About the Ring Alarm Contact Sensor (2nd Generation)

Cover all your windows and doors
Cover all your windows and doors
A Ring Alarm 5-piece kit comes with one contact sensor, but chances are you've got more than one entry point in your home. And even if you started with the four contact sensors included in the 8-piece kit, sometimes you just need a few more. Add additional contact sensors and get real-time security alerts on your mobile device whenever a door or window opens at home. They mount easily to any door or window frame, and their tamper-resistant design and long battery life mean you can rest a little easier.
If you have a Ring Protect Plus plan, the monitoring center will contact you when a contact sensor is triggered. If they can't reach you or the other listed emergency contacts, they will dispatch emergency responders to your address.
Note: Requires Ring Alarm or Ring Alarm Pro. Ring Alarm and all Ring Alarm accessories require a subscription for digital notifications, in-app features, digital arming/disarming, and integration with other Ring, Echo, and third party products. Subscription sold separately. Terms and conditions apply.

Product Research
Features
Overview: The Ring Alarm Contact Sensor (2nd generation) lets you know when doors or windows are open. The two-piece sensors connect wirelessly to the Ring Alarm Base Station via Z-Wave, which gives it a range of 250 feet. Sensors can be placed on any door or window in your home. The sensors work exclusively with the Ring Alarm Security System.
Note: This package includes two Ring Alarm Contact Sensors.
Operation: The Contact Sensor consists of a sensor and a strong magnet. The sensor and magnet should be installed side-by-side, one on the door or window, and the other on the door/window frame. They should be no more than 1" apart when the door or window is closed. When the magnet and sensor are separated (when the door or window is opened), the sensor detects a change in the magnetic field, and triggers the sensor to send an alert to your mobile device.
Installation: The two Contact Sensor components have strong 2-sided tape for attaching to the door or window and its frame. Each component comes apart for mounting with 2 screws (not included).
Power Requirements: The Ring Contact Sensor is powered by two, user-replaceable CR2032 coin-cell batteries (included). Typical battery life is up to 3 years, depending on usage.
