Sony WH-H900N Bluetooth noise-canceling headphones

Listen all day thanks to the long-lasting rechargeable battery.

It's all about the sound

These headphones use large 40mm drivers in each earcup. That's the same size as the drivers used in Sony's flagship WH-1000XM3s, which have nice, punchy bass. Sony tunes their headphones for rich, balanced sound that's very precise, so I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a pair of the WH-H900Ns to see how they stack up.

High-quality streaming

These headphones support aptX HD® and AAC wireless audio, which means you're covered for high-quality Bluetooth streaming. And Sony's proprietary LDAC wireless technology takes that concept even further: with a compatible mobile device, LDAC passes more of the original audio signal than traditional Bluetooth, for sound that's closer to high-res. LDAC technology can be found in Sony's portable high-res music players, as well as in many popular brands of smartphone.

Earcup touch controls

Sony's earcup touch controls are cool and fun to use. Swipe up or down on the right earcup to raise or lower the volume. Swipe forward or back to skip through your tracks. Tap the earcup to pause play or pause, or hold your hand over it to engage Quick Attention mode, which mutes the music and lets in outside sounds — perfect for having quick conversations. A dedicated hard button lets you toggle between noise-canceling mode and ambient mode. The latter lets you hear more of what's going on around you, so you can stay more aware of your surroundings.

Download the free Sony Headphones Connect app to your phone, and you can customize the sound to suit your listening preferences. Tweak the equalization, surround sound presets, and more. The long-lasting battery is a great touch — you get up to 28 hours of wireless noise-canceling use on a full charge. You also get a 3.5mm audio cable if you ever want to go "old-school" and plug these babies into a headphone jack.
