Slide down the upper panel, insert a disc, and turn up your MP3 tunes on Sony's CDX-R3300 CD receiver. You'll have tons of musical variety for every trip, driven by a powerful built-in amp (23.2 watts RMS x 4 channels)! The song titles appear on the display, so you always know what's playing.

Use the seven preset equalizer curves of EQ3 to adjust the overall tone, then tweak the details with the 3-band equalizer. When you want to switch to radio for the local news or countdown, Sony's built-in SSIR-EX tuner delivers — it's been wowing listeners for years.

The preamp outputs are equipped with a selectable low-pass filter. Use it to keep the the non-bass frequencies out of your subwoofer so it can concentrate on making bass. Add the optional remote for convenient control.

Features
Note

Features

Drive S: The CDX-R3300 features the Drive S chassis platform. Drive S includes the CD mechanism, audio stages, 12 V power supply, and tuner section. The CD mechanism includes an improved suspension to resist shocks, a new motor that draws less power, and a fast new low-current pickup that improves durability and CD playback accuracy. The new 52W x 4 S-MOSFET Power IC produces clearer, more accurate sound, less distortion, and a higher signal-to-noise ratio than previous designs.

Motion Blade: A typical slot-load CD receiver is unprotected against the movement of air into the CD slot. As a result, airborne dust and particles can be carried into the CD mechanism. With the protection Motion Blade offers, airflow is stopped at the door, and the dust and other particles are prevented from entering the CD mechanism. To insert a CD, you must manually push the Motion Blade door down, exposing the CD slot. To eject a CD, you must push the door down until it clicks.

MP3 Playback: This unit can play MP3 files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs in ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, and Romeo formats. Each disc should have a maximum of 150 folders and 300 files/folders. During MP3 playback, the unit displays any recorded ID3 Tag information.

EQ3: You may select one of the following EQ presets: Xplod, Vocal, Club, Jazz, New Age, Rock, or Custom. For each preset, you can adjust the following frequencies: 60 Hz (Low), 1 kHz (Mid), and 10 kHz (High). The level of each frequency can be adjusted from +10 dB to -10 dB in 1 dB increments.

Source Tone Memory: Each source (AM/FM/CD) can store its own EQ3 levels.

SSIR-EX Tuner: The CDX-R3300 is equipped with Sony's SSIR-EX tuner. You can choose automatic tuning (seek) to choose a radio station, or, if the automatic tuning stops too frequently, you can change the sensitivity of the tuner to the Local Seek mode. This allows you to tune in only relatively strong stations. You can also switch from FM Stereo to FM Mono if the stereo reception is poor.

Best Tuning Memory (BTM): This feature selects stations with the strongest signals within the selected band and stores them in order of their frequency.

Rear/Subwoofer Preamp Outputs: The CDX-R3300 has a set of preamp outputs that can be set for Rear or Subwoofer output. When Subwoofer is selected, the outputs have a selectable low-pass filter (78 Hz, 125 Hz, or Off) and the output level is user-adjustable.

Dimmer: You can manually adjust the display to one of two brightness levels.

45-Degree Installation: For flexibility of installation, this unit can be mounted between 0 (horizontal) and 45 degrees.

Note

Display Illumination/Clock Display: Pressing the Off button once will turn off audio output, but the clock display and face/button illumination remain on. This makes the clock display and face/button illumination "Keyed" instead of "Unit On" only. To turn the unit off completely, you must press the Off button for two seconds.

Note: When installing in a vehicle without an accessory power wire at the radio location, you must turn the radio completely off (this defeats keyed operation), or you may wire the accessory power wire of this radio to an alternate source of accessory power to retain keyed clock and face/button illumination operation.
