I purchased this lens for mainly wildlife, and really zooming in on stuff farther away when needed. In a recent trip to Scotland, I was able to really zoom in on a couple of pheasants that were out in a field. It wasn't the greatest conditions, they were in some fairly tall grass, and as usual it was somewhat foggy. I was still able to get some good photos of them, all without spooking them away by sneaking closer. Even with poor lighting the photos are clear, with the lens on 300mm. Nice.
