Know if your door is ajar
Know if your door is ajar
Your Ring Alarm kit only came with one contact sensor, but chances are you've got more than one entry point in your home. Add additional contact sensors and get real-time security alerts on your mobile device whenever a door or window opens at home. They mount easily to any door or window frame, and their tamper-resistant design and long battery life mean you can rest a little easier.
If you have a Ring Protect Plus plan, the monitoring center will contact you when a contact sensor is triggered. If they can't reach you or the other listed emergency contacts, they will dispatch emergency responders to your address.

More details on the Ring Contact Sensor
Overview: The Ring Alarm Contact Sensor lets you know when doors or windows in your home are opened. The two-piece sensors connect wirelessly to the Ring Alarm Base Station via Z-Wave, which gives it a range of 250 feet. Sensors can be placed on any door or window in your home. The sensors work exclusively with the Ring Alarm Security System.
Note: This package includes two Ring Alarm Contact Sensors.
Operation: The Contact Sensor consists of a sensor and a strong magnet. The sensor and magnet should be installed side-by-side, one on the door or window, and the other on the door/window frame. They should be approximately 1/4" apart when the door or window is closed. When the magnet and sensor are separated (when the door or window is opened), the sensor detects a change in the magnetic field, and triggers the sensor to send an alert to your mobile device.
Installation: The Contact Sensor comes with mounting hardware (screws and wall anchors), as well as strong 2-sided tape.
Power Requirements: The Ring Contact Sensor is powered by a built-in 3V CR123 Lithium battery. The user-replaceable battery has a battery life of approximately 3 years.
