I'm loyal to Sony. This model did not disappoint. Turned on YouTube to stream some 8k videos of animals. It was as if I had a zoo in my living room. The picture is so vivid it has depth and I would swear it is in 3D. I was nervous about set-up with my sound bar and Apple TV. I laughed when it was complete in under 5 minutes. I've become accustomed to great Sony Video but probably even more impressed with how slick the set-up automation has advanced. I could have paid 2x for Sony's next tier system but I suspect my 50+ year old eyes would have been hard pressed to see a difference. I think this TV may be perfect but I withhold that judgment until I see what Sony does next. The TV is on sale. Just buy it.

A Treat for Movie Fans

There's no blurring of blacks on this tv. Crisp, uniform, even on old movies. 4K, of course, is spectacular. The sound that comes with the set is clearly separated stereo. Is it equivalent to an IMAX experience? Of course not, but it's a fine, clear, very cool looking tv experience.

Simply The Best

I have been a Sony TV fan for well over 30 years. With the A90J series the picture is so accurate, smooth and almost three dimensional it's more like a window to the world than a TV. Another amazing upgrade is the sound quality. This TV really has some serious output for a flat screen TV. The new leg set up is a great design too. Could not be happier with my purchase. Movie night anyone?

I recently received my order and could not wait to put it up on the wall. This is a large TV at 83" and is not light. You will need a second or third person to comfortably lift and set this TV. The OLED display does not disappoint when it comes to movie watching in a light controlled setting. It does have a semi glossy screen so it may reflect lights behind or to the side of you when watching, you just need to account for that and turn off or dim or block accordingly. I would not get a chromecast, Roku, or such for this TV for streaming. The built in upscaling is top notch and has very little to no artifacting. The only limiting thing is the amount of 4K 120Hz HDMI ports on this TV, 2. And one of them is eARC. That being said, if you have the pocketbook to get this TV buying an AV receiver or an AV pre-amp with the desired amount of ports and switching is not too difficult. The speakers are surprisingly good, but surround sound is better. The TLDR is: Outstanding OLED screen, if in a super bright room or watching dark movies/tv may want to block light sources, built in apps are snappy, built in upscaling is better than most exterior upscaling, heavy tv would suggest help for setup, tv speakers are good but surround sound is better.

I've had the privilege to own several state of the art TVs over the years, but my new Sony A90J certainly beats them all. I've waited for an OLED display that could get brighter than the early models, and this one certainly delivers. If you've hesitated with the purchase of an OLED because of what you may have read about brightness, don't wait any longer. I have mine in a large multipurpose room (not a dedicated home theater space) with several windows, and it is bright enough to watch during the day. My previous TV was a 4 year old Samsung Q9FN, also a top line display when it was new, and the brightness of the A90J is certainly comparable. But, now I have unbelievable good black levels, and the 3D quality of some programming is remarkable. I know there is a newer version, the A95K, which is supposed to be brighter still, but it is not available in the 83" size. If you're looking for a new display in this size range, and you have a couple of friends to help unpack it and set it up, I think this is the one to get. It's the best television picture I've ever seen, anywhere.

I'm so happy with this purchase! Moved on from a 65" plasma, which also had a great picture, but frankly this picture in 4K is amazing. The upscaling of SDR material is also much better than I expected. It's a "very" large TV which needs a big wall, and more than one person to install, but it's well worth the investment. Shoutout to Willy for making my purchase a smooth one!

I'm not an expert but after seeing the picture in a store, we just had to have this TV. The picture is absolutely amazing. We bought this TV because we recently bought a new house with a basement, and we turned the space into an entertainment area. We have used it for family movie nights and online gaming using the XBOX Series X. Using the XBOX Series X to view Blu-ray 4k movies with the Crutchfield 2.1 HDMI is a must. We mounted the TV on the wall with a Sanus wall mount which we also purchased from Crutchfield. The whole family is happily impressed with this TV!

Fantastic TV and installation.

To not bore you all with repetitious accolades I just want to say I agree whole heartedly without everyone else on here. I would like to add that the two gentlemen that were sent up from the Harrisonburg store were outstanding technicians. Very respectful and polite which is what I have come to expect over the years from Crutchfield. Well worth the money for the travel since I live in Winchester VA and the labor. You get what you pay for is generally true.

Almost Perfect Large Screen TV

Well, to simply put it, this is the BEST picture I've ever seen on a TV. Especially when paired with a 4K UHD DVD player and 2.1 HDMI cable. It was a "bear" to get the legs on by myself, but I had two men help me lift the TV onto a console. I have a new (from Crutchfield, of course) Devialet Dionne soundbar, but the TV sound also was excellent. It may take me the rest of my life to learn all the features! I have the set in my "man cave" so the OLED screen is not a problem--not much ambient light. I would imagine the smaller sizes are even more spectacular!

What an awesome television!!! We had an LG OLED65C8 for about 18 months until someone broke into our house in January, 2022, and stole the TV and sound bar. My wife wanted me to stay with LG as we had been satisfied. I'm glad I held out for the Sony as it's so much better than the LG. I believed the reviews on Youtube that said the Sony XR83A90J was the best tv on the market. Awesome, Awesome TV!

Fantastic television. Installed by Crutchfield and paired with the Sonos Arc sound bar and woofer. Colors are bright and the picture incredibly clear. When watching 4k content, nothing compares to this TV.
