Almost a five star...but not quite....

I bought this camera to replace an older Canon HD camera I picked up in 2012. I mostly do still photography with Nikon DSLR's, but I like to have a good video camera lying around to shoot with occasionally. The Sony adds 4K capability, but that is something I really can't take advantage of at the moment. I do like the large lens and sensor size, which gives a nice shallow depth of field and adequate low light performance. Manual controls are easy to grab and there is flexibility to shoot either quick/no think family videos or cinematic masterpieces. A couple of things that annoy me. First, the camera will certainly hunt for auto focus more than any other video camera I've ever used. And focusing can be slow. One other thing is that there is some noticeable "jitter" when either panning the camera or filming a moving object. All told, I'm pretty happy with it at this price point and the features it provides. I'm learning how to generate the best results given the few minor issues described.
Pros: 4K Image Quality Large lens and sensor size Manual Controls
Cons: Slow Auto focus Jitter on moving subjects
