About the Sony XT-XM1
XM Satellite Radio's cutting-edge programming has music fans buzzing from coast to coast, so get in on the action with Sony's XT-XM1 XM Satellite Radio tuner. This compact tuner adds XM Satellite tuning capability to your compatible Sony receiver for access to over 100 channels of award-winning music, entertainment, sports, and news.
If you already own a 2000-and up Sony receiver with MiniDisc changer controls (except the CDX-CA400 and WX-4500X), it will control the XT-XM1. Your Sony receiver will display station, artist, or track info (8 characters, no scrolling); you can store up to 20 XM presets on your receiver.
To install, you connect the included cable to your Sony receiver, then run the cable to the XM-XT1's location. The XT-XM1 features a "pass-through" that allows you to use it in conjunction with a Sony CD or MD changer. (If you already have a Sony changer in your vehicle, installation's a breeze!)
Important Note: You must also have an XM antenna and subscription to receive the satellite radio signal. (Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states not available in Alaska and Hawaii.)Details:

Overview: When used with a compatible Sony UniLink head unit, this tuner allows you to receive XM's programming in your vehicle. Note: In addition to this tuner, you must have a subscription to XM Radio and an XM-compatible antenna in order to tune in the digital satellite radio signal.
Note: Satellite radio service is available only within the continental United States. Service is not available in Alaska and Hawaii.

XM Satellite Radio: XM Satellite Radio programming features up to 100 channels of digital-quality music, news, talk, sports, entertainment, and children's programming nationwide, many of which are commercial-free. For a monthly subscription fee, you can receive XM signals in your car.
Selecting Channels: The tuner allows you to select channels by number or category. Channels are organized into various program categories. You can search between the different categories and then search among the channels within each category.
Favorite Channels: This feature allows you to store 20 of your favorite XM channels.
8 Character XM Satellite Radio Information: This tuner will pass 8 characters of display data to Sony radios with XM Satellite Radio tuner controls. Information available for display includes channel names, channel numbers, artist names/program names and song titles. Even when the "Auto Scroll" function of a compatible unit is turned on, only the first 8 characters of each piece of information will be displayed.
Display Notes: If your Sony head unit has the Spectrum Analyzer, Dual Information and/or Motion Display modes, they will not operate while listening to XM Satellite Radio. If you must press the Display (DSPL) button to display the clock on your head unit, the clock cannot be displayed while listening to XM Satellite radio.
Installation: In addition to this tuner, you must have a subscription to XM Radio and an XM-compatible antenna in order to tune in the digital satellite radio signal.
