Smart lights where you need them

If you want to expand the “Ring of Security” around your home with smart lighting, you're going to need this Bridge. It's the hub that integrates Ring's exterior smart lights, motion sensors, and transformers into your Ring ecosystem.

Ring Smart Lighting via Bridge

Expand your home's ring of security into your landscape with Ring's line of smart lighting devices and the Bridge.

Without the Bridge, Ring smart lights are merely standard motion-sensing lights. When you add the Bridge, you can easily group and control them all using the Ring mobile app.

The app can also notify you if any of your lights or motion sensors are triggered by movement. You can even have that movement turn on some or all of your lights.

If you are a Ring Protect subscriber, you can have your motion sensors and smart lights trigger recording on your other Ring cameras and doorbells so you catch motion events even earlier.

Alexa, turn on the lights

The Bridge can connect your Ring Smart Lights to select Alexa-enabled devices for voice control of your lights. You can also have Alexa speak up when one of your lights or motion sensors detects motion.

More details on the Ring Smart Lighting Bridge

Product Research

Overview: The Ring Bridge connects all of your Ring Smart Lighting devices to your Ring system, making them part of your smart security system, as well as providing extra control, and accessibility. The Bridge also integrates your Smart Lighting products with Alexa-enabled devices, for providing notification and voice control. Pairing your Smart Lighting products together lets you turn them all on together whenever motion is detected. You can also turn on/off grouped lights manually through the Ring app, or via Alexa voice control.

Compatible Products: The Ring Bridge is compatible with the following Ring Smart Lighting Products: Floodlight Battery, Floodlight Wired, Spotlight Battery, Pathlight, Steplight, and Motion Sensor. Up to 50 Ring Smart Lighting devices can be supported by a single Bridge. With the Ring Bridge, these Smart Lighting products can be connected to Ring doorbells and cameras so you can view or record what's happening when motion is detected.

Wi-Fi: The Bridge wirelessly connects to your Smart Lighting devices via Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n, 2.4GHz). A minimum internet upload speed of 1 Mbps is required, but for optimal performance, 2 Mbps or higher is recommended.

Mounting: The Ring Bridge is powered by the supplied power supply, which includes an AC adapter with a USB output and a Micro USB cable. For best connection to the outdoor-installed Smart Lighting devices, installation near a front window is recommended. It is designed for indoor installation only. The Bridge has a mounting bracket which attaches to the wall with two screws (supplied). The Bridge then slides into the bracket and locks into place. The average install time is approximately 5 minutes.

Ring App: The Ring Bridge lets you control your Smart Lighting devices via the Ring App on your smartphone or tablet. The Ring App lets you turn individual lights on or off, or group lights together and control them as a group (front yard, back yard, etc.). The app also provides instant notification when motion is detected by one or more of your Smart Lights, as well as view a list of recent activity at your home. You can control the brightness, adjust the motion detection sensitivity, and monitor the battery level in each light from the app.

Ask Alexa: Using the Bridge, you can link your Ring Smart Lights to your Alexa-enabled devices to give you control over your lights with your voice. You can turn individual or groups of lights on or off, and adjust settings (brightness, motion detection sensitivity) with your Alexa device. When enabled, Alexa will notify you when motion is detected by any of your Smart Lights.

Security or Convenience: The Ring Bridge can provide enhanced security for your home when added to your Ring security system. With the motion detection abilities of the Smart Lighting devices, the Bridge can link together the lights with your Ring doorbell cameras and security cameras to create a wider reach. You can also program all of your Smart Lights to turn on whenever one detects motion. For convenience, you can link together your Smart Lighting devices to light your path when you come home after dark. When one of the devices detects motion, you can set the system (through the Ring app) to turn on your Pathlights, Steplights, Floodlights, or Spotlights to safely light your way to the door.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Will wave devices like he smart switch and Schlage lamp modules work with this?
[ Donald  Sep 19, 2022 ]
1 answer
Greetings Donald, and thank you for your question. Short answer, no. It is more specific to other Ring equipment. The only mention of another third party piece of equipment is an Alexa device to control the Ring lighting via voice.
