Great SQ

I'd like to touch on this review destroying the Xmax specs on the Mobile ES 10 , firstly it's a SQ driver, second Xmax is a number which isn't apples to apples with other subs because until you know how the measurements are taken 6.5mm could be spec'ed out to say 13mm or the measurment could be taken at 50%BL , 70%BL or some companies use Xmech as their Xmax specs. If you're looking for output then don't buy this sub. If you want your sub to vanish into your sound system and accurate sound reproduction is your goal , then please don't listen to the other review here.
Pros: Build Quality Price Point
Cons: Not an output monster but isn't supposed to be

Why Sony?

The sub looks amazing and fells like great build quality. The only problem is in the video it states it as a "long excursion Woofer" which would be great. But the Thiele/small data provided on Sony's web site states that the Xmax is 6.5mm. That is less than many 6.5" midbass and I have no clue why Sony would do this. The Alpine Type R 10" for instance is 20mm, the JL audio 10w6 is 19mm and the Audiofrog 10GB is 19mm. Even the JL audio 10w0 is 11.4 almost double the Sony.
Pros: Great build quality and looks
Cons: 6.5mm Xmax is a joke for a 10" sub in 2021
