Better Quality Sony Battery

Christopher from Cary, NC on 6/2/2019

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I've purchased cheaper batteries online. I read that the Sony batteries hold a charge longer and will last longer than the cheaper batteries. I can confirm that this battery holds a charge twice as long as the cheaper batteries. When I would break-in the cheap batteries, I would go through at least 2 of them in a busy day. With this new Sony battery, I'm able to use one battery for the entire day of shooting photographs.

Pros: Holds charge longer

Cons: A little pricey

Small but Weak

The positive is that it is a small battery and easy to carry, but the negative is that it's a weak battery.

Pros: Small

Cons: Weak, get several of them

Sony NP-FW50

I am using this battery on my Sony A7 II camera. The battery life will last for around 350 shots. It is not that much long. Therefore, I always have a spare battery. Also, it will be recharged very fast.

Pros: Not good enough compared to other competitors

Cons: Fast recharging

I am very happy with the short time that it takes for the battery to recharge. It seems to have a long enough time while in use. I have only used it for three weeks.

Solid buy

Christopher from Los Angeles, CA on 4/21/2017

The Alpha series cameras are amazing but go through these batteries like crazy. If you want a good days amount of shooting pictures and video, then you will need at least two if not three of these batteries!

Pros: Holds charge relatively well when not in use

Cons: Expensive but pretty much a required investment for the Sony Alpha cameras.
