Features
Woofer Cones: The XS-FB series woofers use MRC cones (Mica Reinforced Cellular glass fiber composite) to reduce weight and increase rigidity, delivering full bass response.
Treated Cloth Surrounds: Each woofer uses a treated cloth surround for added reliability and efficiency.
Tweeters: Each speaker features a 1-7/16" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) balanced-dome tweeter. PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter. A 1/4" PEI dome super tweeter further reinforces the high frequency output.
Specification Note: Sony's rated power spec for the XS-FB1630 is 40 watts (derived using IEC 60268-5 standards). In the manual they also list the CEA 2031 compliant RMS power as 45 watts. We've adopted the 45 watt RMS rating because CEA 2031 is the more common rating system.
Mounting: The speaker basket has multiple mounting holes and is designed to fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2" applications, 4-hole 6-1/2" applications, and standard 4-hole 6-3/4" applications. (When mounting in a 6-3/4" application, use a speaker baffle to seal the inner ring of screw holes.)

Overall these speakers blew me away. Especially compared to the factory speakers in my 2012 Honda. Great highs and mids, but barely audible lows. If purchasing these speakers, make sure to get a sub or two to get the one thing these speakers can't provide.
