A Fantastic Full-Frame Camera
Crutchfield customer from Freeport, NY on 1/18/2019
I found the Sony A7Riii the best mirrorless full frame camera on the market today. I did extensive research on the Nikon and Canon offerings in this class and they both fell short of the Sony. The 42mb sensor is amazing - if you need that kind of resolution. Most people probably can get by with 24mb. Just keep in mind that your photographic technique should be good as the sensor will show camera movement more so than a smaller sensor. Although "small", the camera handles well. One thing I found disappointing is this camera has no built-in intervalometer so no internal interval recording. Don't forget to mate the camera with good sharp lenses in order to appreciate that gorgeous sensor. IBIS is great. If you have lenses from other manufacturers you can use them with the proper adapter. Overall, a great camera.
Pros: Compact and light body while feeling sturdy and substantial in the hands
Cons: Convoluted menu system; no intervalometer; lenses are more expenses than Sony's competitors

SIMPLY THE BEST CAMERA I COULD FIND IN JULY 2018
SS from New York, NY on 7/12/2018
I've been in the market for a new camera for the last 2 to 3 months. Did some heavy research as to what would replace my Canon 6D. This is clearly the best option for a pro-amateur. Been using it for approximately four weeks now and very happy with the overall quality and user experience. The transition from digital SLR to mirror this is complete. Now there's no looking back for me.
Pros: Auto focus is FAST. The Canon was fast but this is super fast. And, the lenses make NO sound. The Sony also has image stabilization built into the body which is great. Loving the digital viewfinder and the cornucopia of information on it while shooting. Low light performance is far better than Canon with both 85 mm and 24-105 mm; however, not sure how much of it is Sony's optics vs software magic. Love it that the battery can be charged while in the Camera with a USB cable. One less charger to carry around.
Cons: Some nits: no time lapse natively built in; like for like the lenses and gear is slightly more expensive than Canon; the digital viewfinder takes some getting used to. I miss the LCD display which was common on the upper right side of the Canons. Also, note that there is no GPS. Grrrr...

Great addition to Sony family
Jon from Honolulu, HI on 6/7/2018
Haven't had the chance to fully test but it has been great so far. AF is indeed FAST compared to what I have used previously. Body works well with older manual lenses too. Looking forward to exploring its capabilities more!
Pros: -compact full frame body -fast AF -good w/ older lenses
Cons: menu system still a bit cumbersome but used it from NEX-7

Best Full-frame Mirrorless Camera on the Market.
Pratyush from Chandler, AZ on 5/10/2018
Never planned on upgrading from my A7R2 camera. But when the opportunity presented itself, I couldn't resist. Significant improvements over the predecessor. 42MP resolution, eye-tracking ability, dynamic range to bring out details from shadows, auto focus, I can go on and on, but overall, I am very happy with what it delivers. Highly recommended!!
Pros: Resolution, Auto focus, Dynamic range, Eye-tracking, EVF, 4K video
Cons: None

Best Camera Around
Gary from Custer, SD on 2/19/2018
Edges out the Nikon D850 as the best camera made today. I use Sony G-Master lenses attached to this camera and I get fast auto focus, high resolution, 4K video, and low noise at high ISO levels. There are a hundred other functions that this camera is capable of which might be useful to others. I highly recommend this camera to everyone.
Pros: High Resolution, 4K Video, Low Noise at High ISO, Fast Auto Focus.
Cons: Does not accept XQD Memory Cards
