Clear Sound & Value
Crutchfield customer from Norfolk, VA on 5/16/2020
These headphones exceeded my expectations. I live in an apartment, and these headphones were able to deliver all the details I miss when having to play music at a lower volume for neighbor consideration. Really clear highs, great mids, and smooth lows that were present but not all you can hear like so many other headphones. After about a month of break in, they continue to sound better. VERY lightweight and comfortable. This truly is a great value headphone.
Pros: Clear highs Good mids Good bass representation Value Lightweight Comfortable and soft
Cons: Comes with odd cables that don't fit anything Have to buy different cables

The Best Quality for the Best Price
Crutchfield customer from Middlefield, OH on 5/4/2020
All I can say is, "WOW"! These are easily the best headphones I have ever used. They are extremely lightweight, but they also don't feel fragile either. The high quality plastic and faux leather provide the headphones a sense of both style and functionality. They feel very good around my ears. So, if you're the type that enjoys listening to audio for extended periods of time, you'll enjoy them. What also attracted me to this headset was the outstanding level of sound quality you'll get from them. The sound you'll be getting is very balanced with high levels of treble and bass that isn't overbearing like it's predecessor. Overall, if you're looking for a pair of wired, over ear audiophile headphones for a reasonable price, the Mdr-1am2 is the perfect set for you.
Pros: *Amazing Sound Quality *Simplistic, Lightweight Design *Faux Leather Cups & Metal Frames
Cons: I'd say the only con would be using these with a more generic device that renders average audio quality. I mean, they do sound great on my Samsung Galaxy s9+, however I've noticed there is a little bit of sound leakage when the volume on the phone is turned all the way down. It might just be with my phone as this doesn't occur on my laptop.

Great headphones. Light and comfortable and they sound superb. I wanted a pair that had a balanced cable and I had several options but glad I didn't spend more since I doubt I would have been any more pleased. I highly recommend these with a Hi Res player. No regrets!
Pros: lightweight, comfortable abd sound excellent with Jazz/rock/pop. vocals sound great.
Cons: none

Fantastic Value and sound.
Crutchfield customer from Castle Rock, CO on 12/8/2019
The main reason that I purchased these was that they provide a balanced line input that works with my Sony Hi-Res NW-WM1A digital player and the relatively reasonable price. For this money, I cannot imagine being more satisfied with this decision. They are lightweight, comfortable and provide a great soundstage with fantastic clarity. Make sure your source provides adequate power to drive them, as this player's amp stage is better than my previous player. Being a headphone/earphone snob, I know there are some better options out there, but with Hi-Res recordings and balanced input, this is one of the more reasonable audio purchases I have made.
Pros: Clear balanced sound with proper amplification
Cons:

Advise caution on sound quality
Crutchfield customer from Chattanooga, TN on 8/2/2019
I was not satisfied with the performance of these phones. To my ears there was a lack of support in the mid bass. Violins screeched due to an apparent rise in output; probably 2KHZ to 4KHZ. At this price point I had expected a lot better performance. I have had other Sony headphones and have never experienced these frequency response discrepancies. Two of my son's headphones that were much cheaper sounded way better. Crutchfield is excellent to deal with and they issued a prompt material return and refund.
Pros: Clarity is fairly good though at this price point that would be expected.
Cons: Headband changes length too easily. Uneven frequency response.

Just what I wanted
Martin from West Melbourne, FL on 6/5/2019
Super lightweight and comfortable. Great mids and highs with the right amount of base. I had read some reviews saying they had more bass than others but I disagree. They have a nice balanced sound.
Pros: Comfort and sound
