dynamat on. First one was a 2010 Tacoma double cab. The change was tremendous. Felt like I was driving around a 50k car. I was able to do the entire floor, headliner and doors. The second was a 2014 SHO. Was not that effective, not because of the Dynamat, but because of the way Ford Glues all cables to the headliner. So to avoid ripping cables or ruining the headliner, I was only able to do the doors and floors. The change was noticeable but I wish I would have been able to do the headliner.

Pros: Makes a tin can car feel like a luxury vehicle

Cons: Adds weight to the car

Excellent Product, Very surprising results

I purchased this product since as a bulk package it was the best value per square foot. This covered all 4 Doors, the entire floor pan from rear seat to the firewall, the rear deck, and the entire trunk. This installation significantly reduced rattle and road noise as well as reduced the resonance of the bass coming from the trunk. I have 2- 12 inch Subs and they no longer shake the doors. While testing driving after installation, if there was no wind I would not have been able to tell I was driving. One of the downsides of my installation was the time commitment. I did the install by myself and spent about 30 hours over 3 days.

Pros: "Xtreme" -ly Effective Package went all the way

Cons: Time to install Glove highly suggested, I had many cuts on my hands and raw skin from the adhesive (from separating the mat from the backing.)

Not Just For Sound System Enhancement

TechBoyBen from Memphis, TN on 4/2/2012

Verified employee review (What's this?)

When I mention that I installed DynaMat in my souped up 2001 Mustang GT, I normaly get intresting feedback because until here recently I've been rocking my stock stereo and speakers. The road noise created by the performance exhaust system, stiffer suspension, and wider tires is enough that I just never worried about music quality. So, why did I install it? Installing Dynamat in the floorpan, doors, back quarter panels, rear shelf, trunk, and trunk lid (all done with one Dynamat Extreme Mega Pack) has reduce the internal noise level in my car by what I estimate to be 40%. My wife was amazed the first time she rode in the car after the install. She was excited that she could enjoy a fun ride and be able to have a conversation without yelling over the car noise. Now if Dynamat could find a way to keep the noise out while the windows were down, I'd be in heaven! Now that the road noise is reduced so significantly, I have started playing with sound system upgrades. Suggestion: Invest in a good quality roller instead of a cheap one, a good blade to cut the pieces with, and a heat gun. I started the project without any of these and quickly realized just how valuable they were. It may add a little more to the cost, but trust me, all of it is worth EVERY PENNY!

Pros: In a normal car, it would sound silent in your car, in a throaty sports car it reduces down the noise so you can enjoy the power without comprimise!

Cons: Death by a million cuts. LOL Installation will result in minor cuts in your hands nomatter how carefull you are if you're not wearng gloves! Also, installation on a level like I did will require a full weekend. You'll want to strip the interior of your car out to do the job right, and you want to do the job right. It's not a quick fix.
