Best Sony lens I own Sharp at 1.8 Very well might. You need to buy this lens and leave on your camera. Use your feet to zoom.

A good lens

This is a good lens. Lightweight, very sharp and great color reproduction. This is a good lens to pair with your mirrorless A7 series camera. Its not very big or heavy and the 49mm filter size will not break the bank if you shoot with filters. The only drawback to this lens is the onion ring bokeh it sometimes produces I shot several pictures at wide apertures with Christmas lights in the background. On several, the onion ring highlights were very noticeable. Other than that, I have no complaints and if I need to shoot something like this in the future, Ill probably opt for another lens. In photography, bokeh (Originally /'bo?k?/, /'bo?ke?/ BOH-kay - also sometimes pronounced as /'bo?k?/ BOH-k?, Japanese: [boke]) is the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in the out-of-focus parts of an image produced by a lens. Bokeh has been defined as "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light".

Pros: Lightweight, sharp, color reproduction.

Cons: Onion ring bokeh, price

Great lens. Im not a techie, so I cant give you a review in tech terms, just a hobby photography guy. Sharp lens, used with my Sony A7. Never needed a flash even for indoor museum and cathedral pics on a recent visit to Paris.

Pros: light, sharp, F2.8

Cons: not cheap
